Lovely hotel. Staff very helpful especially Mina. Nothing was too much trouble and she was very knowledgable. Lovely pool. Room was cleaned every day and towels and bedding changed regularly. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Close to everything, beach a 5 minute walk but quiet and relaxed.
Location: couldn't be better. Close enough to everything without being bang in the middle.
Rooms: could probably do with a few bob spent on them but were clean and serviced regularly.
Breakfast: a bit basic but standard hotel fare for the area and there are plenty of places around if you want something more substantial.
Atmosphere: the star of the show is Mina. Absolutely nothing was too much bother for her - indeed Mina was always one step ahead of everything. For example on one of the cooler days we had while we were there, we were sitting outside when up popped Mina with blankets in case we were feeling cold. Mina added lots of little thoughtful touches throughout our stay and every encounter was absolutely hilarious.
At the end she steadfastly refused to take a tip commenting only that it was her job and it had been her pleasure to serve us. An absolute credit to her employers.
Booked at the last minute, Santorini and Acqua Vatos were recommended by a travel agent, what a brilliant bit of advice. Santorini is a beautiful island and Kamari is a brilliant resort. Acqua Vatos is a small hotel but perfectly located only 100 metres from shops and restaurants but not affected by noise. We were welcomed by Nina who was very welcoming and helpful our whole trip. We went for a basic double room but it was absolutely fine, spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed and an excellent bathroom (lovely shower and plenty of storage. Our board was bed and breakfast and we both thought the breakfast was absolutely fine, you would have to be very picky to say that there was not enough - quantity and choice. We ate outside every day which was perfect, there were some tables inside but we preferred being outside. The resort has a great choice of bars and restaurants all within easy walking distance of the hotel, It was very easy to get around the island using public transport which cost 2.20 Euros per journey, admittedly the buses could get very crowded but we never failed to get on. Our first trip to Santorini but, hopefully not our last. The hotel may be to small for some people and lacked facilities that some might want, e.g. a bar but the pool was great on a return from the beach even if iwas colder than the sea!
Quiet and peaceful. Close to the beach. Kamari is perfect for a relaxing stay and very close to the capital by bus. Enjoyed my stay.
Hotel overall was pleasant rooms were small but clean and shower excellent. For a double room could do with 2 chairs in the room. Fridge was noisy and during our stay noisy so we unplugged it. We stayed by pool area for first afternoon but it wasnt pleasant mainly covered by trees and the sun beds mattress were poor and ripped. Breakfast was ok but no variety. Expected continental style but one choice of cereal and tinned fruit cocktail each day with greek yogurt. Very little else. Also not enough chairs and tables for a full hotel. Perhaps late in the holiday season but no poolside bar or inside bar open.
