Solana Hotel and Spa

Located in beautiful Mellieha which is less busy then other resorts. Good size room and bathroom. Air con good which is essential in August! Excellent buffet breakfast from 7.30 to 10.30 Spa treatments wonderful and good value. Gym and indoor pool/spa don’t open till 8am so not very useful if you’re looking for early exercise Rooftop pool and zen deck the highlight of the hotel. Beautiful and relaxing with great views over town, beach and out to Comino and Gozo Bus stops right outside hotel. Very easy to use buses or Bolt/Uber to get around locally or to other places on island. Recommend day trip to Mdina/Rabat, one day to Valletta and 3Cities, boat trip to comino/blue lagoon/gozo, and check on Golden Bay Beach.

We had a fantastic time at Solana hotel in Malta and really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. What really stood out for us were the food options and the convenient location, but the biggest one was definitely the staff.

Bellini Restaurant provided a diverse selection of dishes throughout our stay, ensuring variety at every meal. I especially enjoyed the Lebanese and Indian options, which were particularly flavourful. There was ample choice for those seeking something different, and the desserts were especially tempting.

The restaurant team, Nelson, Sandip, Shamila, Sirjana, Aasim, and Dawa, were all brilliant. They were friendly, hardworking, welcoming and always happy to help. Seeing familiar faces each day made the restaurant feel much more personal, and they helped make our mealtimes even more enjoyable Ijaz, Muzamil, and Dawa at reception also deserve a special mention. They were always approachable and helpful whenever we needed anything.

When we first arrived, we had a slight issue with the bed and the room, but Holly dealt with it. She listened to us, sorted everything out and made sure we were happy. We really appreciated the way she handled the situation and how quickly she put things right.

The location was also very convenient. There are buses close to the hotel, which made it easy for us to get around and explore Malta. There are also local shops nearby, so it was easy to pick up anything we needed or have a little look around the local area. Overall, we had a brilliant holiday. Good food, a convenient location and, most importantly, a fantastic team of people who made us feel welcome.
