Domes Aulus Zante is a sophisticated, laid-back, 5-star all-inclusive resort situated on the protected nesting grounds of the loggerhead sea turtle in picturesque Laganas Bay. The rooms at Domes Aulus Zante are bright, fresh, and simply decorated. Each room comes with either a balcony or terrace, air-conditioning, a satellite TV, a hairdryer, and tea and coffee-making facilities.
Take advantage of recreation opportunities including an outdoor pool and a fitness centre. This Mediterranean property also features complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and gift shops/newsstands.
We have just come back from a really lovely week here. There were 5 of us in our party- myself and my husband, both of our mums and our nearly 2yr old toddler and each of us enjoyed our week away. The staff, the hotel, the food and the beach were all great and there’s nothing we could really find fault with! Would like to particularly call out Chara (who was one of the hostesses in the buffet restaurant and worked the main bar in the evening) and Marilou (the Operations Manager) although each and every one of the staff was friendly and helpful. The vibe was relaxed, very family friendly with a bit more of a luxe vibe.
Wonderful hotel,wonderful staff,food at the buffet really nice and plenty of choice .This was our fifth visit to this hotel and will be back next year!
To begin with, I should mention that we were not a typical group: eight adults around the age of thirty, plus my one‑year‑old daughter. We stayed for ten nights, from 22 September to 2 October. I was the main person responsible for choosing the hotel and had gone through a huge number of reviews on TripAdvisor, so I feel obliged to leave my own.
I did extensive research, reading reviews and studying all available information about the hotel. I’m genuinely surprised by comments claiming that the rooms are small, because the hotel describes each room type very precisely on its website, including the layout. We did not choose the hotel based on what would be best for our daughter; we knew we weren’t going to an aquapark, and we were aware that due to turtle protection there are no loud outdoor parties at night. That wasn’t our goal. What mattered most to us was food, drinks, the beach, the sea, and a sense of luxury. Domes Aulus Zante fully delivered – it was an excellent choice.
Rooms We had three of the standard rooms and one upgraded Sapphire Cocon for myself, my wife, and our daughter. We had a minor issue connecting our devices to the TV, but we managed. Everything else was perfectly fine. The room was cleaned daily, everything worked, and the view was wonderful (I’ve added a photo).
Food – the highlight for me We were extremely satisfied. The main restaurant, Monachus, offered delicious and varied lunches and especially dinners. For me, quality matters more than constant variety, and this was the best buffet quality I’ve experienced in Greece. I often found excellent meat dishes in the buffet (various types of kofta), and the live‑cooked rotisserie meats were outstanding. Twice a week there was a themed dinner (Italian and Greek).
Breakfasts were less varied, but it seemed clear that the hotel aimed to cater to the typical breakfast preferences of guests from different countries. Eggs, pancakes, and French toast were cooked live. It wasn’t a spectacular moment of the day, but it was good and we were satisfied.
I also want to highlight the desserts. I’m used to all‑inclusive desserts looking great but not necessarily tasting great. At Domes Aulus Zante, some of them were genuinely excellent. You had to try a few to find your favourites, but that’s hardly a problem. They were clearly made with care and good ingredients.
À la carte restaurants We were absolutely delighted. If someone didn’t manage to book them, I understand their frustration – they really missed out. We visited all of them, and we even managed to go to MEZE twice (the second reservation required trying on the spot).
MEZE gets an 11/10 from me. It was my best experience with Greek cuisine. Fantastic flavours, great selection, and huge portions. You can choose up to three dishes, but unless you’re a group of very hungry, large men (like me, though not necessarily the rest of my group 😊), don’t do it – you won’t finish. The concept is clearly designed for sharing.
Yellow Sea also provided wonderful experiences for our group. I’m not usually a fan of Asian food, but the kimchi chicken I chose was excellent. The rest of the group thought everything, including the sushi, was very good. Portions were again very large.
Tesoro Mio, the Italian restaurant, was also very good. One of the best pizzas I’ve had. Everyone left full and happy.
Surfer Maya is a bit different, as it’s more of a street‑food concept. The burger and pita souvlaki were excellent; the rest we enjoyed less. Portions here were smaller, and you choose one main dish. If I could have ordered both the pita souvlaki and the burger, I’d have been thrilled.
Drinks & Bars We were very satisfied (and we don’t drink lightly). Great quality alcohol and soft drinks. For more demanding cocktails like mojitos, I recommend the main bar – they were always excellent. At the beach bars, proportions were sometimes slightly off, making the drink too sour or too sweet (but simpler ones like aperols sprits - always great!). Other than that, no complaints. The pool bar staff were friendly and worked hard to serve many guests. We never waited long. The main bar was simply outstanding.
As for the bar next to the MEZE restaurant (I believe its name is Just Wanna Have Sun), I only used it while dining at MEZE, so I don’t have any broader impressions to share.
Regarding soft drinks, I really appreciated that the hotel serves real Pepsi from bottles/cans rather than concentrate. The fridges around the resort, where you can easily grab a soft drink or beer, are a great idea. The replenished in‑room minibar also adds a pleasant sense of luxury, even if we didn’t need it much because drinks were available everywhere.
Pool & Beach The pool was already quite cold at this time of year, so we didn’t use it much. We swam far more in the sea, which was fantastic – as was the beach.
Kids Club I visited the kids club a few times during the parent‑and‑child hours. The space was organised so well that I could sit with my daughter, focus on my own things, and she played safely on her own for over an hour. We didn’t leave her under the staff’s care (which is possible for a reasonable fee), as we felt she was still too young. The staff made a good impression, though, and I know some parents did leave their children.
Staff Last but certainly not least, I want to mention the people. The entire staff were kind and helpful – housekeeping, restaurant teams, bar staff, and reception. We go on all‑inclusive holidays every two years, and I hope I can convince everyone to return to Domes Aulus Zante. I also hope the hotel continues improving, but even if nothing changed, I would happily come back.

We were looking for a relaxing week away and we got it our little boy doesn’t like it being too busy so this hotel suited us as a family with a quiet pool that he didn’t go into as just a little too cold for him but I enjoyed it the beach is perfect very shallow warm water that Arthur could play in.
Food was brilliant we managed to use all 4 of there à la carte restaurants only one we didn’t enjoy as much was the surfer maya we thought it was more of a lunch time place we’d like to eat, the buffet was brilliant lots of choice.
Room was great we started in a serenity retreat room with our own little area to chill when we needed too only downside was the bathroom was a little small but that’s the only downside.
Huge shout out to chara who looked after us all week making Arthur feel at home she really did make our holiday the best we’ve ever had she’s a credit to the hotel.
