Our first childfree holiday so we couldn't wait for an adult only hotel with stunning views. WOW YES THE VIEWS ARE STUNNING!!! We had a great room with a jacuzzi that was lovely too (maybe not the cleaniest jacuzzi but still great).. i couldnt fault the hotel apart from saying we were a little bored with not much of a atmosphere/ entertainment at the hotel. We didnt like Kefalos for the same reasons.. but we did have the most RELAXING holiday ever and i thank this hotel for that
Firstly, the staff were lovely, the majority of the restaurant staff, the lad in the pool bar. All exceptional. All the staff went out of their way to make sure everyone had the best possible experience. They even picked up and dropped off guests to and from their rooms because the hotel is on a very steep hill which is a gruelling climb in the heat.
The spa lady was wonderful. It was almost worth the trip purely for the massages (which were very reasonably priced)
Its just unfortunate that everything else in the spa was out of order. It was the spa hotel status which was our main reason for choosing the hotel. If we'd known the sauna, steam room etc were all out if order, we wouldn't have gone.
However, there were some slight issues which you would not expect from a 5* hotel.
1 our shower had a leaky valve so the water sprayed out from above the shower head and reached as far as the bedroom making the floor treacherous and wetting everything in the bathroom area.
2 (photo 2) the door to the shower room didn't close, adding to the problem above.
3 (photo 3) In the bedroom, there was a leaflet showing the contents of the minibar but there was no minibar which would have been very useful after a day in the sun. The room however was kept nice and clean.
4 (photo 4) our private pool on our terrace was dirty. It had a line of green algae and the jacuzzi jets didn't work.
5 photos ( 5 to 10) there were certain things outside the hotel, in the grounds which detracted from the otherwise very nice tidy hotel.. The concrete wall which our balcony sat on had a crack all along the full length and a big hole partly filled with expanding foam. When you walk down the hill to the bottom of the hotel complex, there's a partially fenced off area (next to the tennis courts) which appears to be a dumping ground. Please see photos
The most direct way to get to the beach from the hotel is via a dirt path. (10 mins to the beach as opposed to 40 mins via the main road) despite this being the favoured route by the hotel guests ( and the route given by staff members) it is accessed through a gate which is usually locked, so you gave to squeeze through the little gap at the side. I don't know which owns that particular bit if land, but its not lit at all and made us reluctant to stay out after dark.
Overall the experience was lovely and the issues with the room were mentioned to reception early in the trip. They weren't addressed during our stay, but hopefully will have been resolved before the next guests visit.
For the price of the hotel itself and the amount we spent across the, somwhat highly priced hotel restaurant (in which we had two or three courses most nights), the bar and the spa, I'd have liked to have seen perhaps a little more, but overall, very relaxing and the pool area was certainly one of the highlights of the trip.

We’ve just returned from a short break at The White Rock of Kos to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Anastasia and the team. The views from reception are truly spectacular and our signature pool suite was outstanding in terms of space, luxury, decor and the room service. We had a gorgeous L shaped pool in room 303 and breathtaking views across the resort and the surrounding islands. We couldn’t have wished for a more perfect stay. I would highly recommend this room!
The hotel is positioned high on the hillside and is steep but this is the magic of the views. The team are always on hand to drive you around the resort on golf buggies if you prefer. We liked the daily challenge of the hill to breakfast!
The hotel run a taxi service into town and back for €10 each way, which felt very reasonable as it’s on demand. You just call them when you’re ready to return and they’ll pick you up. They also offer a similar service to the airport for €30. All the drivers we met were hotel staff and really lovely!
As an alternative you can also walk from the bottom gate by the tennis court into the resort. It takes around 5/6 mins and well worth it for a mini adventure.
If you’re looking to treat yourselves to a luxurious escape with great food, complete privacy and a private infinity pool with views, you won’t go wrong booking this.

My wife and I have just returned from 10 nights at White Rock. It was just as described and the views were breath-taking. We ate out in the evenings and found the walk down the hill quite easy and the walk up only a bit more challenging. Make sure you have torches for the dark evening returns as you do need to watch your footings. As many of the previous reviews have said, the staff were all amazing. Special mention must go to Mariola and the reception team who couldn't do enough to help. Costas the driver and Dimitrius behind the bar were also great. Jenny who often served us in the morning told us about her favourite beach at Kochylari. It soon became our favourite to. Mylotopi and Mistrali restaurants in the old town were lovely and they provide free transport if you book to eat with them.
We loved everything about White Rock, the staff is exceptional. So very friendly, welcoming & polite. Our room was perfection, the two sinks & two rainfall showers were brilliant, the suite was large & the super-king bed so comfortable. Air con worked like a dream & the entire place was spotlessly clean. I could also hang my maxi dresses without them hitting the wardrobe floor or shelf, which was a treat. But the absolute best bit was our balcony, with our own pool, super comfy sun-beds & two fab chairs & a table, all with the most amazing views & sunshine from morning to sunset. The buggies that run you up & back from the main pool/reception/restaurant if needed were fantastic, came immediately you called & the drivers were so friendly & obliging. Yes, it’s a 10 minute climb back up from the beach front, and you need to be fit & able, be we didn’t find it a problem at all. We stayed half board (the food was amazing) but another time would do B&B as the portions are large & a 3 course dinner was too much for us. We would just pay for food at the hotel I think. Drinks were reasonable & great & we especially enjoyed the wine list!
The only tiny criticism would be the request for your e-ticket on arrival. We’d had a delay and were arriving late, but were pressed to forward an email twice, the first one didn’t work (they’d had seen our passports). We were really wanting a drink & something to eat & to start relaxing, rather than the forceful request to confirm our reservation digitally. I hope this procedure will be reviewed as it’s not the most welcoming start.
But everything else was wonderful & the views are exceptional. Thank you for a fabulous week!
