This is an environmentally-friendly hotel that cares greatly about sustainable growth that has a unique approach to hospitality located in Agios Sostis in Laganas Bay. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the 9 km sandy beach, one of the longest in the Mediterranean, and perfect for exploring the rest of Zakynthos. The place is also conveniently located for the town shopping centre (500 m.) and just 6 km from the airport.
The friendly staff will help guests to hire bicycles or rent a car to see the protected nesting turtles and visit the beautiful landscapes of this, the 3rd largest Ionian island. Otherwise visitors can just sit and relax by the pool and enjoy cold drinks and snacks. A home-made breakfast is provided with freshly-baked bread and cakes, free-range eggs, oranges and plenty of olive oil. Guest's special events are celebrated with a free bottle of wine.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Castelli Hotel does deserve a 4 out of 5 stars for rating. A chilled atmosphere for adults whom are not in Zante for the party experience. Great food for an all inclusive.
I have to say we were very disappointed with our standard double room upon first arrival, it was small which didn’t allow us to make ourselves at home. However when talking to the receptionist, they were more than happy to upgrade us with no hassle at all! We were expecting to pay for the upgrade but they were happy to give it to us for free as the space allowed. The superior double room was much better and we were very appreciative of the upgrade.
We do feel as if we paid a quite a bit for our holiday, and do wish we received a bit more for the amount we paid. However we do appreciate the great entertainment, fantastic members of staff, great food and drink. They also do a raffle with heart shaped wooden pieces which acts as a ticket, where one is pulled out once a week for a prize! As well as at the end of the season, all the tickets are put together and one will be pulled out for a free holiday at the Castelli hotel in the next season!
I do believe the pool area is not large enough to accommodate all the guests for the hotel. There are swim up pools available as well as sun beds in the Olive tree meadow, however towards our holiday we found ourselves getting up earlier to ensure we had a bed space next to the pool for the day.
Castelli is a green hotel which is great for recycling and disposing of waste in the best way possible. It was great to see appreciation for recycling and the efforts made.
The noise level I would rate as quiet in terms of partying etc. However due to the green space around the hotel, you will constantly hear the cicadas! The location is good for a 15 minute walk to the beach, but please note the closest shop is 15 mins away, with bars and restaurants being about 10 mins away.
I would come back to the Castelli hotel, if given a better price package for our trip.
This is a small, family run, all-inclusive hotel where from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you feel like a welcome guest. The customer service is unlike any I've experienced elsewhere. Nothing is too much trouble for these lovely people. From the wonderful, efficient reception staff who never stop smiling, to the delightful Delphine running the well-thought out entertainment and activity programme and everyone in between - bar staff, housekeeping and chefs - this place is a little gem. The food was fresh, seasonal and largely Greek style with plenty of choice. One of the few buffets we never tired of, even after a 9 day stay. The hotel is clean, comfortable and peaceful, despite its proximity to the 'strip'. The only downside is its distance from a decent beach, but boat trips and car hire took care of this on the days we wanted to go further afield. The hotel once again organised this superb efficiency and good prices. Highly recommend for an easy, comfortable, peaceful break.
Castelli Hotel is set in a lovely location , far enough away from all the noise of the main strip with nightclubs and cocktail bars , but close enough to restaurants and bars if you want to go there , only a short 10 minute stroll. Rooms are wonderful with everything you need for a comfortable stay , air con , fridge , tea/ coffee , balcony . There’s a choice of several different rooms depending on your individual needs . Swim up rooms , superior rooms , junior rooms , all either overlooking the pool / garden or olive grove . So many choices on the menus , Chef and staff do a marvellous job with the amount of different foods . The swimming pool has snack bar which served snacks all day , we didn’t get to try any as we were so full from having the meals in the buffet restaurant . Plenty of sun beds round the pool or if you get too hot you can cool down in the olive grove on a sun bed and relax . There’s entertainment at the hotel , daily sessions of keep fit , weaving , darts all throughout the day , in the evening various entertainment from tribute bands , karaoke , Greek dancers and musicians . All the staff are wonderful , so helpful . Reception staff canon sort out anything you may need bike hire , horse riding , taxi, car hire , nothing is too much trouble . We’ve been coming to this hotel since 1994 every other year , it’s not just us that love it , all visitors say how much they love it and will be back . After all it is our Home From Home
We stayed at the Castelli Hotel in Zante and absolutely loved it. It’s a truly charming, family‑run hotel where you’re made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Despite losing a day due to a delayed flight, we were greeted so warmly that the stress melted away instantly.
Spiros, the owner, sits in reception every day chatting to guests, and it creates such a friendly, homely atmosphere. The food was excellent — buffet style, always fresh, with plenty of variety. We genuinely ate like kings. Premium beers and spirits you have to pay for but the local beer and wine we found fine as part of our all inclusive package.
Our room was a few minutes walk away in a separate block from the main hotel. It had good air con and had plenty of storage space.
There is a variety of entertainment throughout the day, we tried the cooking and weaving. Good mixture of nightly entertainment.
The pool area could feel a little tight for space at times, and some parts of the outdoor furniture have probably seen better days, but it didn’t take away from how well we were looked after.
We felt treated like family throughout our stay and would happily recommend Castelli to anyone visiting Zante.
A beautiful small and quiet hotel hidden away in a picturesque olive grove
All staff very helpful and professional
Highly recommended
