This popular family run hotel provides spacious and comfortable accommodation in a secluded setting overlooking the sea on both sides at Paradise Bay. It is ideal for a relaxing holiday but has all the facilities for those who enjoy an active life and for families. The Paradise Bay Resort Hotel has its own private beach just across the road which is linked to the hotel by an underpass. The small ferry port to Gozo is only a short distance from the hotel and regular local bus services connect with St. Paul's Bay, Sliema and Valletta. Some of Malta's finest sandy beaches are also close at hand.

A mixed bag of experiences. Check in was a misearable affair with surly staff. We arrived at 12pm on a boiling hot day. Told we couldn't have room until 3pm. Fair enough if that's Hotel policy but with nothing to do it was a quite miserable wait until the room was ready. There are 3 lovely outdoor pools, 2 of which weren't very accessable to us as we have mobility issues. The main pool was bedecked with ample sunbeds, many of which needed replacing and the majority of the sun shades were falling to pieces. We found a nice quietish are of the main pool directly under our hotel room because the noise from loud music around the pool area was deafening at times. Whoever decided loud bass round a pool was a good idea needs to seriously rethink. It also didn't help that noisy uncontrolled children were able to run unsupervised at all times. The Cockerel Bar on site was quite pleasant and sold food and drink. The food offerings were vary basic either being catering packaged Sandwiches, pastries or Pizza slices. The choice was poor but reasonably priced. The room itself was basic but exceedingly comfortable with an amazing view. It was kept spotlessly clean by an absolutely superb room cleaner. He was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Dining in the evening was very hit and miss. The first 3 nights the food was lovely but as the week drew on it became very repetitious and finding a free table more and more difficult. It was also extremely noisy so not really a pleasant Dining experience and once again unsupervised children running round the dining room added to the uncomfortable experience. Conrast this with the lovely beach reached via an underpass and belonging to the Hotel. A beautiful place to lay and relax free from all noise. A truly pleasurable experience. There is a very expensive shop on site that doesn't really sell anything of use and certainly no fresh produce. We found it far cheaper to shop at Ramla Bay 2 bus stops away, Even with the bus fare included we could buy twice as much at half the price. Did we enjoy our week in Malta ? Yes and No, some good some very bad so we will not be returning. My wife last stayed here 25 years ago and was saddened that the place had turned from a classy establishment into a much downgraded establishment.

Before we had arrived at this hotel I had seen mixed reviews so was already slightly sceptical. We had booked through TUI and we booked a twin room with sea view. When we arrived the room was not ready which was fine, when we did get our room our key card wouldn’t work to open the door. The cleaner let us in and when we went in there there was a towel swan with cupcakes saying ‘congratulations’ which clearly was not for us. We headed back downstairs and explained and they looked confused, she then asked if we touched the cupcakes to which we said no however this must meant that they will just let the other guests go straight in there? Our second room looked nothing like the photo and was tiny, after ringing down to reception they kindly moved us to a room that looked a lot more like what we booked so we were happy. In terms of the pool there is no lifeguard at all, this is clearly stated however I think it’s highly dangerous with the amount of children in the pool. The umbrellas for the sunloungers had seen better days with some of them broke. When you hire towels you have to pay cash and then hand a ticket into the captains deck, when we did this the woman just threw it into a seemingly random pot. On the final day when I went to retrieve this to get my money back they had lost the card which I was not suprised at however luckily I kept my receipt. The resection staff and also bar staff are very rude, times we were standing at the bar waiting to be acknowledged whilst they were on there phone or having their own conversations. Reception staff not approachable at all, seemed to have an attitude however may have been language barrier but facial expressions say a lot. One of the days we had an early excursion and needing our towels changing which usually doesn’t open till 9am, we went to reception to ask if there was any way we could get some earlier and she just responded ‘there’s no towels at reception’ I explained I knew that but does she know if there’s any way we could get some to which she again replied ‘there’s no towels at reception’ in a very snappy tone. The entertainment was non existent during the night apart from a a keyboard man, he was good but there was no variety at all. Overall the hotel is dated which doesn’t bother us massively however having the wrong room twice is poor. The location is a bit in the middle of no where however again didn’t bother us as everything is within distance on the bus. The noise during all hours of the night is very frustrating, from people moving chairs to shouting in the corridor. The nicest members of staff were probably the cleaners, always saying hello and morning. We had a lovely holiday but it wasn’t much to do with the hotel itself and there is a lot of improvement to be done to it.
Lovely hotel, lovely room and view, lovely happy staff of cleaners and restaurant staff. Enjoyed the view from our balcony and the spacious room, food was nice and plentiful, always something there that one would like. Only downside to our stay was at evening meal half way through our week, a school party stayed and their teachers around seven of them were not concerned with their pupil’s conduct, the restaurant staff tried to keep them cordoned off in a part of the dining hall, but it didn’t really work, the ones breaking the rules were drinking alcohol and even vaping, the teachers and restaurant manager did nothing when approached by the waiting staff. This behaviour was just not acceptable. So the only downside to our stay was the clientele they allow, which is beyond the hotels staff responsibility. We would stay again most definitely.
