Palazzo Violetta

We had such a lovely stay here. From check-in to check-out, the staff went above and beyond , always warm, attentive and quick to help with anything we needed.

The breakfast genuinely deserves its own mention. A huge spread with something for everyone!

The room was clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt relaxed but well cared for. You can tell the team genuinely takes pride in the guest experience.

Would happily stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Superb hotel, spotlessly clean with the most comfortable bed ever! The staff were brilliant, especially in the breakfast room/bar area, they always had a smile. A special thank you to Lama (spelling?) who made our stay so enjoyable. This quiet location is within easy walking distance for restaurants or a quick swim in the sea before breakfast.

We really enjoyed our stay at Palazzo Violetta. We stayed in Room 403, which was lovely and spacious, with a huge balcony and everything we needed for a short stay.

The bed was extremely comfortable, with good-quality pillows and lovely bed linen. The blackout curtains were a godsend and helped us sleep really well. The air conditioning and fan were also very welcome, particularly as the weather was much hotter than we had expected for September.

We had breakfast on two of our four days. Although there wasn’t a huge selection, everything we had was tasty and the food was topped up regularly. The staff were pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. Staff were a little scarce in the evenings and, on occasion, we had to wait a while for drinks service, but this wasn’t a major issue. I completely appreciate that it isn’t always feasible to have an area continuously staffed when there are only a few guests using it later in the evening.

Suggestions for improvement

The rooms with large balconies would really benefit from some shade, such as a parasol or covered area. We would have made much more use of the balcony if there had been some shade available, but it was simply too hot to sit outside in the full sun for very long.

The wardrobe in Room 403 isn’t quite tall enough to hang longer dresses, so a hook on the back of the door would have been a useful addition.

One small issue we experienced was with the timing of room cleaning. The cleaning staff often wanted to enter our room quite early in the morning, when we were getting dressed or had just returned from breakfast. On one occasion, one of the cleaners appeared frustrated when I asked if they could come back a little later. I appreciate that there is a ‘Do Not Disturb’ hanger, and in hindsight we probably should have used it each day. However, it would have been helpful to know the approximate cleaning times, as I haven’t previously stayed somewhere where rooms were serviced quite so early. Including this information in the welcome information would be useful.

Finally, a courtesy room with a shower would have been a great addition. There are no showers available apart from the outdoor ones around the pool, and as we had a late flight, we would have really appreciated somewhere private to shower and change before travelling. The staff were very accommodating in allowing us to leave our bags, and the restaurant toilets are large enough to get changed in, but a dedicated space to shower and change would have made a big difference.

We did extend our room by two hours at €20 per hour, which was helpful. We were also offered the option of another room, but this was charged at the full nightly rate and, as we were leaving for the airport at around 5pm, it didn’t really warrant the additional expense.

Overall, we had a lovely stay at Palazzo Violetta. The hotel has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, and with a few small improvements, particularly around the balcony shade and facilities for guests with late departures, it could be even better.
