It is located only 10 km from the centre of Kefalos, near Paradise Beach one of the most beautiful beaches of Kos, only 7 km from the airport and 30 km from Kos town, the capital of the island. The Blue Lagoon Village offers a vast range of facilities like the Aegean Main restaurant with indoor and outdoor sections, the Thalassa Fish tavern, the Susshimi Sushi restaurant and the Golden Sun Chinese restaurant offering you different tastes from all over the world. The Mythos Taverna serves traditional Greek dishes, the Piazza Italian restaurant offers a taste of Italy, the Green & Grill is the place where you can grill your own combination of different meats and finally the Gelateria where you can enjoy panckaes, waffles, sweets and ice-cream.You will have a hard job choosing where to have your drink; at the Shake & Mix Pool bar any time of the day, the Wet Pool bar, an impressive swim-up bar, the Plaza Pool bar the Piazza bar and the Theater Bar in the afternoon or the Beach and Snack bar during the day.

Wow

Wow what a lovely place. Stunning scenery, great transfer time from the airport. Beautiful resort. A huge site, take advantage of the free rides you can request. The food was excellent. All inclusive can be repetitive but this wasn’t the case except for breakfast. We got a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom family suite. As a family of 4 (15 and 13 year old kids) we originally booked the cheaper option of 2 separate rooms which meant we weren’t together but requested rooms next to each other. Being in together was great and made life so much easier.

We found our pool that we enjoyed most above the Ocean Restaurant, it was quieter than the other pools. The staff at the pool were amazing. I can’t praise them enough. Kejsi, Ianis and Sonny were lovely, happy and enthusiastic, always remembered what we wanted and can’t fault them. They made it special. Big shout out to them.

All staff on site couldn’t do enough for you. It was spotlessly clean. Really made us feel welcome, all polite, customer service couldn’t have been better.

We can’t wait to go back. The only slight downside was the pool temperature but once you were in it was ok!!!

Again, a special Thankyou to the pool bar staff mentioned above as they went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable and they are worth their weight in gold. You might might want to consider tipping them for their excellent service as they were amazing. I hope this review gets passed on to them personally.

Blue lagoon village review from a family with a 7 and 12 year old

Just came back from here, positives are staff were great, pools are great, water park was great for under 12s really, water sports on the beach, cleanliness, entertainment team. Oh and buggy’s to get about, it’s auite a big resort. Stuff that was ok, small shop albeit a bit pricey, Stuff that wasn’t 5 star, the food was very repetitive and not much for younger kids who are a bit fussy, the beach which they claim is sandy is far from it. Quite gritty and lots of stones make it uncomfortable to walk on and worst was the fact it doesn’t go to the sea. Before you reach the water you are met with rocks that continue out into the water, they are uneven and slippy making access from the beach into the water very challenging. The Italian restaurant did ok pizza but the food was odd, no spaghetti and bolognaise, no garlic bread which would have been great for kids, however chicken on mash! Which was tough as old boots. This isn’t a 5 star resort in my opinion but a solid 4 star

Fabulous

We’ve just returned from a fabulous 12-night stay here, and we already miss it! From the moment you drive down the hill, the view is fantastic — you get to take in the whole resort spread out below you. Because the resort is so spacious, it never feels crowded, apart from perhaps on ABBA and Michael Jackson show nights!

We stayed in a swim-up room in Block 1000, which was lovely and just a short walk from the Relax Pool and bar. We had an end room, which was a real bonus as it gave us a deeper terrace and extra space.

One of the things we loved was the lack of any “sunbed wars”. There were always beds available around the Relax Pool. The Activity Pool did fill up as the morning went on, as did Avra, but there are so many spare sunbeds dotted around the resort that you can always find somewhere.

I really want to highlight the fantastic service. Every member of staff we encountered was incredibly friendly, attentive and welcoming — a real credit to the hotel. They are genuinely lovely people. We particularly enjoyed chatting with the team at the Relax Pool bar and Avra bar.

The hotel grounds are beautiful and clearly very well looked after. They are constantly being cleaned, and the groundskeepers are always out keeping everything looking immaculate.

The slide pool was excellent and my 10-year-old absolutely loved the slides! We also enjoyed the larger slides — and the view from the stairs while waiting is pretty spectacular. There aren’t many sunbeds immediately around the main slides as there isn’t a huge amount of space, but there are plenty more under the bar area. There are also two additional pools on the bar level, where we found plenty of free sunbeds throughout our stay.

Avra Bar is in such a gorgeous location — we loved sitting there and taking in the view.

We really enjoyed the food too. Our favourites were the Italian and Chinese restaurants, and we particularly enjoyed the Asian and French nights at Ocean.

There’s a great selection of cocktails included, and they were all delicious. My new favourite is the Irish Cream Coffee! My husband and daughter also loved the little biscuits available at most of the bars during the day. 😄

The spa is beautiful, and my daughter absolutely loved having a manicure there.

Bottled water is plentiful at the bars, and staff are also happy to refill your own bottle for you, which is really convenient.

The entertainment team do a fantastic job. We had lots of fun with the water aerobics and Zumba — they’re great fun and definitely give you a good workout! The evening shows are really entertaining too, and my daughter absolutely loved her personalised T-shirt.

If you want to see the ABBA or Michael Jackson shows, get there early! We arrived after the mini disco had finished and ended up just sitting around waiting, as there were no seats left. These are clearly two very popular shows! The bar is open, though, so grab a drink (or two 🙂) and enjoy the atmosphere while you wait.

We also hired a car off-site for three days, which gave us the chance to get out and explore the beautiful island. There are plenty of parking spaces available at the hotel too.

Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic holiday. The resort, the staff, the food, the facilities and the atmosphere all made for a wonderful stay.

We miss the hotel already and can’t wait to come back! ❤️

Not a 5 star but a pleasant stay

Stayed for 7 nights with our 7 year old and 2 year old boys in August 2026.

Positives:

Very short transfer time, no more than fifteen minutes. Super clean resort, didn’t see a single piece of litter throughout whole stay. Plenty of things for the kids to do and keep them entertained. The staff are really friendly, everyone said hello and smiled. No need to wear an all inclusive wrist band as it is so isolated there is literally nothing for miles around. This hotel offers a genuine two bedroom apartment, so a separate room for the kids and no pull out sofa bed. It is very rare to find these type of rooms and it was one of the main reasons we booked this hotel. Michael Jackson show was good considering it is entirely lead by the hotel entertainment team, not an outside production company.

What would improve this hotel to be a real five star:

Rooms decor is basic for what is supposed to be a five star platinum hotel, feels like a four star at best. No refreshments in the room other than a few bottles of water. Surely this is something the hotel should consider changing given it’s mentioned in most reviews? There are a lot of drinks that need to be paid for, with signs at all the bars. The sparking wine tasted more like cider and you can literally taste how watered down the drinks are. The beer and white wine was drinkable, rose not bad either. Didn’t try the red. Room service is pretty standard in five star hotels, but not here.

Things to note:

This hotel is built on a hillside, so there are steps and steep paths to navigate which is more challenging if you have a pushchair. The water park is situated on the far edge of the resort. We were staying in block 7 which is broadly in the middle of the resort, just behind the stage for the evening entertainment. From that location it is close to a ten minute walk when fully ladened with bags, inflatables and with a pushchair, so could be longer if your room if the other side of reception. A golf cart is an option but didn’t always have the patience to wait. The beach is not soft sand but more fine shingle and the entrance to the sea has rocks so not suitable to allow young children to paddle. Sunbeds are readily available at the main pool until around 10am. Any later than that you might struggle, although we found the pool next to the water park to be much less busy with plenty of beds and umbrellas available throughout the day. This does not feel like a Greek hotel, it could be anywhere. The workers in the restaurants and bars whist are amazingly friendly and professional are all from the far east so doesn’t have a Greek vibe. The golf carts are constantly darting around on the same pathways as all the guests are walking, and at quite some speed. We were constantly on edge when walking anywhere when hearing the whizz of the electric motor quickly pulling our kids to the side of the walkway. Again not something that would bother a family with older kids but for us it was something we had to be aware of. If you have young children that need to get to bed before 9pm I would recommend not staying in block seven. The speakers are cranked up from the amphitheater for the evening shows which literally vibrated through our room. This is from around 9pm until 10.30pm every night.

Final summary:

This hotel is probably ideal for families with kids of ages four to twelve years who enjoy spending time around the pool and are active. The food is fine, nothing special and on par with most all inclusive resorts. Don’t expect to be blown away by luxury, it is by no means a shabby hotel but lacks that extra level of quality you would expect if being advertised as five stars. Would we come back, probably not. The main draw for us was the layout of the rooms and the sheer number of pools. The water park for the kids would probably be more suitable for our two year old in a year or two. The beach is a real shame and I can see the hotel have attempted to improve the situation with a jetty which is great for adults and older children for snorkelling but does not suit our current family life stage. I expect with a bit of research there are other hotels out there with a more luxury feel, similar room layouts, activity pools, and a better beach for the same money?

Fantastic - thank you.

We have just returned from the Blue Lagoon Village and have had a fantastic holiday. We're a family of 4 with two kids under 10, the resort if perfect for the whole family.

The design of the hotel is very well considered, the layout and number of pools/ water park/ beach mean that it has variation and never feels overcrowded.

Having stayed at several all inclusive resorts, Blue Lagoon Village compares very well regards food. There are two buffet restaurants and 5 a-la-carte (3 included in the package, 2 that have an additional fee); this means that you can oscillate between the buffet and more formal venues.

Finally, the staff are excellent. Hard working, polite and very attentive - thank you.
