A great week in Kos staying at the Hippocrates! Me and my partner had a lovely time with a great mix of things to do as the hotel is in an amazing location. There is also plenty to do at the hotel as Nate and Leah are so amazing with the entertainment they provide! There was some live singers on our first night which really got the holiday off to an amazing start! The activities are a great mix of things to do.
The staff in reception are also super friendly and accommodating, always greeting us when we passed and being very helpful to arrange taxis for us and sort anything we needed.
The food was standard for an all inclusive and is buffet style but the theme nights really helped to keep it more exciting. There is also snacks available throughout the day and plenty of ice cream. The bar staff are also great and were very friendly.
The rooms were a good size and always kept clean, we would have loved a few more pillows but overall we slept well during our week here!
The staff really do make this hotel and we had a lovely getaway to Kos! Thank you to all at Hippocrates😊
Amazing hotel near the beach and not far from Kos town. The entertainment and atmosphere was amazing, Leah and Nate are brilliant at their jobs making me and my family feel included every day and evening, all the activities are super fun and very inclusive for all age ranges. The rooms were clean and cleaned every day. The food is very good with lots of options and different cultures every night they also have 2 different restaurants to book along side the all inclusive buffet. No complaints from us, we would love to go back.
This is nowhere near a 4 star. Rooms are spacious, but dated and beds are like a plank of wood. Shower is in the bath with a rubbish shower curtain and no room to move while in the shower. Safe = extra cost Pool is ok, fairly small but ok to cool down in. Food seems plentiful at the buffet but is fairly bland and overcooked. Bar is limited to local drinks only, named brands are extra. Local drinks are weak and tasteless, bought our own from a shop in the end as the bar stuff isn’t worth drinking. I don’t drink much, but I like to drink well. Pool towels are €10 deposit and can be changed with the lifeguard, but only every couple of days and not after midday. You are provided a bottle of water for the room, but that’s it, any more and you have to buy it. There’s a bar and sunbeds on the beach, about a 10 minute walk away. Soft drinks are part of all inclusive at the bar, you have to pay for alcoholic drinks, which are the same rubbish included in your package at the hotel. The Greek taverna, which you book but is free, is the buffet food served to you on a plate! The 5 star bookable option, is the adjacent hotel buffet and no better with the same wine etc.. that wine is not worth drinking.
We had a wonderful week, the hotel is very clean and spacious. The rooms were big and very clean as were the bathrooms. The rooms were cleaned daily. The staff were very friendly and helpful, reception were quick to help with all our needs. The bar staff were great and very friendly. The food was very good, lots of choice and different themes every night. If you want to eat at the taverna make sure to book early, we missed out (our fault) The pool and bar was also great, what made the holiday extra special were the entertainment team, Nate and Leah, they were such good fun and had loads of things going on, with no pressure to join in. Nate is very infectious with his passion and enthusiasm, aqua shakey shakey and water polo being daily highlights. The evening entertainment was also great fun. All in all a great week away.
My only criticism would be the shower rooms (men’s) need a little update. The shower doesn’t fix to the wall and the tap is stuck on permanently.
We left the hotel yesterday after a lovely chilled out fortnight in the sun. There was no kids club or mini disco, and that was fine for us as our kids are young teenagers. If you have kids wanting that type of entertainment you can use the kids club in the hotel next door. There was fun around the pool each day and entertainment in the evenings at the pool bar. The pool allows floaties and ball games and there is a chilled vibe. The food is your usual AI buffet, maybe not the best cuts of meat, but there was always lots of options. The salads were amazing and the breakfast was good with lots of healthy options. Ice cream is available all day at the pool bar and is delish! We visited the ‘Greek taverna’ one night during our stay and all enjoyed the food. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was ideal for us, a double apartment with 2 rooms and 2 balconies. We had a beautiful sea view which was a lovely surprise. Our room was cleaned daily and we had lots of towels. We hired pool towels and had them swapped as often as we needed. We visited the Aquapark at the sister hotel twice during our holiday, you have to pay for this, €36 for our family. It was worth it as the kids enjoyed the slides and we were comp’d a free drink at the pool bar by the receptionist at the hotel. It’s only a 5 min walk if you use the lift in the Panorama hotel so we just went back to Hippocrates for lunch rather than paying to be all inclusive at Aquapark. We visited the Lido waterpark during our stay - we’d also recommend that for a great fun family day out. Visiting Kos town was a bit of an expense, there is a shuttle bus but it costs €15 each way for our family so adding €30 onto the cost of our night out before you’ve even bought a drink or dinner. Worth it though as the town is beautiful with so many gorgeous bars and restaurants to explore. We went on a fantastic 3 Island boat trip and would recommend the Katerina boat. Lovely food, stunning islands, fun, and limited numbers so everyone has lots of space and their own sunbed. Zia for the sunset is spectacular but we also loved an after dinner walk down to the beach for sunset, lots of people do it and some of the beach bars are still open if you want a drink. We really have had a beautiful holiday on a beautiful island and would love to visit again some day.
