A short distance from Mastichari, the picturesque fishing village that is the island's second largest harbor, and steps away from an organized white sand beach with tranquil water that is ideal for families and water sports enthusiasts, sits the Gaia Palace that is everything you would expect in top quality holiday accommodation, dining, services and amenities. A hallmark of the hotel are its three swimming pools, impressive and tantalizing, beckoning guests to dive in for a swim, water games, to be refreshed or just relax. The fact that there are three main pools and three smaller children's pools means that there is a marked lack of crowing or noise at any given one. The large Olympic-size pool is reserved for water sports fans and those who want to swim laps, and has a separate adjacent children's pool for absolute safety; two smaller pools are dedicated to less intense swimming activity and in-pool relaxing, while each has its own adjacent children's pool as well. The Pool Bar completes the scene, offering refreshing juices and cocktails and a variety of snacks and tasty treats right next to the water. For visitors who prefer action-packed holidays, the Gaia Palace Hotel boasts a fully-equipped gym, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, athletic and swimming games and competitions, fitness programs both in and out of the pools and on the beach, as well as a beach volleyball tournament. At the Gaia Palace, the fun doesn't stop when the sun goes down; it heats up even more with evening parties by the water and musical dance shows organized regularly.
We had a truly wonderful stay at Gaia Palace and are taking home so many lovely memories! Overall, we really enjoyed the hotel. The entire staff was extremely accommodating, attentive, and always fun to be around. A special thank you goes to the animation team! They were incredibly friendly and nice, making our holiday so much brighter with their positive energy. Huge praise to Hermina, Csenge, and Margot, you guys are amazing and took fantastic care of all the guests! We really enjoyed our time here and would love to come back. Thank you so much for a great time!

So we’re one week into a two week holiday but thought we would write an early review. The hotel itself is beautifully kept, lots of pools and comfy sunbeds - definitely no sunbed wars here. It is quite remote but a 12 euro taxi ride gets you to either Mastichari or Marmari if you want a change of scenery. The beach has nice sand and a gently shelving sea floor - it’s about a 10 minute walk through the sister hotel, the Gaia Royal. If you like long beach walks head to the right as you get there - seems to go on forever. Room - we have a deluxe room and it’s lovely, plenty of storage space and space in general. It overlooks one of the smaller pools. I did message the hotel before arriving asking for a high floor which they honoured and we also had a nice email back (a pleasant surprise - don’t often get a reply). Food is excellent - lots of choice, the actual restaurant itself is also lovely with plenty of outside seating. The maitre d, Nikos, always gives a warm welcome and showed some genuine kindness today which was a very pleasant surprise. A real gent. Entertainment - the beach party and Greek nights are run weekly and are great fun. The entertainment staff run other nights such as Karaoke, quizzes, also a very good singer one night - something going on every night except Saturday which seems to be the main changeover day. Staff - outstanding. From the moment we got there met by Marie and Osanka who were extremely helpful and pleasant. The bar staff (Spiros and Anastasia at the main pool bar, the legend that is Ani in the evenings and more that we’ve yet to remember the names of !) all fantastic. The entertainment team girls, Margot Csenga and Hermina, are so very sweet and great company - loved by all. As a summary - love this place, I honestly don’t understand some of the other reviews and we’ve been going on holidays for a very long time to recognise when somewhere is good. Gaia Palace is very good - and we still have a week left :-)
Overall, I had a very positive stay. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food was delicious, plentiful and varied, with plenty of choice every day. The hotel is also a great base for exploring the island because of its central location.
The rooms were comfortable and perfectly fine, although the bathrooms could use a little more attention and renovation. The swimming pools were very nice and well maintained. There were also plenty of activities and entertainment for children, which makes the hotel a good choice for families.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would happily recommend this hotel.
We return to this hotel every year, and there is a very simple reason why — the people. Of course, the hotel itself is beautiful, exceptionally clean, the food is fantastic, and the pools and beach are wonderful. But what truly makes this place so special is the incredible team who work here. A special mention has to go to the hotel manager, Nitsa. She is absolutely wonderful and does so much to make every guest feel welcome, valued and looked after. Her warmth, professionalism and genuine care really shine through, and she sets the tone for the whole hotel. And then there’s the amazing team — Nikos, Ani, Spiros, Anastasia, Alex, Dimitri and Kevi. Every single one of them brings something special. They are friendly, attentive, hardworking and genuinely lovely people. After returning year after year, it feels less like coming back to a hotel and more like coming back to friends. They remember us, always greet us with a smile, and consistently go above and beyond to make our stay perfect. It’s easy for a hotel to have beautiful rooms, great food, lovely pools and a gorgeous beach, but it’s the staff who create the memories that make you want to return. And this team is truly exceptional. Nitsa, Nikos, Ani, Spiros, Anastasia, Alex, Dimotri, Kevi and all the staff thank you for everything you do. You are the heart of this hotel and the reason we keep coming back every year. ❤️ We absolutely love this place and wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else. Already looking forward to our next visit!
