Atlantica Imperial Resort and Spa

Just back from a lovely stay here. Stayed in a swim up room which we loved. Sun til about 3 pm. Although people did reserve sun beds around the pool from early morning we never had a problem getting a sun bed whatever time we went to the pool. Food was excellent. Used the local buses to go to Rhodes old town and Lindos. All seemed to run to time stated. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Enjoyed the entertainment acts we saw. Would definitely come back again.

We are just home after a gorgeous 14 night stay at this wonderful hotel. I’m not sure where to begin. Our experience was nothing short of amazing from the minute we checked in to when we checked out. We were greeted with kindness and a welcoming, warm approach on every single occasion whether that be at reception, breakfast, dinner or with the cleaning staff. Everyone was so friendly and made a real effort to talk to you and ask you how your day was, how you slept or how you were generally. The front of house staff were all so lovely to us, we felt a sense of family and belonging everytime we spoke to them. The hotel complex itself it’s absolutely wonderful, it is vast and spacious and the facilities are immaculate. What I would say is that the indoor pool could do with being heated even in August, it was absolutely freezing way too cold to enjoy or use which is unfortunate as it was a lovely facility. The hotel backs on to Kolympia beach, and you can walk down a slope to get there. This was perfect. We also paid slightly extra for a premium double room with sea view, it was worth every penny and more with waking up to the boats sailing past every morning. We loved the fact that you could use the residences facilities across the road, it has a stunning Blue Bay restaurant which is exquisite and definitely lived up to the fine dining title. If you can, visit here for dinner and watch the sunset, the views are amazing. The blue bay staff are a real credit to Atlantica imperial hotel. Their knowledge on all of the food and dishes was second to none. Hats off to all of the catering staff the food on a whole was very tasty, fresh and broad. We felt there was something to suit everyone’s taste and preferences. The hotel itself it’s spotless, it always smells clean and fresh wherever you go - I saw cleaning staff multiple times across the hotel, you could really notice how hygiene is a very important aspect of the hotel. The hotel is home to a family of several black young cats that I and many others looked after during our stay. the hotel ask you not to feed them, but they were hungry and I made sure they had some food and lots of fresh water. If you see them, please look out for them. They are simply trying to survive in tough circumstances. The hotel accepts donations for their care, food and neutering but I failed to see the mother cat or her offspring neutered, this really needs to be addressed as it would reduce the amount of kittens as the mother has recently gave birth again to another 2. We enjoyed using the hotel shuttle bus on two occasions to Lindos and Rhodes. It was well run for 12 euros pp. it did fail to mention that it picked up guests from other hotels, meaning your time at said destination was limited by around an hour due to all the pick ups, but we enjoyed the service nonetheless. I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved at Atlantica imperial and its joining residences, without you all our stay would not have been no where near as wonderful as it was. We would recommend this hotel to anyone in Kolympia, it is absolutely breathtaking.

Overall we enjoyed our holiday to the Atlantica Imperial. The staff in the buffet restaurant and the lounge bar were excellent. The food in the buffet restaurant is of a good standard apart from the cooking of octopus and squid. (Couldn’t cut through as it had turned to rubber) We also enjoyed our room and the entertainment on offer.

Our main issue with the hotel was with the all-inclusive offer which is quite limited. The package offered an all inclusive meal in 1 of their 3 restaurants on site. The menus in these restaurants are severely limited and you will have to pay for the wine. There are also some strange options not on the all inclusive, bottled water, fresh orange, sushi to name a few. The bar service around the pool is variable with some days good and others not seeing anyone for over 2 hours apart from the glass collectors.

The hotel complex is very large which I think makes it more difficult for the staff to make you feel special. This however has not been the case when we have holidayed in the Caribbean and Cyprus last year.

We did complain to reception about the all inclusive offer. The response was that it was on their app. When I pushed this further they offered a free sun-bed experience on the beach which I declined out of principle.

As I said earlier we enjoyed our holiday but I am afraid we will not return as we enjoy the offer other hotels have to eat in separate restaurants at no additional cost.

A lovely hotel but poor value for money.
