Beautifully clean and modern hotel. Lovely Mountain View from our balcony. Good facilities; 3 pools, gym and spa all great. Gym is in need of a bit of an upgrade but was able to get in and have a few good sessions. Staff helpful and friendly. We had a great stay.
Zante Sun is spotlessly clean with really pleasant and helpful staff who work super hard. The room we had (450) was a good size with a double bed and additional single bed, we were given larger room than we had booked and we appreciated the extra space and the 2 balconies, one with a pool view at the back and one where you could see the sea to the side. Air con was great and room cleaned daily to a good standard. The only thing that would improve the room is a slightly larger bathroom and the shower- which although worked great flooded the entire floor every time it was used - quite annoying! Also the hotel only provide water on the first night - having to remember to buy water each day was a bit of a pain even though it was so cheap, I would expect this to be provided given how much we paid.
The hotel is well located close to the little village of Agios Sostis which had some really lovely restaurants and places to get a drink. You can also swim there although the beach is very narrow.
The supermarket across the road is handy and super cheap, and the cafe next door does coffee which we enjoyed daily as the hotel coffee is pretty average. Service at the pool bar was very good with friendly barmen, and although the cocktails were not great, the beer and soft drinks were good and they had snacks on offer all day such as warm popcorn and fruit pots - there were burgers etc too but we didn’t try them.
The restaurant was fantastic though! Super efficiently organised, a nice space with a really good selection of food at every meal that was fresh,hot and constantly replenished with plenty of options for vegetarians as well as meat which my husband said was good. The salad bar (especially the Greek salad!) was lovely and a real treat every day, as a fussy eater I don’t usually book All Inclusive as I dread trying to find something to eat but this was a really lovely experience and I ate well at every meal. The wine at dinner was also okay and the team in the restaurant are really attentive and friendly.
The pools are lovely and clean with plenty of loungers, the hotel doesn’t allow sunbeds to be reserved before 10 which works well, the pools are relaxed and pretty quiet without loud music or noisy games and the lack of organised fun was very good for us as we are not keen on hotel entertainment!
Laganas is not the nicest of areas but Cameo island is pretty at sunset for a good cocktail and we were lucky enough to see two turtles, in the harbour and also on our trip with Nefis Travel. We hired a car for 2 days from a local company and this was such a highlight, we saw most of the island and some beautiful unspoilt areas of Zakynthos, ate lovely food, swam in some awesome spots and saw some truly beautiful sights, I would urge anyone to do this as Laganas does not do the island justice at all.

Not that great of a hotel. The staff are friendly but on edge. Rooms get cleaned but bed sheets do not. Been here for a week and they are still same sheets..... drinks are OK but if you want a cocktail its Extra and when I mean Extra I mean 12 euros extra. There's no entertainment what so ever. Bars shut at 11pm apart from the sky lounge. 12 euros Extra. I know this might sound negative but it shure puts a sting in your holiday. Plus signs are..... Restaurant is clean and nice. Staff are great at table service.They are local people and if you ask them anything the will help. Just ask them they know.. Changes are needed like an act twice a week to break up the silence. Bar should be open till 12pm. This could change this hotel from being what it now is..
Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Zante Sun Hotel. The hotel is modern, clean and, most importantly, very peaceful. There are no entertainment or animation programs, which we personally appreciated, as the atmosphere around the hotel remained calm throughout our stay.
The hotel has three swimming pools, and during our stay in September we had no major problems finding sunbeds – definitely no early-morning “sunbed wars”, which was a nice surprise.
There is also a small gym. However, it is very basic and probably one of the areas that could use some improvement. The space is quite limited and comfortable for a maximum of two people at a time. The equipment is older and the selection of free weights is very limited, with only a couple of dumbbells available. The hotel also has a spa, although we did not use it, so we cannot comment on the services there.
Regarding the food, breakfast was good and we were happy with the selection. Lunch and dinner, however, could be improved. The variety was relatively limited, although we could always find something to eat. We especially missed a better selection of fresh fruit – even simple options such as bananas were not available.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and always willing to assist, which contributed a lot to the positive overall impression of the hotel.
In terms of location, we would definitely recommend renting a scooter or another vehicle. Most places, including Laganas, are within approximately a 10-minute ride, which makes exploring the area very easy. Walking is possible, but the distances can become a little inconvenient. The nearest beach is rather small and basic and is approximately an 8-minute walk from the hotel, so we would recommend exploring some of the other beaches on Zakynthos instead.
Overall, Zante Sun is a pleasant choice if you are looking for a modern, quiet and relaxing hotel rather than a busy resort with entertainment. With some improvements to the food selection and gym facilities, it could be even better.
We have just spent a week at Zante Sun Resort and honestly, we had a brilliant stay. There are so many positives to mention, and overall we really cannot fault the hotel.
The cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional. You can visibly see how hard the staff work, even from very early in the morning and throughout long shifts, to keep everything clean, tidy and well maintained. Our room was modern, very clean and had air conditioning, and we were lucky enough to have a lovely sea view. The cleaners came in every day to clean the room, with towels changed every other day and bedding changed twice during our week. Although this was perfectly adequate for us, it is worth mentioning for anyone who prefers more frequent towel or bedding changes.
Check-in was quick and easy when we arrived, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. A particular mention has to go to the pool bar staff, Dimitris and Marinos, who were fantastic. The staff at the main restaurant and bar were also incredibly attentive and never failed to make sure you had a drink when you needed one. You could tell that everyone genuinely worked hard to make guests feel looked after.
The food was one of our favourite parts of the hotel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all excellent, with different themed evenings at dinner and plenty of choice. There were always some simpler options available too, which was great for fussy eaters. We didn’t even use the lunch buffet every day because the pool bar offers snacks throughout the day, including fresh fruit pots, popcorn and other options, which was perfect for something quick while relaxing by the pool.
There are three pools, all of which were very clean and surrounded by more than enough sunbeds. One of the best things about the hotel for us was the sunbed policy. Guests aren’t allowed to reserve sunbeds before 10am, which makes the mornings much more relaxed. Despite having lie-ins and going for breakfast quite late, we never once struggled to find a sunbed. This made such a nice difference compared with hotels where you feel like you have to wake up ridiculously early just to get a spot.
There are two other bars as well as the main bar — one by the pool which is open throughout the day until late, and an à la carte bar. The only downside we found was that the à la carte bar was a little expensive compared with drinks at local bars, particularly if you’re going out regularly. This didn’t affect our overall experience, but it’s something worth being aware of.
The location is another big positive. The hotel is far enough away from the main Laganas strip that you don’t feel surrounded by the huge nightlife scene, but close enough that you can easily walk to it when you want to. It’s around a 15-minute walk to the strip, with plenty of local shops and bars along the way. From there, you can catch a bus into Zakynthos Town. There isn’t a huge amount to do in the town itself, but there are some lovely little streets to wander around, with shops and restaurants. The hotel staff are also more than happy to help arrange a taxi if you’d rather not use the bus.
The harbour is only around a 5-minute walk from the hotel, and this is definitely worth visiting. The famous local “turtle man” feeds a wild turtle there at around 6pm, so it was lovely to be able to walk down and see this. Cameo Island is also only around 5 minutes away, and we really enjoyed visiting during both the day and evening.
Overall, we would 100% recommend Zante Sun Resort. We think it’s particularly well suited to couples who enjoy a hotel with a bit more atmosphere and things going on, as well as families with children. It has a lovely balance of being busy and lively without feeling completely overwhelming, while still being in a quieter location away from the main nightlife strip.
The combination of the cleanliness, fantastic food, friendly staff, great pools, excellent location and relaxed sunbed policy made this a really enjoyable week for us. We would definitely consider staying here again and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Zante.
