Costa Grand Resort and Spa

We stayed here for 9 nights as a family of 3 and it was wonderful. Firstly, we were in a sea view room with a mezzanine floor. It meant we had a lot of space with 2 balconies plus a double bed and 2 twin beds. We had a couple of small issues which required maintenance in the room. They literally arrived within a couple of minutes of me calling reception and the issues were both resolved within 5 minutes - amazing service. Housekeeping was excellent in the room and around the hotel.

We had lunch on our last day in the hotel restaurant. It was very good and I think we would have eaten more if there was pool service. I think the hotel is missing a trick not having staff walking around the pools asking if they can get drinks/food for people. There is a QR code on the pool tables but you have to go down to the restaurant to place an order which means a lot of people just don’t bother.

The hotel is located right at the end of Kamari beach. There is a wide choice of bars and restaurants to choose from. Our favourites were Spring and Splash. There are also many shops selling holiday essentials, gifts, clothes and food/drinks.

It is also very easy to visit Fira and Oia from Kamari using the local bus service. It’s 2.20 euros per journey per person to Fira and then the same again up to Oia. We went to catch the bus one day but miscalculated the times so it would have been an hour wait. I used my uber app and we were picked up within 5 mins.

Other people here have commented on the planes overhead. You get used to it very quickly and it is actually quite a novelty - don’t let it put you off the hotel.

Just outside of the hotel gates, there is a water sports centre with jet skis etc. My husband and daughter hired a kayak and enjoyed the experience.

The local people make you feel very welcome. They really appreciate the tourists and you get to know one or two faces if you walk up and down the seafront every night. The whole place felt very safe so great for groups of girls travelling together or solo travellers.

Santorini is stunning. It takes your breath away when you visit some of the places. It’s one of those places you have to see in your lifetime. We loved it!

The highlights of the hotel for me were the sea views, the room quality, the service and the proximity to Kamari’s restaurants and shops.

We had an unforgettable stay at Costa Grand Hotel in Santorini and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting the island.

When we first arrived, there was a small mix-up with our room, as the one we were initially given was already occupied. While this was an unfortunate start, the way the hotel handled the situation completely exceeded our expectations. The hotel manager personally apologised, upgraded us to a beautiful room with a private pool, and then went one step further by offering us the chance to spend the second half of our holiday at their sister hotel, Orama Hotel in Fira.

This turned what could have been a negative experience into something truly special. We enjoyed three relaxing days by the beach in Kamari, followed by three days exploring the stunning town of Fira. It genuinely felt like we had two holidays in one, and it’s something we’ll always remember.

The staff throughout our stay were exceptional. Every member of the team was warm, friendly, professional and genuinely eager to make sure we had the best possible holiday. Their customer service was outstanding, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble.

Our room was spotless, modern, comfortable and very well air-conditioned, which was greatly appreciated in the Santorini heat. The facilities were excellent, the pools were peaceful and beautifully maintained, and having direct access to the beach made it the perfect place to unwind. The hotel also sits at the quieter end of Kamari’s promenade, meaning you’re only a short walk from fantastic restaurants, cafés and shops while still enjoying a calm, relaxing atmosphere.

The breakfast each morning offered plenty of choice with fresh, high-quality food, and the hotel itself is beautifully designed with a contemporary Cycladic style that blends perfectly with its surroundings.

What impressed us most wasn’t that a mistake happened,these things can occur anywhere, but the way Costa Grand responded. They turned a minor issue into one of the highlights of our holiday through genuine care, generosity and exceptional hospitality.

Thank you to the hotel manager and the entire Costa Grand team for making our first trip to Santorini so memorable. We left with amazing memories and would absolutely stay here again without hesitation.
