Mitsis Ramira Beach

We had high hopes for this hotel but was unfortunately let down by a number of things.

Firstly, upon check in, we were given zero information about anything, including no guidance on where the pools, restaurants, bars were located or timings of meals, etc. This feels like a very basic thing that should be done when checking in, and it felt very dismissive.

The room stunk of drains and we were located right above the nightly entertainment and noisy bar, which wasn’t too much of an issue, but just something to be wary of if you’re looking to have an early night. For reference, this was room 123. However, I found the bed to be comfy and the room was clean (other than the sewer smell) and spacious.

While most of the staff were lovely — particularly Raj at the lounge bar — we found a couple of them to be rather rude.

Foodwise, don’t expect to eat for enjoyment at the buffet. The buffet was the worst buffet we’ve had at an all inclusive, not to mention at this supposed 5 star property. More often than not, food was cold, and there were a lot of flies, particularly on the bread. I also found hairs in the food several times. Cannot fault the Italian and meat restaurants though, they are world’s apart from the buffet.

Crepes, ice cream and gyros were great, but be prepared for a wait, especially for crepes. One day we queued up for over 30 minutes as there is only one person working on them.

The secondary chess pool was the highlight of our holiday, which was a lot quieter than the main pool. It is tucked away, and we only found it after stumbling upon it on day 3 of our holiday. Aqua aerobics and water polo was a welcomed addition. Again, we weren’t told where anything was during check in.

Be aware that the pool areas and the main bar do get extremely slippy, so be careful!

Overall, a disappointing hotel with a lot of potential. Mitsis Ramira is nowhere near a 5 star property. It’s 3 star at best, and not worth the £1000 per person paid for 5 nights.

I recently stayed at Mitsis Ramira in Kos and wanted to share how impressed I was with the housekeeping team, especially Linda, the housekeeping manager. She is incredibly polite, friendly, and attentive. What stood out most wasn’t just how spotless our room always was, but that Linda personally checked in with us to ask how we were doing and if we needed anything.

Beyond housekeeping, the entire staff was wonderful, always friendly and ready to help with anything we needed. As parents traveling with two small kids, this made all the difference, and it was honestly the best experience we’ve had as a family. Please pass on our thanks to Linda and the whole team! ❤️
