This modern and elegant hotel, right on the Sliema seafront, has long been a popular choice with our clients. The main shopping and entertainment areas of Silema are within five minutes stroll and the nightlife of St Julian's is a 15-minute walk.

Preluna hotel Sliema
We’ve had a fantastic stay and would happily return. The hotel is spotless, with clean rooms and well-maintained facilities throughout.
The staff were the standout part of our holiday. Everyone was genuinely friendly, welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help. A special thank you to Dejvid. who went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable. We’d also like to mention the new trainees in the Beach Club including Dmytro who were all brilliant, always smiling, eager to help and a real credit to the hotel.
The food was excellent, with plenty of choice, and the Beach Club was a real highlight. Having freshly cooked food made to order as part of the all-inclusive package was a lovely touch and far better than the usual buffet options. Allergens were all well labelled.
The location is perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. If you’re after nightlife and a party scene, this probably isn’t the right area, but for a quiet break it’s ideal.
The only slight downside was that the main pool area is located across the road from the hotel, and the number of sunbeds there is quite limited. It certainly wouldn’t stop us returning, but it’s worth knowing if you enjoy spending most of your day by the pool.
Overall, an excellent hotel with amazing staff, fantastic food and a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and hope to return in the future.
Too many issues to give it more stars
Went for 4 nights at the end of June as a couple. I would love to be able to give the hotel 4 stars, but there were too many issues that added up.
I'll start with he positives, of which there were quite a few.
The room was spacious, comfy and modern. Bed was big and comfy. Housekeeping was very good. Air conditioning was perfect, and meant we slept well.
Food was ok (remember this is a city hotel rather than a resort hotel), plenty of it, a good variety and fresh. Different themes for dinner each night. Breakfast was a bit of a scrum, but the hotel doesn't control when people come down for breakfast.
Location is fair, depending on what you want from a stay, but you will be walking up and down a lot of hills if you are sightseeing.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
The indoor pool area was great to get out the heat and wind down.
Now, unfortunately the negatives :
We booked as a package holiday so would expect to check in when the tour operator got us there. We were told we had to wait 2hrs15 until we could check in.
The outdoor pool is 2 mins walk away across a busy road. It is packed, sunbeds arranged like sardines in a tin, and nowhere near enough of them (or space for more). Hit and miss if you can get by the pool.
Lots of building work going on. No noise at all, but it was happening next to our room (8122) and there was building dust, dirt and bits of stone outside our door all the time.
We went to the bar 1 night only. Had 2 drinks each. Firstly , the bartender filled my glass with ice (without asking) before pouring a scotch over it. When I mentioned it, he said he could remove the ice, but wouldn't replace the drink when asked. When we got the bill, it was twice what I was expecting. When I asked, he said we had doubles, Again, these were given without asking.
No water with dinner without paying for it. 3 or 5 euros (depending on size) for bottles they have filled themselves.
The fire alarm went off at 6pm one day - no real problem - was a fault with the system. However, it then went off again at 3.30am , and it took them half an hour to find someone who could shut it off ( they stopped it and it just kept off again for that half hour). Again, this was a fault with the system. Didn't even get so much as an apology for this.
We didnt let any of this spoil our holiday, but I cant justify giving the hotel a better rating.
Great place!
We have just had 7 nights here. I had a few reservations due to other reviews. However I can honestly say how fantastic this hotel is. We had a Seaview room with balcony. (I recommend this upgrade!) It was lovely. Rooms are a good size clean and has all the usual things ie Tea and coffee and shower and beach towels provided. Modern and fresh look. Beds comfortable. Staff were fantastic! So helpful and kind. Food was 5*. The main restaurant was so good.All the food was fresh and beautifully cooked. I highly recommend upgrading to All inclusive although You can eat in the restaurant for £€30 each all you can eat. You also get vouchers to use else where...ie the beach club opposite (ribs were amazing!) and the burger bar next door so not tied to one place. Most drinks are included you can eat and drink in the beach club opposite which is part of the hotel. They have themed food nights amd these were fantastic!! David the restaurant manager was great and his waiting staff were so lovely. You get a free cocktail in the skyroom and watching the sunset was amazing. Local area is quite busy but in a good way. Transport is easy navigate and cheap. Buses are cool. I wouldn't recommend a hire car and traffic is very busy. We went to Mdina from Sliema is was €5 return. The spa was relaxing. The pool was warm as was the jacuzzi. The lights are low and warm. There are saunas too. Max 15 so to not busy the gym is there too. I worried about the comments re building work. Yes there is building work. This did not effect us atall.
Malta was beautiful. Better than I imagined. Boat trips are a must (harbour cruise 90mins is fantastic) plus went to Gozo and swam in the blue lagoon. Bring water shoes if you want to go in the sea.

Pocket missing from Hotel
We stayed here for 4 nights, in room 1207, and checked out on July 8, 2026. While packing our bags, I noticed that my wallet was missing, along with all my documents: ID card, driver's license, health card, and approximately 150 euros in Romanian currency. I had left the wallet in my shoulder bag, which I placed among my personal belongings and the hotel’s linens/pillows.It causes real psychological discomfort to find out at the very end that my documents are missing, especially since I spent the entire stay relaxed, thinking that security issues and thefts could not happen here.I am disappointed because the staff only offered to search the room and help me check if I hadn't packed it by mistake. However, there was absolutely no effort to provide an access log for the hotel room door (entry/exit times) or to invite me to review the security cameras to clarify the situation. I felt a complete lack of involvement in helping me resolve this incident. They simply stated that I should have locked my belongings in the safe.I also want to report that for two consecutive days, someone tried to enter our room during lunchtime (I couldn't tell if it was authorized staff or not). On the last day, another tourist was so deeply disturbed by this that they furiously called for manager support. That was when I found the courage to report my own incident as well...I strongly recommend avoiding the services of this hotel!!!
Fantastic holiday
We have just come back from a week stay at the Preluna. We were all inclusive and had a sea view balcony room. We arrived just after 12pm and check in was at 2pm not a problem as we could leave our luggage and make use of the facilities so went for lunch at the beach club. I had emailed the hotel to request a double bed instead of twin and happily accommodated and left balloons, a bottle of wine and card on the bed on check in for my partners birthday. We had great meals here, loved lunch at the beach club. Didn’t use the pool purely because we used the sea access nearby instead which we enjoyed. Great staff and very clean. Great location, and easy access to Valetta, st Julian’s and beyond! Would absolutely return!
