Just back from a week at the White Olive, 4 adults and 2 little ones of 4 and 1 and a half. We had a family suite which was incredibly spacious and a double room which was a good size. Bathroom was lovely and clean, no funky smells, and rooms were serviced daily. Pools were fab and we spent most of our time by the waterpark which the little ones loves. The beach is quite small but really nice to spend a bit of time on as a change from the pool area. There were plenty of loungers available beach and poolside. Pool bar served barbecue style food at lunchtime and cakes and pastries in the afternoon. Gelateria was only 1.50€ for an ice cream - worth paying for decent ice cream. Restaurant was very clean and food was presented beautifully. An amazing selection of food to suit all tastes every day. Staff were constantly clearing tables and cleaning up and worked incredibly hard, all with a smile on their face too! The little rc cars were a hit in the evening with the little ones at 10 euros for half an hour. The only bad points I can say are the music was far too loud and non-stop - one day 3 different speak systems playing which was rather overstimulating, the entertainment was rather late at 8.30 for little ones. We booked our taxi back to the airport through the hotel but weren't told it was cash only (no cards) so had to be taken to a cashpoint en route. Cost was 80€, but it was a very luxurious taxi and arrived promptly. All in all a lovely week, dont be put off by the bad reviews!
We had a lovely week from the 1st of September, two adults and two teenagers. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms were very comfortable. The food selection was really good, they also do a BBQ at the pool bar daily. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, a good selection of drinks included with the all inclusive. There's a hut that does crepes, ice-cream etc which is extra but very reasonable prices. The little private beach behind the hotel is nice for a swim, you get lovely views across to Turkey. The pools are really good, the kids really liked the waterslides. They do entertainment daily, although maybe geared more towards younger children. There is a minibus service you can book at reception to take you to Kos town or Tigaki beach etc, you get a card with their details and then WhatsApp when you'd like collected, it is €5 per person each way. I would definitely visit again, the island is beautiful too and the people are very friendly.
Just had 10 days here and had a lovely time. All the staff are brilliant the room was cleaned every day and my daughter thought it was fab that they folded our pyjamas and put her cuddly rabbits all sat up. Restaurant staff work so hard clearing tables the turn around was quick. We had a couple of niggles with our shower and someone was sent straightaway to sort it. We had a standard family room which was huge, we were at the far end of a block and had lovely mountain views. Food was really good the moussaka and lasagne and the salads been my favourite. Fresh pizzas at the snack bar and evening meal always had a queue on. The bus into Kos town does a loop back and forth and white olive is the first and last stop so dead easy to navigate it cost €6 for two adults and 2 kids timings can be a bit off but they do always turn up 😅 Kos town is a lovely place and well worth a visit. We did the 3 island cruise on the Santa Maria which was lovely not a big boat so not overcrowded like some of the others looked. We loved the trip and was the best day of the holiday.
I don't go back to the same hotel but I would definitely recommend this to any one especially younger children. Just need to figure out where to go next year now 😄
We have just got home after our 1 week stay. I am struggling to find anything negative to write. Every single member of staff whether reception, grounds, entertainment or cleaners always greet you whilst walking round and with a smile on their faces. Arrived late (1.30am) and the check in process was quick, golf buggies on hand to help get children and luggage to room. We were in room 2814 (2 bedroom family suite). Very spacious with lots of storage space. Plenty of hangers for clothes too. The cleaning team were fantastic and cleaned the room daily and even the little things like laying the kids pyjamas on the beds show the attention to detail they go to. The room was spotlessly clean. Definitely worth paying for the upgrade if you're travelling with children.
Food- again there was so much choice. Separate kids section in the main dining room with the simple pastas and fish fingers for the fussy kids. For adults there is plenty to suit any taste buds, quite possibly the best food we've had at an all inclusive resort. The pool bar food again doesn't drop in quality. Cakes and biscuits available in between meals and then lunch is made fresh and the 2 chaps work tirelessly to make pizza, chips, chicken and fish. Self serve drinks machines round the pools too which avoids everyone queuing at the bar.
Plenty of sunbeds available and a few sheltered shaded areas too. Lifeguards do really well to keep order on the slides.
The entertainment- we only went a couple of times but it was very good and the kids enjoyed it. There is also lots of sofas in the indoor bar where its nice to relax.
The grounds team are always out cutting grass and making every inch of the White Olive look fantastic and it really shows. One of the handrails became damaged and within 5 minutes it had warning tape up and it was replaced within the hour.
The guest relations lady (forgotten her name) is very friendly and will help with any requests and does with a smile on her face.
Twice a week they have a photo team come in and they do some lovely family/couple photos. €50 for 5 large print outs and they also e-mail them to you.
Late checkouts are available but are on the costly side. €60 for 4 hours, although for what we paid for the holiday compared to other hotels at this price, we feel its still fantastic value overall. We will definitely return.
We arrived as a couple on 1st May to surprise family arriving a couple of days later. Unfortunately the weather was not great and was cold so needed heating on in the room. Our room was advertised by Jet2 as a superior room with garden view, it most certainly was not. Very small with minimal storage and bathroom very compact. The shower area is opposite the toilet and only has a curtain which allows water onto the bathroom floor. There is only one restaurant which is a self service buffet, you also have to get your own drinks. Our first few days the hotel was not busy, but restaurant staff still struggled to keep tables clear and the food topped up. As the hotel got busier this situation got worse and the food was often not very warm, felt like we were back at school. This was a shame as the variety of food was very good. As the weather was not good everyone had to cram into the reception/lobby/bar area with was extremely noisy, with unattended children running around and jumping all over the furniture. We witnessed several chairs and sofas being broken, the staff made no attempt to intervene. This is all a shame as when the weather is good the outdoor facilities would be amazing for families.
