Ideal for beach vacationers, this hotel lies in Amboula, just a few steps from the sandy beach. There is a bus stop right next to the building. It is about 6 miles to Zakynthos (ZTH) Airport. The hotel has an elevator and features 161 non-smoking rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. A laundry service and a lounge are available. The hotel offers a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Everyday necessities can be purchased at the supermarket. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the parking lot. The standard amenities of some rooms include a balcony or terrace, providing extra room for relaxation. A safe and a minibar are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. A flatscreen television with satellite channels and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable vacation. A hairdryer is provided in the bathrooms. As an extra convenience, bathrooms provide cosmetic products.
Dip into one of the 3 outdoor swimming pools or enjoy other recreational amenities, which include a 24-hour fitness centre. This Mediterranean hotel also features complimentary wireless Internet access and concierge services.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
My partner and I stayed here for a week and had a lovely time. The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. We purchased the My Favourite Club upgrade when booking and we were really happy we did. It gave us a lovely room with a great view, and the pool area that you get with MFC is stunning. The steps down to the jetty were our favourite part, as it means we could pop in the sea without leaving the hotel and without getting sand everywhere. The water was so clear, it was lovely. Food was ok, we did get to sit in a different area of the restaurant with the MFC, however this wasn't staffed so there was the odd occasion that someone without the MFC bands were there - which isn't the end of the world but should be something the hotel looks into considering how much more you have to pay for MFC. The buffet is fairly small, but the food was nice. We ate outside of the hotel 3 of the nights out of the 7, and had lunch out three times which meant that the buffet didn't feel too repetitive. Location of the hotel is great, there's a street outside the hotel which has a few bars, restaurants and shops, as well as rental places where we rented a buggy for a day and organised a boat trip from. We went to Tsilivi which is a 10 minute taxi away which cost 11 euros each way, and Zakynthos town which is 25 minutes away and cost 20 euro each way. The hotel organised this for us and gave us the number to sort a return taxi which was helpful. Nice atmosphere in the hotel, and the entertainment was good for what we experienced. You do get the better cocktails and drinks options with MFC so that was nice to have. Overall would definitely recommend if you want a relaxing break, with the options of going out if you'd like. I think the MFC upgrade is worth it, however we got this in a deal when we made the booking so appreciate it's a big extra cost.
I would like to give the resort a better overall review, but the problem is that you really need to upgrade your holiday for a “good” holiday. The hotel staff are very friendly and they work tirelessly. We paid for my favourite room with a front see view. Lovely view and the infinity pools were always easy to get at any time and the pools themselves were always virtually empty with only one or two people in them. The check in experience was not as expected, as we were informed it would be a personal check-in, but we were just handed ‘normal wristbands and told that the buffet was about to close and come back after 3pm. The points that really do reflect my overall experience was that the main buffet was lacking in variation. The salads were very good and you could mix and match. The problem was variation in the food, not really any difference each day. The food temperature varied, and even when it was replenished was somewhat cooler than expected. Breakfast was good, but again not varied enough and different temperatures experienced each day. Drinks are okay, not lots of variety due to that all too end spirits were chargeable. The staff were good and worked hard and were helpful. The room was good, having paid for the upgrade, but was a bit tired, but cleaned daily. TV channels were again, minimal, not that this is a point that spoils the whole experience, but it would be good to watch the news or listen to music or watch a late night movie , especially as the entertainment was hit and miss. With a DJ , Greek music, and an acrobatics/ dancers during the stay. As we paid for our favourite club, we could dine at the speciality restaurant as many times as you wanted. Unfortunately the menu was not very varied and repetitive. The food itself was good, but the portions were too big and we could not really enjoy all the dishes. But the staff really made the best part of the restaurant and hotel in general. Would I return, no, as it was just not great. But for a good week away in the sun, it was good. The little pier that allows you to have a dip in the sea was a lovely place to go for a nice cooling swim. My tip - upgrade to get a lovely view and the areas around the infinity pools in the favourite club are really nice and easy to get sun beds at any time of the day. (We did travel at the beginning of September)
AluaSoul Zakynthos is definately not a 4 star resort for the standard/non MFC area. The views are beautiful, food is ok and the staff amazing but the rooms & pool are not great and let it down. After checking in around 3pm it looked as if the floors had not been cleaned prior to our arrival & there were ants. This was reported to reception & when we returned after dinner the floors had been done. Still had ants the following day though and discovered what looked like a mouse dropping on the floor although no sighting of anything. This was again reported & rectified quickly (cleaning & spraying) & no further sightings. The bathroom had seen better days with mould on the silicone & the bottom of shower screen filthy. The above was reported to our tour rep, not to complain but to make aware & were told she would ask for a room move but the hotel was full however the hotel would like to give us a goodwill gesture ( I suggested a day pass to My favourite Club) but no one from the hotel came back to us with any gesture! Our room had no airer/dryer outside so had to peg wet towels/swimwear to the back of the terrace chairs to dry. The pool was not cleaned properly. The pool guy used the same brush for the lounger area to brush from the shallow end into the pool. As a result the pool was constantly cloudy and sand & dirt on the bottom. Almost every hand rail (there are areas with stairs) were loose & rattled when used. The hotel do not supply bottled water as part of the All Inclusive ( 2.50 Euros to buy small bottles) but there are water dispensers dotted around so take your own water bottles to fill. However, on 2 occasions I tried to fill our bottles & the dispenser was empty with no refill to replace. We still enjoyed our time away however AluaSoul & Jet2 need to seriously look at the star rating. The room we had was absolutely not 4 star & have been in better 2 star rooms. You can buy a day pass to My favourite club for 55 euro pp/pd to use the exclusive bar with premium drinks, infinity pools and loungers. We did not do this as we would be back in the same standard room.
Nice pools, especially those available exclusively for My favorite club. Always enough sunbeds. Sweets and fruits were quite good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious with a great view of the sea. Hotel has access to the sea. There's no beach, but ramp directly to the water.
However, honestly speaking, most of the things we had some sort of issues with. Food in the buffet was a bit disappointing: we once got a raw chicken and several times scrambled eggs at breakfast were burnt. Sometimes you can get pretty tasty meals, but it's a lottery. As we payed for My favorite club, we could eat at a la carte restaurant as many times we can. However, you need to book it at least 24 hours upfront, also it wasn't working 2 days out of 7 we stayed for. We ended up eating there once, and the moussaka served there was so dry couldn't finish it. Buffet had much more variety tbh. Apparently My favorite club members don't get access to all sunbeds: once near infinity pools are reserved for the rooms at the ground floor. We had a bath, but it was broken and couldn't hold any water. We filed this at reception, but maintenance couldn't fix it and just said sorry. Drinks were fine, but also quite basic. AIl bars (even for My favorite club) had the same set of drinks available. By far not the best all inclusive we've been to, but definitely the most expensive one. My favorite club is not really worth it.
Before I write my review, I want to say the staff there are exemplary and genuinely couldn’t do any more for you. Franco, Francesco and Tony were genuinely brilliant. The lounge area with the main bar is really nicely decorated with a nice ambience.
Hotel room was very tired looking Bathroom requires a full upgrade - light socket hanging down above mirror, lock on door is broken Main door into hotel room doesn’t shut unless it is slammed shut Tv only has 1 channel with signal (no smart tv which in this day and age is not right) Balcony area had an abandoned wasp nest in the corner that should of been removed Balcony area was a bit tired with a cracked tile on the floor, marks running down the balcony walls could do with being cleaned/repainted
Pool is quite dirty (however there is maintenance out treating it every day) The wasps at the seating areas is quite frankly off putting. We ended up sitting inside during meal time as constantly being swarmed by wasps. The usual fight for sunbeds every morning even though people don’t sit at them for hours
The additional sur charges for snacks even though we were all inclusive. This was our first time doing all inclusive and I don’t think we’d do it again.
The location is quite far out, there are a few bars nearby which are really good. €40 return for a taxi into Zakynthos town.
Overall, nice trip (especially doing a boat tour) but wouldn’t come back
