My Wife & I, together with a friend, have just spent the past week at the Hilton Malta. We arrived late Sunday evening &, together with our luggage, we were escorted to our Executive rooms on the 9th floor. Following a quick freshen up we went to the dining room for our inclusive evening meal & partook of the enticingly wide menus of well prepared and presented food before retiring to the bar for a nightcap. The Breakfast menu, catered for every conceivable taste from Continent to full English and much more. The Hotel is located on a private peninsula and has excellent views of the sea or marina (depending on the room position). There is very little background noise & our room was very quiet throughout the night. The Hilton is a 5 star hotel & it provides a full 5 star service, however, the half-board price was not exorbitant & drinks / snacks at the poolside or the Quarterdeck Bar, were commensurate with the prices charged in the local bars & restaurants. The service we received throughout our stay was exemplary. Of particular note were dining room staff members, Lennart & Patrycja, who were happy to provide informative & occasionally humorous responses to our many enquiries. My review of the Blue Elephant Restaurant can be found elsewhere on this site.. We look forward to booking another stay at this hotel in the very near future.
I stay here every year …the Hotel seems to be getting worse …the staff used to be very friendly and attentive but now it feels like they are not bothered and you are just a statistic …on one of the days someone had smashed a glass in the lobby cafe and it took nearly an hour to clean the mess up in spite of it being a public area…the manager was very stern faced and seemed for it not to be her problem…even though she was in charge …The Blue Elephant restaurant which was marketed as one of the best Thai restaurants in the world was terrible …the service was non existent…I would never use it again…the food in the breakfast room was cold and not very appealing….i think now after coming for a number of years my time with this hotel has come to an end ….next year probably the Dragonara Hotel …
We had a fantastic week-long stay at Hilton Malta in mid-August and couldn't have asked for a better family holiday.
From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming. Check-in was quick and efficient, which was appreciated after travelling with two children. The hotel was clean and well maintained throughout. Our room was spacious and had beautiful sea and pool views, which made our stay enjoyable.
The facilities were excellent and the family pool was a particular highlight for our two children. The pool staff were friendly, attentive and always happy to help.
The Vista Lounge is a lovely spot, particularly for ice creams and desserts. It became a favourite little treat for the children and a great place for us to relax together.
The main standout for our family was the Oceana Restaurant. There were queues in the mornings for the breakfast buffet, but they moved very quickly and it was clear just how hard the staff were working to keep everything running smoothly, even when the restaurant was extremely busy.
For us, the most important part of our dining experience was how incredibly accommodating the chefs were regarding our son's severe nut allergy.
Executive Chef Manuel, Chef Max and Chef Rodney, were exceptional. At breakfast and dinner, they went the extra mile by preparing food for him separately in the kitchen, rather than taking food from the buffet, to minimise the risk of cross-contamination.
The vegetarian food was lovely too.
A special mention to Chippi, who looked after us during breakfast service. She was always smiling, friendly and helpful. Her positive attitude really stood out.
Mahmoud and Manisa are other members of the team who were always warm and friendly, making sure everything ran smoothly.
All of the waiting staff were excellent, although unfortunately we didn't catch everyone's names.
We would definitely come back to Hilton Malta and would happily recommend it to other families.
Just returned from a 7 night stay on B&B basis. Hotel is lovely, breakfast great and majority of staff friendly and professional. We sat by the Merkanti Beach Pool which was adults only area, it was great. Pool bar and food a little pricey - €7 for a pint of Coke or €4 for a can! Plentiful supply of towels and loads of sunbeds. Hotel in great position in Portamoso with lots of bars and restaurants close by. Blue Elephant in hotel is fantastic. Unfortunately our TV didn’t work for the duration of the stay, it was reported. Check in wasn’t great - we arrived about 2pm and told room would be ready shortly and they’d ring to let me know. At 3 pm I went back to reception and they said ‘oh yes it’s ready’ - no one had rung! The Quarterdeck bar was nice inside but lacked any atmosphere, we did sit outside one night but there’s no lighting/lamps so it’s very dark and dingy. Would we stay again ? Yes we probably would!
The best hotel and the best pool team i ever had experienced. Specially yogesh from aqua bar what a guy and his team he made my every morning welcomed and knew my preference the best.
