The best family holiday ever! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well, this was honestly the best holiday ever! We travelled as a family of 7 and from the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome.
Everyone was incredibly kind and friendly, but a special big thank you to George and Alan for making our stay even more memorable! ❤️
The food was absolutely amazing, and the Greek night was fabulous — such a lovely atmosphere and so much fun for the whole family.
The pool was clean and never felt overcrowded, and we never had any problems finding sunbeds, which made relaxing by the pool so easy.
The location was also perfect. It was just a few minutes’ walk to the beautiful beach, and the bus stop was about the same distance away, making it really easy to get into the stunning Kos Town.
Everything about our stay was fantastic — the people, the food, the atmosphere, the location and the facilities. We honestly didn’t want to leave!
Thank you to everyone for making our family holiday so special. We will definitely be back! ❤️🇬🇷
I went away with my family of 7 and had the best time ever, everyone was extremely kind and made the holiday experience even better. The pool was lovely and in a great location, food was just incredible and amazing, rooms were always spotless clean and had great air conditioning - the balcony we had was beautiful and views we had looking out onto the sea was insanely pretty. A Big thank you to all the staff there and thank you to George and Alan!!
Just returned from a lovely stay at the Blue nest.
The pool area was clean and we never struggled to get sunbeds even in the afternoon.
The rooms are cleaned to a very high standard every day with clean sheets and fresh towels.
The food at breakfast was basic but adequate, Toast, yogurt, pastries, watermelon and Gala melon. There was a limit selection of cereals and jams etc. You would find something to eat.
The staff are what make this hotel special, the lady on reception is so helpful and will help with booking any trips or hiring cars/ bikes etc.
Would definitely return and recommend.
This hotel is a hidden gem just outside Tigati Kos. Myself My wife and 2 daughters stayed here at the end of July for 1 week. We absolutely loved our stay. The rooms were cleaned every day. Breakfast was served a mixture of meats yoghurt and fruits. The staff were fantastic and entertaining with something for everyone. Alan the barman was great with everyone and made all feel welcome. The menu each night was varied with a Greek special on offer at reasonable prices we didn't feel the need to dine out. The pool was clean and warm with a variety of water toys for the children and plenty of loungers. The owner George made us feel welcome from day 1 and even stepped in and took us to Kos Town when our taxi didn't turn up for out Boat trip. Usually when I go somewhere I only go once but the hospitality on offer here I would book and return again. Thank you to all the staff at Blue Nest and we look forward to coming again.
Holiday Review – Blue Nest Hotel, Kos 🇬🇷
We had a fantastic two weeks in Kos and, ultimately, really enjoyed our holiday. A big part of that was because we decided to make the most of our surroundings and spent most days at the Irena Beach Hotel opposite, which we felt was much better managed.
Unfortunately, I feel the Blue Nest itself has quite a few areas that need improvement.
The biggest positive by far was Alan, the barman. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Alan absolutely deserves the 5-star rating I’ve given for service. This man was brilliant! 👏 He worked incredibly hard with very little help and seemed to have a never-ending list of jobs. He was the barman (and the only one), server, waiter, lifeguard, music organiser and cleaner. At times, he looked completely exhausted.
Tbok, the waiter, was also very good, friendly and efficient.
I genuinely feel the hotel needs more staff, particularly on busier evenings such as Greek night. Having a dedicated lifeguard would take some pressure off Alan, as well as help with the constant wasp problem around the pool.
Anna on reception was pleasant, as was George, the hotel manager. However, we did feel that George sometimes appeared annoyed when we chose to spend the day or evening away from the hotel.
The rooms 🛏️
Our bungalow was very basic. We had a few ants in the room and, in Bungalow 3, the window didn’t lock.
The shower flooded every day. We reported this, but unfortunately it took another reminder two days later before it was looked at.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable 😕 and the only solution offered was a mattress topper.
The maids, however, were very attentive and did a great job.
A kettle and some cups in the room would also have been a welcome addition. There was a fridge, which was useful.
Location 🚌
I also feel the location is slightly misleading.
It’s around a 25-minute walk to the nearest shop and approximately 45–50 minutes into Tigaki itself, so we relied on the bus from the stop about five minutes away.
The buses were €2 each way to Tigaki and €2.50 each way to Kos Town. This became quite expensive over two weeks, especially as taxis were very limited and unreliable.
Food & breakfast ☕
Breakfast at Blue Nest was very basic and, unfortunately, the same every day. The only fruit available was melon, boiled eggs were available on some days but not others, and the coffee was really not very good. 😑
Overall ⭐
We absolutely loved Kos and had a wonderful two weeks, but I think that was largely because we made the holiday our own rather than relying on the hotel facilities.
For us, the Blue Nest was the biggest disappointment of the holiday. Without Alan, I honestly don’t think I could give the hotel the rating I have.
In my opinion, Blue Nest is closer to a 1-star hotel — but Alan deserves 5 stars all by himself! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
More staff, better maintenance, improved breakfast and a little more attention to the overall guest experience would make a huge difference.
Kos itself, however, was absolutely beautiful and we would happily return. 🇬🇷❤️
