En-suite rooms are bright and airy and all have a private balcony or terrace with country views. The Riviera Spa Resort is ideal for exploring the islands with the Gozo ferry being only two bus stops away. Boats to Comino are available from the quay in the front of the Hotel (summer months only). Malta's largest blue flag sandy beach and the town of Mellieha are also just a few bus stops away. A regular public bus service connects the hotel to other towns including the capital Valletta a World Heritage City, the fortified Medieval city of Mdina, the Three Cities and Grand Harbour area, the shopping and entertainment meccas of Sliema and St Julian's.

The Riviera Spa Resort is situated in one of the most picturesque areas in the north of Malta, just across the channel from the islands of Gozo and Comino. This 4-star hotel enjoys a quiet location in Marfa, in the pristine countryside with an unspoilt shoreline giving fantastic open sea views; ideal for a relaxing holiday. The Gozo ferry is only 1km away and the bus stop is just 100m away from the hotel.
Upon arrival, well after midnight, after a delayed flight, we were told all inclusive was finished. We went to bed hungry and thirsty. There is no water provided in the rooms, guests have to fill their own water bottles from dispensers on each floor, the water in the dispenser was tepid. We had no way to cool our water, as we discovered on day 5, that the fridge in our room had been switched off. There are flies in all communal areas of the hotel, including the lobby bar, restaurant. In all external areas there are flies and wasp including the pool bar, outdoor restaurant seating. On our final day we were told that all inclusive ends when you check out. As it was 10am and our transfer was at 6pm we had no way to buy refreshments, the lobby bar does not accept cash. I explained to reception that we had lost all inclusive on our first day completely, as we arrived well after midnight, and all inclusive was revoked at check out. So whilst we paid for 7 nights all inclusive, we received 5. The hotel reception said this is policy. I waited around to speak to the Tui hotel rep, who didn’t arrive at the hotel all day. I’ve raised a complaint withTui, who have refused to do anything about this, as I raised this when I arrived home, not in the resort!
Hotel needs some cosmetic work especially to the pool area, lining of pool lifting and can be dangerous underfoot. Beware all inclusive stops the moment you check out, so if you have a late departure then all inclusive is no longer available to use. All other all inclusive resorts I have stayed with allow you to retain this status until you physically leave.
This time we stayed during the week and the entertainment was extremely good, we even got fireworks after the dancing show. Our room overlooked the country and had also view as far as gozo. The room was very clean. Thank Meenu for this. We also enjoyed the themed buffet restaurants, especially the Chinese. In the evening I also liked the sunset from the terrace. Perfect location to visit Comino and Gozo
Had a 4 night stay at this hotel, could have been better. Upon arrival a member of staff helps with your luggage and brings it to your room. Had to wait about an hour for our room but was allowed into the restaurant to eat in the mean time. The hotel is generally kept clean although the exterior needs some work. Our room was clean and tidy and stocked up with toiletries tea and coffee on a daily basis. Towels were only cleaned when left on floor or bed! There are quite a few lifts throughout and as it's only 6 floors we didn't normally wait too long. The staff at the hotel are generally good and work hard. To get drinks in the lounges they will serve you at your table rather than you go to the bar, again they are quite quick with the service although the bar tender tends to work at a much slower pace. It got to the stage of getting double drinks so I didn't die of thirst. The drinks themselves can be hit and miss. My wife was drinking Diet Coke and at times it tasted like cheap Rola Cola or a supermarket brand. The beer was Bavaria which is OK or you could get Cisk on the all inclusive. Some premium brands spirit's are available as well, moved onto Johnnie Walker whisky as the local wasn't that great. The coffee machine wasn't working in the upstairs bar during our stay! The food was very average during our stay, had several theme nights I.e Italian, Maltese etc however the Italian was acceptable with the carbonara lacking taste. The desserts seemed repetitive and on the Maltese night the choice was very poor, thank goodness for the food truck outside. The outdoor pool area had quite a lot of sun loungers so never a problem finding somewhere. The floor can feel slippery at times even when it wasn't wet and the pool steps were loose and rickety. The hotel is quite remote although you're only a few minutes walk from the bus stop or Bolt is available.
Of an evening if you book with certain travel operators you get allocated tables in the restaurant which can be quite frustrating for others.
On the day of your departure your wrist band is taken off of you at 12 and you are no longer allowed to use the all inclusive. Something to bear in mind.
There is a nice beach (Ghadhira) 3 bus stops away or just over a mile if feeling energetic.

Overall it was an OK stay but I won't be looking to return.
