Great hotel, staff, food and everything else you could think off. Lots to do during the day! Including yoga, darts and my favourite the musical quiz in the evening. Would 100% come Back again.
We had very lovely holidays . Athena from reception is very helpful and we always could count on her. Animation team is just amazing - lots of activities during the day : aquagym, darts, waterpolo, volleyball, and evening show - fire shows, music quiz and other - we had were joyful holidays and we would come back. Alex, Evelina and all animation team are just great ! Hope to see you again
I really wish I had more good to say about Mitsis Rodos Maris. Online it had a lot of promise, but 5 stars seems misleading when it's barely a 3 star in practice. The staff here are great, incredibly friendly and hospitable, but what they have been given to work with is extremely poor. We were 'upgraded' to a larger bungalow despite there only being two of us, which seemed promising but when we arrived at the room it was just a large room with four blank twin beds, not even cushions to use one as a sofa. There's nothing 'homey' about it, no art or finishing touches etc. The TV socket was coming away from the wall so the TV didn't work, the swimwear hanger outside was broken, the do not disturb sign was missing and the bathroom was poorly finished with water stains and caulking to try and hide the issues - the wall wasn't even well painted. It took several days for some repairs to be carried out. The poolside toilets were never in good condition either.
The worst part was the food. The tex mex a la carte was so awful that we abandoned our plates and left - there was nothing that asking the waitress would have done to fix it. Nothing was freshly cooked and the chicken nachos had the texture of porridge, the salmon was both overcooked and lukewarm. The Greek a la carte was quite mean portions, but at least it was edible. The gyros was usually cold, but to give some credit the beach side food stands were nice and the crepes were very good. However, if we hadn't found a nearby restaurant, I think we would have left early.
The beach area is nice enough, clean water, comfortable bean bags - it is a bit weird that there is a massive pipe in the middle of the swimming area though. Make sure you pack enough sunscreen because the mini mart on site charges almost €25 for a bottle of nivea.
I wish I had a few more photos of the issues, but frankly it was depressing enough noticing the problems as we were there. Take the photos of the bathroom as indicative if you will.
Please Mitsis - give your great staff something great to work with, because you have some real gems.
The hospitality was amazing ..they upgraded us to a sea view bungalow and the view was amazing.
All the staff are all wonderful and made our stay perfect .
This was our holiday celebrating our wedding anniversary of 19 years and the first without the children and it was amazing , just perfect.!!… definitely will be coming back,
The hotel is a bit older, but the bungalow village with its red tile roofs and columns is very attractive, and the staff is fantastic. Thanks to Stefanos, Despina, Babis, Ioanna, and Dimitris. Beautiful beach, clear water. The new beach beanbag chairs are very comfortable. We'll definitely go back.
