Blue Lagoon Resort is a hotel complex with 662 guestrooms. This all inclusive hotel is situated in Lambi, only 75m from the sandy/shingle beach, 2 km from the centre of Kos town, 1.5 km away from the nearest shopping area and 22 km from the airport. This beautiful hotel has got a 1-storey main building, six 2-storey accommodation buildings at the main complex and 3 satellite buildings.
The facilities at the Blue Lagoon Resort include the Nisos buffet restaurant, the Mythos Greek buffet restaurant, the Mesogios restaurant, the Athina Pool restaurant, the Chinese restaurant as well as the Italian a' la carte restaurant with adults only section. Have an exotic drink at one of the numerous bars; the Pool bar, the Piano bar with live music, the Lounge and Animation bar or at any of the others waiting for you. If you long for something sweet, visit the pancake station at the main pool island or at the Waterpark.
Our guests can choose between five pools; the 4000 sq meters main swimming pool and a smaller of 200 sq meters for children at the main complex as well as two swimming pools for adults and one children's pool at the satellite buildings. The hotel includes also a water park about 500 m from the main complex with a Lazy River, Aqua land as well as slides for adults and bigger children. Activities like mini soccer, tennis, mini-golf and beach volley will help you keep fit during your holidays, while the Votsalo Spa is the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate your body and skin, offering a variety of beauty treatments as well as a fitness room, an indoor heated pool, sauna, steam bath and whirl pool for guests over 16 years of age.
We stayed here for 1 week room 1222 overlooking the reception outside bar. If your given this block refuse you wont sleep at all. We asked every day to be moved as we wasnt getting to sleep until 4am as people were sat right outside playing music and talking really loud. We also went to guest relations and they still kept saying unable to move us. This ruined our holiday. We would never go back to this hotel it is supposed to be 5 stsr rating we have stayed in better 3 star hotels. The only positive thing about this hotel was the lovely animation team they were amazing worked so hard and provided excellent shows to watch.
Firstly I want this to be as constructive as possible but when you have paid money to go on holiday you want it to be nice and positive experience where you will return or recommend to people.
I want to start by mentioning the rooms, for two people we were put into a room where there wasn’t enough space or storage for a weeks stay to feel like you were settled in properly. The rooms were dated and weren't particularly ‘5 star luxury’ we thought they may be. The rooms if you wanted to would be cleaned everyday but it was just beds made and towels changed. The beds were really uncomfortable too , if you like a rock hard bed you will be ok otherwise it’s like sleeping on the floor.
The entertainment and the ‘vibe’ around the hotel was aimed towards Children and families and made me feel out of place being on holiday there as a couple even though the hotel is labeled as a couple friendly hotel. Before arriving on holiday I read the reviews and was expecting good things from the entertainment side however it seems like the entertainment team are very clicky and they have asked people they have got familiar with that week to write reviews etc. In the week we stayed we never had an interaction with an entertainment team member again adding to the out of place feeling. The entertainment itself is ran by really talented individuals but the whole themes of the evenings really give 80’s Butlins entertainment.
Again booking such a well reviewed hotel we were expecting some really lovely food whilst we stayed and it honestly couldn’t have been further from our expectations. The food was always cold and it seems like they would pre cook things and keep it in a warmer then bring it out to replenish. The main buffet was extremely repetitive. The only food we enjoyed was the Pan Asian restaurant. But when eating at the al a carte you have to pay a surplus for drinks if you don’t want fizzy / water. Beer and Wine is an extra but we did pay for a bottle to change from the all inclusive drinks. Drinks at the hotel are actually really not the one, they are barely drinkable in my opinion and not good quality but again they allow you to pay extra for ‘branded things’.
The hotels facilities are lovely and they have enough room for everyone if they wanted to sunbathe etc.
The staff are very friendly and would do anything to help you however it was made clear to us they are here on contract until the end of October and you got no personal touch. Again this made it feel like a constant clog in a wheel and we were another number.
I just feel there needs to be a massive shift in updating some of the key things you pay good money for when booking these hotels. I completely understand that not everything is to everyone’s taste but we found it very hard to find things to eat / drink without feeling repetitive or just being not very nice to eat.
I wouldn’t recommend unless updates were made. Just very disappointed considering the money we spent.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to family and friends!
The hotel is quite large, but it never feels overwhelming. There are several accommodation buildings spread throughout the resort, with beautiful, well-maintained gardens in between. There are flowers, palm trees and lush green lawns everywhere, and you can really see how much care and attention is put into keeping the whole property looking so beautiful.
There is something for everyone here. The hotel has several swimming pools with different depths, a water park, water attractions for children, daily activities and evening entertainment. The entertainment team is fantastic — they invite guests to join in without ever being pushy, which we really appreciated. Every evening there is a different dance and music show, and the performances are genuinely beautiful and very enjoyable to watch.
The food selection is huge, whether you are there for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is plenty of variety, so everyone should be able to find something they like. The dishes are generally quite mildly seasoned, but there are plenty of spices available if you prefer your food with a little more flavour.
The staff deserve a special mention. The service was excellent throughout our stay. Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and genuinely attentive to the guests. The staff speak English very well, and some even know a few words in German or Polish, which was such a lovely and thoughtful touch.
Overall, we had a really great experience. It is a place where you can relax, have fun and feel well looked after. We would happily come back and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great holiday!🌞🏖️🌊
Just had a week at this hotel. The site is absolutely massive and was spotlessly clean, and has just about every facility you could wish for including the biggest swimming pool we have ever seen. The staff could not have been more helpful. Rooms are comfortable although the bathroom in ours had some sort of stain on the floor. Busses into Kos town stop just outside the hotel and car hire is available.
We’ve just returned from Blue Lagoon Kos and, unfortunately, it was a bit of a mixed bag.
The entertainment team were brilliant and probably the highlight of the holiday. They worked incredibly hard and were great with everyone. The majority of the hotel staff were also super friendly and helpful, which definitely deserves a mention.
Unfortunately, there were quite a few negatives.
The rooms are definitely in need of a major upgrade. They look like they’ve taken a real battering over the years and are showing their age. We experienced a lot of ants even without eating in the room, not even sure if the rooms were even being cleaned just beds and towels topped up.
The hotel was also extremely loud, particularly late at night and into the early hours of the morning. Not ideal when you’re travelling with children and hoping for a decent night’s sleep.
The food was below average, and in my opinion there wasn’t a great deal that would appeal to children. We found ourselves struggling to find meals that the kids actually wanted to eat. The beer was also, quite honestly, undrinkable.
The lifeguards were another disappointment. We found some of them quite rude, particularly when speaking to children. The water park itself was also frustrating because it felt like they stopped people from using the slides for so many different reasons that it became almost pointless.
One other thing to be aware of is the location. Kos Town isn’t a particularly close walk, especially with a family. The roads and walking routes aren’t the best for taking young children either, so we’d recommend considering transport rather than relying on walking. Although taxis and busses are a nightmare to get!
For the money I would defo be looking to go somewhere else Kos is a beautiful place hotel was overall disappointing.
Reading the other reviews they have either come with no kids or they’re really easily pleased.
