Not long returned after a 10 night stay at Smy Kos beach and splash. Lovely hotel very clean and modern rooms with a good sized balcony. The hotel is very spread out with a splash zone area for kids, a larger pool area, a smaller pool area with bar which serves food at lunch time and then the beach. So if you’ve got little ones there’s a choice of where to spend your day which we liked. The food was always nice. Sometimes a bit repetitive. Wait in line for the pizza - you won’t be disappointed! Best pizza we have had! The drinks are really good, nice cocktails and can always get your local spirits including Prosecco. There is a drinks token system the hotel uses. Take your token to the bar exchange it for a drink return your cup get your token back. We did like this because it meant no over flowing bins everywhere, no cups left on the floor and reduced plastic waste. The entertainment team were fab. Always walking around talking to everyone and our kids really enjoyed the kids club. Megan is a credit to the animation team. Her voice is sensational. The staff really are amazing. Always smiling and speaking to you and the cleaners do work so hard to keep on top of everything. The bar staff at the infinity pool however can be a bit rude. The male lifeguard was fantastic always watching and didn’t miss a thing. We did see him everyday giving people first aid as people seem to keep cutting their feet in the main pool area. Not sure how this was happening as we never had a problem but we did see it everyday and some days multiple times. This really does need to be addressed, maybe some broken tiles in the pool? The female lifeguard didn’t seem to do much, we saw her a lot just sat on her phone. It’s in a nice quiet location, loved it being right on the beach. It’s €12 in a taxi into the nearest town. I would say this hotel does need a few tiny upgrades like a step ladder into the deep end of the main pool, a hand rail down to the toilets at the main pool would be useful and a few of the other hand rails around the main pool area need tightening up. However all in all we had a great time and really liked the hotel - even if we did have to get up early each day to get a sun lounger but this isn’t a hotel issue this is a people issue.
We've just come back from a 9 day stay here. The hotel was lovely. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. Pools were great and the food was amazing, always a good variety and tasty and both the main area and the beach bar. Lovely to have the beach so close as well. Would defiantly suggest hiring a car as the location is great for getting up and down the island and the lady in the hotel that sorts the hire cars was so friendly and helpful. Only things letting the hotel down was the bar staff aren't the most friendly at times and would be nice to have has a couple of extra sheets in the room for night. Overall was a lovely stay and would certainly recommend for a nice relaxed family hotel to stay but if you are expecting the Ritz then maybe not.
