Kivotos Mykonos

July 16-22, 2026. We reserved what is listed as the best room in the hotel — a room with a private pool — at a significant prepaid, non-refundable rate. That pricing structure, we quickly understood, is not a gesture of generosity: it is what keeps guests from leaving once they see the property. The room had not been renovated in decades. The bathtub appeared to date from the early 1990s and had clearly never been replaced. Every surface and fixture — from the bathtub to the toilet seat and even the napkins — was black, which made it impossible to assess cleanliness, and impossible to feel clean. The towels were of poor quality. The beach area was in a state of neglect. Chairs and umbrellas were broken, some guests like us have to sit in the restaurant area because there are only 5 umbrellas for all the guests, and there was visible litter across the beach. The overall décor and maintenance of the property reflect years of deferred upkeep. Nothing about the physical hotel matches the standard implied by its marketing materials or its pricing. We have stayed in many hotels around the world. We do not leave negative reviews lightly. But the gap between what is advertised and what is delivered here is significant enough that other travelers deserve to know before committing to a non-refundable booking. The hotel is decorated with old and used “things” and not antique.

We had the loveliest stay at Kivotos. Staff so accommodating and polite. The view was stunning and our room right by the pool. Dimitre looked after us the entire time and went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. Would recommend and return!

Our stay at Kivotos Mykonos in May 2026 exceeded every expectation we had for a couples’ trip to Greece. From the moment we arrived, the property felt like a private sanctuary—elegant, intimate, and thoughtfully designed to showcase the beauty of Mykonos.

The views are simply breathtaking. Whether relaxing by the pool, dining on the terrace, or unwinding in our suite, we were constantly surrounded by stunning vistas of the Aegean Sea—an ideal backdrop for a romantic getaway. Equally impressive was the service, which struck the perfect balance between attentive and unobtrusive. The team consistently anticipated our needs and ensured every detail of our stay was seamless.

We would especially like to recognize a few individuals who made our experience truly memorable. Faye, the hospitality manager, was exceptional—warm, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful throughout our stay. The entire breakfast restaurant team also deserves a special mention; every single member was genuinely kind and welcoming each morning. We also appreciated the General Manager, who was highly visible and clearly committed to ensuring guests were well taken care of—something that did not go unnoticed.

The food was another highlight—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Each meal felt like a curated experience, showcasing both local ingredients and refined Mediterranean cuisine. Overall, Kivotos delivers a rare combination of luxury, warmth, and authenticity. We left feeling completely relaxed and already looking forward to returning. I would highly recommend it to any couple seeking an unforgettable Mykonos escape.
