The Primera Hotel has the look of a perfect holiday hotel. With 95 rooms spread over 8 floors, it has a more intimate feel than some of Bugibba's larger hotels and the service is very attentive.
The beach is just a minute's walk from the Primera Hotel. The main Bugibba square is practically on your doorstep, and the shops, bars and restaurants are all close at hand. You're right at the heart of things here.
The Primera Hotel bridges the gap between the very small and very large hotels giving travellers another option – it's perfect for couples, as well as small families. In short, it is a wonderful holiday retreat.
Bugibba has so much to offer you. The distinctive pebbly beaches are perfect places to explore or to picnic on; and those large flat pebbles make a surprisingly comfortable sunbathing spot.
You can also sunbathe back at the Primera Hotel. The hotel sun terraces are nicely elevated, affording some wonderful views out over the St Paul's Island and the open sea beyond.
In between jaunts out, or spells on the terrace, you'll enjoy the calm of the hotel; its spacious communal rooms making it the ideal place to meet and greet and take it easy between outings. Do make sure you leave plenty of time for breakfasts and dinners in the hotel restaurant. Or, if you're rushing off to your next adventure, there is a handy snack bar too.
With 82 rooms spread over 6 floors, guests at the Primera Hotel enjoy a balcony room, as standard, and, of course all are fully air conditioned to ensure a comfortable night's sleep. Rooms also benefit from satellite TV, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, safe (at a charge) and direct dial phone.
With its enviable location, within easy reach of the sea and all the amenities of Bugibba, the Primera Hotel is a popular destination for holidaymakers. Behind its sunny façade is a warm welcome and a great base for your holiday.

The Primera Hotel occupies a central position in Bugibba just a couple of minutes walk to the promenade. The facilities of this modern hotel include sun terraces giving views of St Paul's Island and the open sea. The public rooms in the hotel are spacious, comfortable and air-conditioned and the restaurant offers buffet style breakfast and dinner. A foreign exchange is also available.
The hotel is within 5 minutes walking distance to swimmable rocky beaches and the promenade. I was disappointed by the appearance of the hotel The hallways and rooms are dark and painted a dark grey. The room was small and the balcony barely had room for one person. The beds were super soft and linens were sparse. The A/C functioned poorly in the room. The rooftop pool is small, but there is a nice sunning area. Pool towels are not provided by the hotel, but are sold for 8 EU! The basement floor pool and 'gym' felt like a sauna and very small. The staff were nice.
Booked bed and breakfast. Breakfast poor quality and the same every day. Very little choice. Cleanliness excellent as were the staff. No evening meal as advertised, disappointed with accommodation, balcony small and has concrete surround, I felt like I was in a concrete coffin. Only one small chair in room.
A very sweet, quaint and central stay in St Paul’s. So close to the beach and can see the sea from the rooftop pool. Rooms are simple and clean and cool with lovely balconies looking into all the restaurants. Mostly it is the lovely staff here, I would like to personally thank both Paul’s (happy birthday again to one) and the other made my birthday so lovely. Both made myself and my partner laugh and fixed and small issues in a heartbeat. What great additions to the hotel. Having great staff really makes the difference and all the staff were so friendly and kind. I would 100% stay here on my next Malta trip. Thank you again, Primera!
A great hotel with good local connections to transport, restaurants and other needs in Malta. The room was basic, clean with professional housekeeping staff. I found some staff more personable than others but all were helpful. The rooftop pool was probably my fave part of the hotel with lots of un used space. At capacity I can imagine it gets busy up there but everytime I went up it was so peaceful with ample room for everyone. I didn’t try the hotel food so I cannot comment. I loved that there was a gym free to use and the indoor pool where u can find locals for chats and recommendations. The indoor pool helped when needing to stay cool and out of the sun. A very quiet atmosphere and when doors are shut etc you can’t hear anything from outside. I thought it was excellent value for money and I would recommend!
I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. I would say it does all the basics fairly well. Check in was quick and easy, and the staff on reception and around the hotel were very friendly and helpful. They were able to provide extra information, such as bus route maps for the island, and offered use of a towel after check out in case we wanted to use the indoor pool/showers. The room itself was very comfortable, a double made up of two twins pushed together, as it was only me I was quite happy on just one single. Was pleasantly surprised to find a fridge, kettle and selection of tea/coffee in the room. Decent amount of storage in the wardrobe and plenty of drawer space for me. The air con is a little bit noisy, but it does the job of keeping you cool, and it didn't prevent me from sleeping. For the price paid (around £30 extra for 5 nights) I think the breakfast represented good value. If you want a full English breakfast, there are plenty places nearby. Still, there is a small range of cooked items, besides the usual cereal, pastries, cold meats and cheese. Personally, I didn't use either the indoor pool or rooftop pool, the latter is really only deep enough for padelling, but another guest I became friendly with said they were rarely full and the rooftop was good for lounging or sunbathing. The location is excellent for the centre of town, close to the waterfront and main restaurants, and about a 15 minute walk to the bus station from where you can get to most parts of the island.
