Caretta Beach Hotel is a well-organized family destination located in the Kalamaki resort, a renowned nesting area for the Caretta-Caretta turtles—a beautiful creature that inspired the hotel's name. The long sandy beach is just a short walk away and can also be reached via a private bus.
Situated 850 meters from the beach, Caretta Beach Resort & WaterPark features a water park with six slides for adults, six slides for kids, outdoor swimming pools, a wave pool, and a lazy river. The front desk is available 24/7 to assist guests. Dining options include three restaurants—two buffet-style and one à la carte—offering a variety of local and international cuisines. Guests can also choose from three bars and a snack bar for quick refreshments and light meals.
All rooms at the hotel are equipped with a wardrobe, air conditioning, and a flat-screen TV. The private bathrooms include a bath and a hairdryer, ensuring a comfortable stay for all guests.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We stayed 14 nights at the resort My honest review. We stayed in the should I say old part, room was nice for what we needed, cleaned regularly, only downside was our really small balcony, and with the aircon unit on the floor made it impossible to sit out at anytime while aircon was on due to hot air blowing. If you’re going in summer pay £20 for an extra key ( you get it back) so you can leave electricity on and aircon.
Main pool get busy so we avoided that area only for bar and snack bar, there are a few bars and pools dotted about to relax and good for kids Water park.. bit dated but good for kids, not all flumes are open all at same time though due to I presume under staffing and safety Lots of sun loungers so no need to get early unless you want to stay near kidds area. Food in all was great, lots of choices for everyone, ok it’s all inclusive and maybe the same but it’s good to try everything even local foods. We tried the Italian restaurant on 2 occasions which is more relaxed and really good but don’t expect authentic Italian food, if you want authentic pop to Italy. Snack bar good, no queues fast service, more or less the same everyday. Drinks are good, mocktails for kidds, soft drinks, good choice of adult drinks and beer is drinkable not like some other all inclusives. Staff… amazing and very helpful and polite. We didn’t stop in the evenings for entertainment as we found a nice bar we used for cocktails etc but what we heard and saw when passing looked good and not too busy In all we had a lovely holiday and the hotel complex is very good and well maintained. The entrance is very dated as are the kidds rides which you pay for but nothing to worry about
Would we go back Yes but in a more modern room which are available Swim up rooms, not that we used them but I wouldn’t have one as not really private and I can only imagine the shallow pool get hot like a bath so not really cooling.
hard to beat this hotel, spotlessly clean perfect location the staff are so helpful , friendly and fun , 2nd time staying here will definitely be back x
Another great family holiday here ,bar staff were great ,Fotis ,Nick ,Maria so friendly, ,great food and entertainment team Tara and Hakem were so friendly and really made our holiday special we had great fun water volleyball and my baby grandson absolutely loved them always made time to talk to us and loved all water games xx
Stayed in August as two families 2x adults and 2x kids each family.
If this was a review on the water park and staff in the waterpark and restaurants/bars/cleaners, we would likely give this a five star.
However, food - average - yes we expected mass produced for an all inclusive, however there was next to no variety in options (and we have stayed in similar all inclusives where there are theme nights and variety so it’s possible).
Late check out was a farce. Accepted days before, told it was available then given vague options for over 24 hours before being told it wasn’t possible. Lack of clarity and communication were the biggest issue here. Just say no up front.
OGs restaurant was not great, wouldn’t recommend. Pleasantly surprised by the Italian.
Changing facilities for those not able to hold a room for late check out were sub standard. A slippery death trap, no kind of air ventilation or anywhere to safely store dry clothes to change into, an absolute joke.
Area of Kalamaki itself is great, located on the strip so loads of restaurants, shops and bars - we ended up eating out for half of the week and can say they were the most enjoyable nights we had. Pandesia, Buon Amici and Bullhorn Steak House are great food options, as well as Speakeasy and Divine for drinks options.
Won’t be in a rush to return here especially for the price.
We are so sad to be leaving, had a fantastic stay at the Caretta Beach. Lovely hotel with fantastic staff. Big shout out to the entertainment team, in particular Hakem and Tara, who were so much fun and our kids had a great time… we hope to come back again next year!
