The hotel invites guests to spend their holidays on the beautiful island of Zante. It aims to provide the traditional principles of hospitality with high standards and comfort. The hotel is located 5 km from Zante town and the main port, 6 km from Zakinthos International Airport and 2 km from Laganas, where guests will find plenty of nightlife spots and the tourist centre.
There are 95 guest rooms at this club resort. The premises are air-conditioned and guests are welcomed in a lobby. 24-hour reception and check-out services are available. Facilities include a currency exchange, cloakroom and lift access. Other facilities include a mini market, satellite TV in the TV lounge, car hire and safety deposit boxes at the reception (a local charge applies). Guests can wine and dine in the bar and restaurant. The hotel's young friends can spend their time happily in the children's playground. Internet access, a laundry service and a car park are also on offer and bicycles may be hired on site.
All the rooms have a beautiful balcony and are surrounded by gardens. They are spacious and tastefully furnished. There is an en suite bathroom with a shower, bath and a hairdryer. Each room is equipped with air conditioning (July and August), a double bed, telephone, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. They also have satellite/cable TV, a safe and a radio.
Guests can take a dip in the large outdoor swimming pool or relax on the terrace on sun loungers under the shade of the umbrellas and experience unique moments in the hotel's wonderful garden. Guests can keep their children amused in the kids' pool. Refreshments are available throughout the day from the poolside snack bar. Guests can also enjoy a game of pool (fees apply). Sun loungers and parasols are laid out on the sandy beach and are available for hire.
Guests who have booked half board can enjoy a full buffet breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant, which serves a variety of Greek and international cuisine.
Be sure to enjoy recreational amenities, including an outdoor pool, a hot tub and bicycles to rent. Additional amenities at this property include complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and an arcade/games room.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Due to a rescheduled hotel move with TUI we were moved to this hotel pre the holiday We had stayed here in 2015 and whilst some things have changed the fundamentals have not
So the hotel is still very well kept the pool area has been refurbished and a new jacuzzi and the garden area is now slabbed rather than sunbeds on the grass
I do think on this note and seeing some very nasty slips and falls on wet slate slabs the hotel need to rethink this and put some fixed non slip mats in as wet signs don’t cut it when guests are slipping and sliding all the time its dangerous The rainstorm on our last day made the tiles and steps lethal
The rooms are spotless the maids work very hard and very well kept apart from the showers which are hand held unless you are 4 feet tall but they were a good but a walk in showers in next refurb as again the bath and floor very slippery
The restaurant is very clean it was a pleasure to see George who used to do the soup rounds with his tureen in 2015 we had a good chat to him about the changes particularly since Covid
The food is good however it would be nice to see some show cooking and to freshen up the breakfast offering
The issue in the restaurant is the staff they are so miserable and no idea why I managed to chat to one and got her smiling but they must be told to put heads down and don’t engage They need a front of house manager greeting guests a simple good morning evening and a smile goes such a long way it lets the hotel down Also we found out from other guests about the packed lunch that ca be ordered at reception the night before and again about the courtesy room slot booked at reception for your last day of a late flight as room checkout is super early at 10am
The position of the hotel is good come out turn left for the strip turn right for the beach
We do love the beach but the sunbed rental which varies from 15-25 euro depending on where you sit is rather steep so we went far less this time Would we visit again
For a fly and flop on a sunbed at the right price potentially yes but the dreaded entertainment which frankly is awful would put us off this does need improved it was just dreadful and by 11pm we really had enough of it
Also the poor behaviour of some guests towards the staff made us uncomfortable at times as it did other guests who like us sat open mouthed at the way the life guard was spoken too by hotel guests absolutely no need and embarrassing
This is why the hotel needs a visible manager with presence
I’m sure the returning guests each year have a wonderful time but not sure that will be us we enjoyed but like to see different places

Pandesia restaurant who treated hubby like a king on his birthday I did put that he was celebrating a birthday on the hotel booking but this was ignored
Clearly they don’t celebrate guest birthdays which means a disappointment We stayed at the grande next door where they did a birthday breakfast table two years ago great fun
This hotel is pleasant and does what it says on the tin
Oh and I forgot the book club behind reception this is a welcome one
We have just returned from the Birzaro Palace Hotel after spending a blissful week there, it is a beautiful Boutique Hotel, we had a lovely comfortable room which was cleaned every single day, great food with plenty of options and the salad bar was the best. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and always present. This is a hotel that we would definitely return to.
Positives food was good not much choice but hot and as a fussy eater always got something to eat . Reception staff lovely and George in the restaurant bar was nice always had a chat . Rooms clean. Downsides the rest of the staff really grumpy never smile.Aircon is not very good and gets turned off 10 in the morning till 2 in the afternoon so you can’t go back to your room to escape the heat . Definitely not a family hotel we didn’t have children but friends did and absolutely nothing for them in this hotel if you make to much noise in pool they got letters off management complaining. This hotel is probably more suitable for older people but lots of steps .
We stayed at the Bitzaro Palace for a week, 11th – 18th June 2026.
We wanted a quiet relaxing week away in the sun and we got exactly that.
If you are looking for a lively hotel with Kids Club, Animation Team, Nightly entertainment etc. then this is not the place for you.
What you will get is a relaxed atmosphere, great food, good drinks, clean but basic rooms and friendly helpful staff.
The hotel is small, 3 floors, no lifts, 2 bars, one of which is within the restaurant, which is also the Snack Bar, One pool with small kids section and Jacuzzi.
You do need to be up early to get a sunbed right next to the pool, however there are plenty further back if you are not an early riser.
Breakfast is 7:30 to 10:30 the usual buffet style you get in an All-Inclusive hotel, cereal, toast, pastries, cakes, eggs - boiled, fried, poached, scrambled and omelette, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, beans, crepes and pancakes and fresh fruit are all available. The coffee is also very good.
The Snack Bar is open 10:30 – 12:00, you order what you want from the menu and they prepare it for you, there is also ice cream available all day.
Lunch is 12:30 – 14:00
The snack Bar reopens at 14:00 – 18.00 and then dinner from 19:00 – 21:00.
We couldn’t fault the food, there is plenty of variety and although some people were saying it wasn’t hot enough, we didn’t find that at all.
The All-inclusive bar runs until midnight. The drinks were good, your typical All-inclusive beer, not overly strong, but does the job, there are plenty of spirits available, I’m partial to a G&T and this was absolutely fine, There are cocktails available, but no Prosecco (which would have been nice, but no big deal) We liked the white wine, the rose unfortunately wasn’t for us and we didn’t try the red, so can’t comment on that.
We read on some reviews that the staff could be a bit miserable, this is not the case at all.
Special shout out to George and Chris on the bars, Petra and the other lady who works reception in the evening (I have forgotten her name) always happy, always smiling and couldn’t do enough for you.
Tip: if you want bottled water for your room, buy it from George at the Snack Bar, €2 for 6 x 1.5l bottles, cheaper than the local supermarket and you don’t need to carry it far.
You can walk from the hotel to the main street of Kalamaki in about 5 minutes if you do want to venture out to the shops or the bars and it’s roughly a 10-15 minute walk to the beach.
We took the Tourist Train into Zante town which was a nice few hours out, but as we went away with the intention of not doing a great deal I can’t comment on other trips or excursions, however, we got talking to other couples who did do trips out and they said they had some brilliant experiences.
All in All we loved the Bitzaro Palace, so much so, we have booked again for next June and are taking my parents with us.
Just back from this lovely holiday and hotel,very clean,lovely pool view,great staff,excellent food best all inclusive food we have ever had,excellent pool would have appreciated more padded sunbeds as the ones they had were very comfortable but reserved very early each day,always plenty of other ones just need pads for thoes,lovely relaxing entertainment 3 times a week very nice,reception staff always say hello and a lovely wave off to the airport,highly recommend and can't wait to return 😀
