An exclusive 5-star resort and spa, this hotel occupies a spectacular site on the edge of a cliff overlooking what is considered one of Malta's finest sandy beaches. The hotels extensive guest facilities include two outdoor pools, an indoor pool, a children's pool and a private sandy beach with watersports. There is also a spa offering a wide range of health and beauty treatments, and the popular resorts of St. Pauls Bay and Bugibba are close by.

Fabulous stay at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa
My partner and I have just returned from a fabulous 5 nights stay at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Golden Sands, Malta. On arrival, we were met by Ankit Pathak, the Front Office Manager, who checked us in and gave us information about the hotel. He provided exceptional service during our stay, along with the rest of the front desk staff. All the staff we met were warm and friendly, including the bar/restaurant staff, pool staff and cleaners. We stayed in a deluxe seaview room (3539) on the 5th floor, overlooking the Golden Sands Bay. This is a spacious room and includes a balcony, and a kitchen area with a hob, microwave, fridge, and sink. The onsite indian restaurant, The Essence of India, serves delicious food, amongst the best we have had anywhere. We visited twice, and it's a shame it's not in England! We did not use the main buffet or any other onsite restaurants in the evenings, choosing to eat out in either nearby Mellieha or St Pauls, both only a short 10-15 minute taxi ride away. There is a nice adults only pool for those guests who do not want to be around children, and a private beach area too if you prefer the sea (we did not use this). The hotel also has a great spa, a gym, a small shop selling groceries and drinks etc, and a Club Lounge, which we used before leaving the hotel, where one can get a coffee or water, and includes TVs. The hotel is in a great location to visit Gozo or other nearby islands and attractions. We would definitely stay here again if returning to Malta.

Hotel needs refurbishment, and a responsible Manager
The hotel needs refurbishment. Given that this is a Radisson Blu, I expected a higher standard than I have experienced at comparable hotels in other cities.
More concerning, however, is the way the hotel presents its waterfront facilities. Its marketing materials and on-site billboards indicate that the hotel has a private beach and a designated swimming area, and they promote a local watersports company. During our stay, an employee of that company nearly hit my son with a jet ski while he was in the swimming area.
When I raised the issue, the watersports company’s manager stated that there is no designated swimming zone and that the hotel does not have a private beach because the area is public. This directly contradicts the impression created by the hotel’s advertising.
The Radisson manager provided only a verbal assurance that he would “take care of it,” without explaining what action would be taken or accepting clear responsibility for guest safety in an area promoted by the hotel. This lack of accountability was extremely disappointing.
Overall, this was a very unfortunate experience.
Customer service redeemed themselves
Customer service redeemed themselves after becoming informed about the issues I raised in a previous review. I appreciated the Manager, Ankit seeking us out and moving us to a suite, which was much more comfortable and the expected standard of a 5 star hotel. We did enjoy our stay, and would return if we could stay in the same suite! Still a couple of negatives, the sunbed 'police' went a little too far, it felt like we were at school having to put our hands up when in the pool to claim our sunbeds! They patrolled the pools about every 30 minutes. I do understand why they are checking, but it was a little over the top and unnecessary. We encountered a couple of rude staff in the flavours restaurant. Unsure why, as we were always polite and friendly towards them. Also, some staff at the towel station were quite rude. I still do not believe we should be charged for water at dinner, when booked for half board. A 5 star establishment should provide this free of charge.
I would also like to add that the dessert chef is amazing. The desserts were the best I have encountered on any holiday. We also had afternoon tea in the Mokka bar. I have to say I think this is extremely good value, there was so much for two, we couldn't eat it all and it was very lovely. I highly recommend. We may return one day.

Wonderful Experience at Radisson Blue ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had an absolutely wonderful and memorable experience at Radisson Blue From the moment we arrived, everything was excellent—the beautiful ambience, relaxing atmosphere, hospitality, and especially the service made our visit truly special.
A very special thanks to Atharva for making our experience even more amazing. His professionalism, friendly nature, attention to detail, and genuine care towards guests really stood out. He made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout our time near the poolside. His service was warm, attentive, and truly appreciated.
The poolside experience was fantastic, and Atharva played a big part in making it so enjoyable and relaxing. It is not often that you come across someone who goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcomed and valued.
We truly appreciate the wonderful hospitality and the efforts of the entire team. We will definitely cherish this experience and would be happy to visit Radisson Blu again.
