Located in the northeastern part of the island, only 250 meters from the beach. The hotel is only 3 km from the bustling resort of Kamari, home to a variety of bars and restaurants and only 8 km from the busy center of Fira, with views of the caldera and volcanic islands.
The hotel is perfect for couples, families and solo travellers alike. It has 65 comfortable and spacious rooms, with a choice of different room types and a diversity of décor: boho-style details, traditional Cycladic architecture with an elegant contemporary twist and baroque-style furnishings inspired by the island's mansions.
All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, flat screen TV with international channels, safe, iron, hair dryer, and minibar. The rooms have a balcony or terrace overlooking the garden, the pool or the sea, as well as small pools located around the rooms.
Just steps from the rooms are our peaceful garden and swimming pool with a swim-up bar that provides our guests with a relaxing good time under the Greek sun. The island's black beach is only 250 meters away.
Our pool bar and restaurant offer an extensive choice of wines and food, drinks, cocktails, BBQ and snacks. They serve brunch, lunch and dinner.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Excellent stay with incredible staff 🥰
For the location, you are quite out of the way from everything. If you don’t drive then taxis are available at all times. We paid on average €20-€40 each trip to Fira and Kamari. The beach is around 10 mins way by driving and 30/40 walking. The atmosphere is very generic, no entertainment available and night time is at times dull. Definitely depends on the guests who are also around you to have a good time. We met some great people and made our stay great. The rooms have everything you need, always cleaned and no issues at all. Only issue was the pool outside our room, it was dirty and caused us to have dirt on our body when we got out. From where our rooms were the noise level was so quite from the main pool/bar area. It is very noisy when breakfast starts (730) and loads of guests are not considerate when it comes to this as you can hear them shouting or talking loudly as well as being able to hear people in the restaurant. The food at the pool bar is amazing and never had a complaint. The portions are well worth the money and you can tell everything is made fresh. I’m very fussy with food and they were able to make amendments etc to ensure my meals were enjoyable. Breakfast is very basic and we were bored by day 3. There is a maket 2 min walk away and you can have food there too which was nice and very cheap. Maria at reception was a great help when it came to asking about things to do and she was always welcoming and so positive. We loved seeing and speaking to her everyday, genuine asset to the hotel. Stella was so lovely when we were at the bar and always spoke to us. The other staff were also friendly and meted out expectations. All round great team.
Location is a bit far from neighbouring villages and towns but easily accessible via taxi (if you don’t drive) for as little as €20. The atmosphere of the resort is very relaxed and welcoming from the moment you step through the door, with Maria on reception who is the most friendliest person and Stella who works at the poolside bar. My room was very spacious and comfortable, good value for the price i paid, mattress was comfortable and the space was clean everyday. As someone who is quite fussy with food the breakfast options felt a bit limited for me, but the menu for the poolside bar did not disappoint at all, couldn’t complain about any of it, and it’s reasonably priced as well.
Location of the hotel is okay, a little bit out of the way from most things. The hotel doesn’t have much of a night atmosphere but the staff in the hotel as a whole are very welcoming. The rooms are cleaned everyday towels every second day and linen every third day. Not sure about other rooms but had a little problem with ants being able to come into the room. Unsure if that’s because it was a ground floor room.
Read my REAL REVIEW.. I feel compelled to write this review after reading all the FAKE REVIEWS..which are 90% of them.., saying how wonderful the staff are, come on ..clearly Al fake reviews..i also didn`t come on holiday and waste my hard earned money to have a relationship with the staff, which were mediocre at best
So we have just returned from the Smy Mediterranen White.., Santorini. Sept 26. I booked this hotel after reading plenty of reviews.., well 4.8 stars must be pretty good eh....WRONG! Clearly false advertising on so many accounts if you read deeper into this Thank god we hired a car from the airport, as the hotel is no where near Kamari for starters, and a rip off taxi ride 6 mins will cost you 20-25 euros each way, as other guests told us, unhappily.. As it is in the middle of no where..! Walking would be quite dangerous and will take you 45mins on unlit roads It is basically at the end of the runway..i kid you not, however the planes pass quickly and didnt bother us
On arrival i was greatly underwhelmed and very disappointed to be honest, but as our daughter was holidaying with us, i felt we had to make the best of it. It certainly didn't have the clean white sparkle as portrayed in the advertising..it fact extremely far from it! A wardrobe or a chest of drawers to put your clothes in would of been nice, but all the room had was an open rusty pole. The wife lived from her suitcase and i dumped my clothes of a shelf. The TV didnt work either. The small window had shutters which were constantly closing we thought we were in a dark cave.. Beds were also rock hard
Next morning we saw the true account. The hotel grounds are not maintained and weeds are growing through everywhere.. The mini pools outside some of the rooms are dirty.. The so called "garden" is a disgrace and run down, and there is a constant smell of sewage around the outside pool toilet areas, and our rooms
The sunbeds were in need of replacing and the cushion loungers were absolutely disgusting and filthy and stained.. Ok so you put a towel on..Lol.. The towels were thread bare in many instances, and supposed to be washed..i dont think so as many of these were stained and smelt bad.. The pool area bar insisted on playing remix dance music for 12 hours a day, so many guests were unhappy and complained.. but they done nothing about it.. So bad was driving our 32 year old daughter to despair..
Ok so now to BREAKFAST if you can call it that.. HOT food would of actually been nice..Cold eggs..cold bacon.. Cold sausage bits...cold beans. Only thing hot was the toast! We are retired and have travelled quite extensively and this has got to be the WORST breakfast and service we have ever encountered. Two choices of cereals, no english teabags .earl grey and green tea. The breakfast milk was warm and they were constantly had no glasses, no tea spoons, it was absolutely pitiful..
Maid service for the rooms were just the basic.., maids were issued with a mop and an Aldi bag shopping bag of cleaning products Many guests were unhappy, and one couple had contacted their rep to come and view the place while they were there. I am really surprised this hotel is still operating.. It is in dire need of refurbishment. Oh and the beach is 1/2 mile away and uninhabited
Stay there at your peril if you will.. If you are reading this and about to travel then i strongly suggest you choose another hotel, and one maybe that is actually near Kamari. We travelled out as much as we wanted. We drove into Kamari most evenings to eat, which has a great variety of nice restaurants. Galini and Mario tavernas both served really nice food and more local too. We made the best of a really poor choice
