Came here on an all inclusive package with my wife. There are some very good points to this hotel, but a couple of bad things in our personal experience that has made me Mark it down a bit. The staff are great at the hotel, especially the restaurant staff, who were always efficient and friendly. The room was comfortable, clean and well appointed. The hotel is in a great location for exploring both Rhodes town, and the old walled city. The harbour is also just a short stroll away. The restaurant has theme nights, which were all quite good. Unfortunately, we did have a couple of less positive experiences while staying at the hotel, which is why I've marked it a 3, rather than a 4. As this is a town centre hotel, we weren't surprised that the pool area was on the smaller size, but we were disappointed that there was no policy in place to stop the reserving of the very limited sun loungers. We were constantly seeing towels left on loungers for hours, without anyone actual using them. This basically stopped us from using the pool area, as I'm not prepared to join the sad sacks who rush down at 7am to reserve a lounger they they are not actually going to use. While staying at the hotel, both me and my wife also became ill, and we also heard about a number of others with similar illnesses too. We were all all inclusive guests, so we think it may have been one of the food items that caused it. We had a couple of strange instances, where the cleaners were entering the room, even though it had already been cleaned. We had to get into the habit of always making sure the Do Not Disturb sign was always on the door, when we were in the room. Some of the advertised pictures of the rooms show a sea view. I don't believe that this is possible, as the hotel is behind a partially completed hotel building site. This is a nice hotel, with great staff though, and in a great central location. We just had a couple of negative things happen to us, that may not happen to others.
Fantastic stay at petit palais with my husband. Hotel is in a great location. 5 minutes away from new town. 15 minutes to harbour and old town, both worth a visit. Hotel itself is lovely. Despite previous reviews questioning hygiene I would highly dispute this. The staff are constantly cleaning all areas. Yes there was a viral tummy bug going round which my husband and I both experienced for 1 day. This was by no means down to Hotel hygiene standards or food. Staff cannot do enough for you all work super hard. Stella and Erin were outstanding in restaurant. Komasa at pool bar always smiling and singing and remembers what you enjoy to drink. Full glasses every time. Food was of very good quality and high standard. Great choice at all mealtimes. We are both discerning when it comes to food so this is not said lightly. Overall 4 🌟 would definitely return.
Would highly recommend this hotel and would love to return. Great location in the town centre. I had been worried it may be noisy at night, but this was not the case, slept very well. And no disturbance from the nearby building works. Found and drink were great. Pizza man was a star, best pizza ever. And the chips were amazing, tasted like chips from a UK chip shop. Not that I ate chips all week, the Greek food was lovely! A lovely touch was the free bottled water left in the room fridge, which was really appreciated. In summary, great hotel!!!
Me and my fiance have just returned from a 10 night holiday at the Mitsis Petit Palais. The hotel staff are lovely, the location of the hotel is excellent overall we were very pleased with our stay. The hotel is located opposite a building site, the same hotel group undertaking a full renovation of the Grand Hotel. This didn't bother us at all as our room was on the opposite side of the hotel, and we actually found it quite interesting watching the progress! Our room was one of the smallest, according to the map on the back of the door. This wasn't a problem specifically for us, however there is such a lot of unnecessary furniture in the room, and no real storage space in there. The beside tables had one small drawer in them, and one was blocking the right hand side of the cupboard, so you couldn't access the draw section within the cupboard, which would have provided a lot more space. There was also a storage bench with one deep draw, and the cupboard for hanging, which was again difficult to access because of the bedside table. For 10 days we did struggle and I think this had a knock on effect for the cleaning staff, because our stuff couldn't be stored out of the way. The furniture was really lovely but just too much packed into a small room. Our balcony looked on to two other balconies, which meant we didn't really use it at all as there wasn't much privacy, and we didn't even open the curtains much for this reason too. For my fellow vegetarian and vegans - the food was hit and miss, not necessarily in quality but meat free choices. My partner eats meat and was really happy with the selection and quality that he had. I had a lovely vegetarian moussaka on evening, but it never came round again. I had a vegetarian lasagna which was very strange and dry, the filling seemed to be grated carrot and chick pea but no tomato sauce? I then had the same filling in a vegetarian quesadilla? It wasn't the most inspiring, and some evenings all i had were potatoes, bread and salad. Breakfast was the best range of vegetarian options for me, plenty of fruit, cereal, yogurt etc and the best french toast I have ever tasted. Also, they cook fresh pizza every lunch and supper time and it was amazing. It was also my fiance's birthday while we were there, and they left cake and wine in our room which was very sweet. I have given the hotel 5 stars as I don't feel the negatives are enough to outweigh the positives. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the old town, and around 30 to the Acropolis but you have the city tour bus and a little train which will take you to all the main sites. There are gift shops and a supermarket about 30 seconds away, and 5 minutes up the street there is an avenue with lots of restaurants and gift shops. There was a very relaxed atmosphere at the hotel, the staff were really accommodating and efficient. We booked the holiday as a package via Jet2, and feel it was really good value for money. Would highly recommend.
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The staff are the big positive, they are all lovely. Nice environment, reasonable location with a lot of building work opposite. Food was average. The hotel itself is a different matter, and the Manager constantly repeating on Trip Advisor that “We take food safety and hygiene extremely seriously and follow established procedures to maintain our standards.” Is not helpful to anyone, least of all your guests. When so many people are reporting sickness you need to stop defending your standards and properly investigate, and rectify any issues there may be. DO SOMETHING instead of being a keyboard warrior. I spent two days in Euromedica on my 20th wedding anniversary with gastroenteritis and spent thousands on medical fees. Those alcohol based hand sanitizers do not kill Norovirus and most of them in the hotel remained empty despite us pointing this out. Frequent cleaning is only effective if the correct cleaning solutions are used at the right times.
More generally, we booked an all inclusive suite. It was not a suite, it’s a large double room with two chairs. The shower is bizarre, positioned halfway down the wall where the shower screen ends. There’s no working fan in the bathroom. A massive air con inverter unit on the balcony ruins time spent sat out there. We arrived at 2140 to be told dinner had finished and plates of food had been left in our room. There was no food left for us but we did find an old piece of salami in the fridge from a previous guest, and only one coffee capsule.This was rectified. The toilet cistern broke and wouldn’t fill, but my husband fixed it, and he had to request a water delivery three times before it arrived hours later. A dry cleaning delivery was made to our room when a ‘Do not disturb’ sign was in place. This hotel lacks attention to detail or possibly some clear processes that are then checked upon. Please, for the safety of your guests, follow up on investigations into the repeated incidents of sickness instead of sitting behind a desk defending yourself, and make sure it’s as safe as it can be for everyone.
