115 The Strand Hotel and Suites consists of a fantastic selection of self-catering studios, suites and of course classic hotel rooms. All 83 guest rooms, incorporate a stylish design with modern amenities, to ensure all visitors have a light and spacious retreat in which to relax after a long day exploring Sliema and beyond.
All rooms are fully air-conditioned and include a safety deposit box, hairdryer, flat screen TV, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. Wi-Fi is also available free of charge in public spaces, and can be accessed in your room (at a fee).
Once a suburb of Valletta, Sliema has developed into a bustling and fashionable resort with many hotels and restaurants, smart shops and places of entertainment.
The waterfront along Sliema Creek is known as The Strand and is a popular area with tourists. Tower Road, which bisects the Sliema promontory from The Strand to the open sea, offers excellent shopping and then leads on to St Julian's Point. The resort offers good swimming opportunities along the flat rocky coast on the open sea side of Sliema.
The room we were given was spacious and clean. However, it had a window that, when opened, looked directly onto a wall, which was quite disappointing as there was no pleasant view at all. It would make a big difference if the outside wall could be painted or perhaps decorated with some flowers or greenery to make the view more appealing.
I was particularly disappointed with the Wellness Centre. We booked the hotel because we were looking forward to relaxing there, but unfortunately, when we visited, both the jacuzzi and sauna were not working. This was a real let-down and affected our overall experience.
The breakfast was average, although the service was excellent. The staff at both reception and the restaurant were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. Their excellent service really made a difference and helped make our holiday worthwhile despite the issues we experienced.
We have just returned from a fantastic week at 115 the Strand. The staff were fab and couldnt do enough to help. The location was perfect for us and really central. The added bonus of the Aqualuna free entry was great. We would definitely recommend.
Superb location. Ferries and boat tours are all a 5 minute walk. Cafes next door and little shop connected to hotel. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Has ice and water on floors 6 and below. Book a Seaview room. Balcony overlooking Valetta is worth it. Although you will hear music from Aqua Luna (pool across the street that has hotel access and has plenty of seats all day long) at night it didn't bother us and ends early enough. Elton at front desk was really great and deserves a shout out. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Friend left phone in bathroom and reception held it for her all day as we were out and about even though she had no idea where she left it. Really states to the fact how nice and safe Malta is. Breakfast was just OK but not big breakfast people anyways. Hotel should open up rooftop bar area. Rooms were spacious, clean (housekeeping did a nice job) and ac worked well. I like a cold room. Room has mini fridge, UBS outlets, safe, shampoo and body soap. Front desk will give you a hair dryer. The view and location of this hotel is worth every penny. I did alot of research on various hotels and any complaints about this hotel just shows that some people are just never pleased. We traveled all over the island to different areas as first time visitors and we were very happy we chose this hotel. I wouldn't hesitate to return.
Absolutely the best. The staff go above and beyond to help. The free access to the Aqua Luna was a huge bonus. It has a lovely rooftop small pool and lounge area. If you're looking for a hotel in Malta - this is it.
Stayed in a family suite with mum and sister. Had balcony view over the seafront which was fabulous. My mum and I shared that bedroom room, the balcony door had good soundproofing re street noise. My sister slept in the adjoining little lounge/kitchenette which had a frosted glass window to a multi storey concrete shaft. She got little sleep due to the noise of a nearby rooms returning late, opening their windows, any talking laughing playing music echoed and magnified hugely. I would highly recommend balcony room, the hotels are v tall and narrow and terraced so lots have many rooms with “courtyard” view, ie concrete shaft, just to be aware. Staff so helpful and friendly. Free pass to Aqualuna across the road was a big bonus and we went a few times, so enjoyable. Breakfast room/restaurant very nice decor. Breakfast food and drinks very mediocre. All hot food luke warm at best. Scrambled eggs are powdered, making real would elevate breakfast so much, coffee machine slow and coffee very weak, and queues alot of the time. Only one cheese on offer. Milk jugs are too small and run out too frequently. We enjoyed our stay but would not return due to disappointing breakfast.
