Pros: Would come back here purely for how great staff were! Reception staff were absolutely amazing! I’m frustrated I didn’t get their names at the end so I could give them the recognition they deserved but all the gentlemen staff were very attentive and polite and made an effort to learn visitors names and address them as such which I really appreciated!
Staff at the rooftop restaurant were also very attentive! I did manage to get Rajip’s name who was nothing short of incredible! Also gave great recommendations on things to do during my stay in Malta which was very helpful and overhead him giving the same level of service to other tables everytime I was there! Thank you Rajib and also reception staff whose names I regrettably didn’t catch!.
Cons:
The fact that visitors have to pay to use the spa services at €40 per person for 1hour and half I think is pretty ridiculous. Considering I paid £1k+ for my stay here I think there should be complimentary free usage of spa services for a limited time per day. Yes, there’s a pool on the roof included in the stay which gets 0% shade and not the most comfortable in 30degress + weather. I also booked a room with the plunge pool on the balcony which is a foot bath at best! Very misleading.
Breakfast:
The al carte breakfast menu really isn’t great at all! I’ve seen 3* buffets with better menus. Having table service is great but at the cost of breakfast options and smaller sizes…not worth it. Portions are small and limited. The waffles were lovely but you’re served a quarter of the waffle and when I asked for eggs to have on the side I was told I had to pick. I didn’t make a fuss but the next day Rajip was kind of enough to offer me both which another newer member didn’t (not her fault it’s how things are and should change) if you want a full English you have to pay for it which I think is ridiculous. Everything on the menu should be included in breakfast with larger portions.
All in all staff and the Michelin star restaurant (minus breakfast) make it 5*. Hotel could do with lots of changes.
The hotel is very pleasant and cool, and the room was comfortable. Alex was amazing and very helpful; he explained everything clearly and was very kind throughout our stay. The hotel offers access to a beach club, which is also excellent and great for enjoying the hotter days. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you are visiting Malta.
We absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend it for couples! ❤️ The hotel was beautiful, the staff were lovely, and everything was perfect for a relaxing getaway. We’d definitely stay here again and would happily recommend it to anyone! Location was really good, close to Valetta with either a bus route, or ferry or a taxi ferry, close to sliema town and very good overall bus connection routes. Room was spot on, we stayed on level 2, very good idea you don’t need a hotel room key!!!
Lovely hotel in Sliema, Malta. We upgraded to a Junior Suite which was lovely. Lots of space and very comfortable. The room has all the essentials for what you need.
We did book the rooftop pool for an afternoon, which can you do so via the app or via the chat function. The app works best when connected to the hotel WiFi. The food at the rooftop bar was delicious however we didn’t eat elsewhere onsite.
Also the pool and downstairs sauna area is quite nice, however they treat the spa as a proper spa, so make sure you arrive wearing your hotel room bathrobe and slippers.
We also had a lovely spa treatment during our stay, which was perfect!
Overall, a great location and base for exploring Malta.
This is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. The place is spotless and the service was top-notch. All the staff had a great balance between checking if we had everything we need and not being overbearing. The breakfast was good quality with a good variety of food and drinks. The bar has a nice range of cocktails - and they were very well made. La Terrasse - the roof top pool and sun loungers was a great experience too - but we preferred the experience at La Plage. We loved the theme of this hotel and it's sibling hotels - paying homage to their founder Sunny Borg. We especially wanted to give a mention to Ben Myburgh - thank you and your excellent team very much for your amazing hospitality!
