- Verdi St Georges Bay Marina

St Georges Bay is a quiet holiday haven, but the canny holidaymaker knows it's a great place to be. It boasts one of Malta's very few sandy beaches, where you can swim, snorkel and of course, enjoy the sand and sun. St George's Bay is also brilliantly placed for trips to Paceville or St Julian's.
The stunning Verdi St Georges Bay Marina is home to some of the best contemporary hotels in St George's Bay. There is a feeling of freshness and zesty Mediterranean design about these newer developments, and the Marina Hotel really exemplifies that.
The Verdi St Georges Bay Marina packs plenty of its own attractions too. It's the perfect spot for a holiday in Malta. Like the landscape, the hotel boasts big, open spaces, lots of opportunities to swim, and it's decked out in a vibrant Mediterranean colour palette too with lots of umber, russet and red.
The Verdi St Georges Bay Marina also offers you an impressive range of dining experiences, from bistro style bar to lounge to restaurant, and each with its own distinctive character.
As a guest of the Verdi St Georges Bay Marina, you don't just have the two superb pools to enjoy, but the adjacent lido complex with pool as well. The generosity extends to free access to the Apollo Club at the Corinthia Hotel St Georges Bay where you can enjoy a range of health and beauty treatments.
Facilities like the Verdi St Georges Bay Marina remind you not only why you chose Malta as your holiday destination, but why it continues to be such a popular choice. New developments on this scale and of this quality are a great example.

The Verdi St Georges Bay Marina Resort is a bright, modern and comfortable four star hotel with a welcoming atmosphere and refreshing informality. Enjoying a superb sea-front position the hotel forms part of a resort with the neighbouring Corinthia Hotel St. George's Bay.
The location was great and the staff were exceptional there is a lot of building work going on around the hotel however even though we could see it we didn’t get disturbed by it at all. My one complaint was that I was charge €17 for a glass of house wine (I did not have another one in the hotel). The food was amazing loved the variety for breakfast and had a couple of meals on the onsite restaurants and they where superb.
A nice hotel with great views over the harbour and Paceville if you get the sea view option. Otherwise you are facing a construction site which is currently building a huge hotel behind the Verdi. The staff in the Verdi are lovely and so helpful. The breakfast is varied and excellent quality and an outside seating was a must for us to enjoy the views over a great coffee. Rooms are very nice and good air conditioning provides a comfortable nights sleep. There are a few restaurants in the complex shared with the Corinthian but a walk into Paceville offers a host of various restaurants and bars at better prices. The complex is a bit of a closed market on prices so a wander down the hill is advised. The pool area is busy but there are endless sun spots and sunbeds with umbrellas available FOC. Paceville itself has varied shops, shopping centres and bars although it’s a bit lively as the sun goes down, by which time we were normally heading back along the bay to the hotel. Andrew’s. Bar on the way down from the hotel towards the beach area is excellent and we visited 3 nights of our seven. Great food at good prices and a chef who likes to venture out of the kitchen for a chat with the diners. Straight opposite the hotel is a new shopping complex with a huge supermarket to get your essentials as they stock just about anything you will need. An organised trip to Gozo from the hotel is highly recommended.
Verdi is actually part of a larger collection of hotels that share facilities which includes the Corinthian. So if the Corinthian is too costly consider Verdi.
The hotel is very clean and does what is says on the tin. My room was a pseudo suite double bed with room at the foot of the bed for a seating area with chairs and a table I front of the TV. The TV was limited and I would have liked to have been able to connect my iPad to a spare hdmi port to stream my programmes.
The balcony was large due to the room being set back from the rest of the rooms.
The staff were friendly and approachable. I did get admonished by one of the restaurant staff, rightly so, for being late to breakfast. It was jovial enough and she found me a good spot to eat so that I wasn’t disturbed during the clean up.
I used the spa twice and had good service. Worth a visit. It is in the Corinthian so you may need a code from reception to get through the gates.
To note - the route to Sliema if you plan to walk goes through Paceville. This is generally a bit grubby and is the main location for night clubs so attracts lots of youth partying and has over tones of Ibiza as a result.
We spent 10 nights in the Verdi St. George’s Bay Marina and had a wonderful stay from the arrival to departure. The hotel is a great value for the money paid. It has a wonderful pool area and its own unique private beach (shared with their sister hotel Corinthia). The service is perfect everywhere from the reception, breakfast, bars and restaurants to housekeeping looking after our rooms. Bojan and Cynthia at the Corinthian bar next to the adult pool were super friendly and attentive. Maureen at the reception at Verdi was fun to tak to, very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast team as a whole is friendly, fast and provides a great start of the day. We explored a lot of sites of Malta during the day and were always looking forward to return to the hotel and relax in our room and on our terrace. The hotel has a new shopping mall right outside the door which made some of the small necessary shopping very easy. It is also located in a walking distance to the night party area of Paceville but far enough to be quiet and peaceful at night. Many thanks for the great stay we had! The entire team made our vacation very special!
This was an amazing vacation easy 5***** review.
