Esperos Village Blue and Spa Resort

Shoutout to Ron Ron and Haris for being such good waiters. It was a pleasure.

We enjoyed a week staying at the Esperos Village Resort. The hotel is amazing, from the friendliness of the staff to the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms and everything else in between. Our holiday was so relaxing, and the resort is really quiet due to where it is situated. There are a few shops if you walk further up, or Faliraki central square is around 10 minutes away by bus.

The infinity pool was so nice, with stunning views. Sunbeds didn’t seem to be an issue, although it was busier in the mornings. We swam later in the afternoon, and the pool temperature was warm enough. The pool also wasn’t too busy at that time.

One of my favourite things about this hotel was the food. Wow. Absolutely amazing! This hotel really knows how to cater for everyone, including gluten-free and vegan options. There were two choices of soup each night, all of which were delicious. Each night had a different theme, such as Mediterranean, Spanish, Tex-Mex, etc. There was also a varied continental breakfast.

The variety of food was fantastic and like no other hotel I have ever been to. The quality of the food was also second to none, unlike your usual standard of half-board/all-inclusive. You certainly won’t go hungry.

The drinks choice is spot on, with plenty to choose from and a variety of cocktails. Entertainment was okay, some better than others — singers, a pianist, and that sort of thing. The lobby is very relaxed if you want to sit inside, with lots of couples just sitting having a drink or playing games. There is also a pool table for €5 per hour. We also noticed a mix of guests at the hotel, with a varied age range of both younger and older couples, which was nice.

The rooms are very well equipped and have an ironing board and iron, hairdryer, glasses, and an espresso coffee machine with pods that are refilled daily if you wish to use them. The beds were also very comfortable. The shower is spacious, hot and powerful, and you are provided with robes too. One thing to note if you book a swim-up room is that the rooms are overlooked by the rooms above, so there isn’t a huge amount of privacy when sitting outside or using the pool.

It’s also worth noting that this is a very large resort on a hill. There are shuttle buses which usually come every 10–15 minutes, although sometimes they took longer. You are taken to and picked up from your room in a minivan with your luggage on arrival and departure days, and the driver will help with lifting your luggage, which is great. I wouldn’t recommend this resort if you have limited mobility.

That being said, the sunset is beautiful in the evenings, as is the sea view from the top of the hill.

You can also get the shuttle bus to the beachfront, which stops outside Ammades Seaside Restaurant & Bar. I’d recommend trying this restaurant, as it has tasty food and drinks and is in a great location with a sea view and sunbeds right in front if you fancy a beach day.

We found the public buses to Rhodes, Lindos, etc. were a little more difficult to find times for, as we had to scan the QR code, but we managed. It would probably be easier to travel by taxi or hire a car, as there are lots of car hire places around.

We would definitely come back and stay again, we both didn’t want to leave - this hotel was everything we needed and more.
