Blue Lagoon Village is a luxurious village style complex with 447 guestrooms. This all inclusive hotel is in direct contact with the sandy beach offering magnificent views. It is located only 10 km from the centre of Kefalos, near Paradise Beach one of the most beautiful beaches of Kos, only 7 km from the airport and 30 km from Kos town, the capital of the island. The Blue Lagoon Village offers a vast range of facilities like the Aegean Main restaurant with indoor and outdoor sections, the Thalassa Fish tavern, the Susshimi Sushi restaurant and the Golden Sun Chinese restaurant offering you different tastes from all over the world. The Mythos Taverna serves traditional Greek dishes, the Piazza Italian restaurant offers a taste of Italy, the Green & Grill is the place where you can grill your own combination of different meats and finally the Gelateria where you can enjoy panckaes, waffles, sweets and ice-cream.You will have a hard job choosing where to have your drink; at the Shake & Mix Pool bar any time of the day, the Wet Pool bar, an impressive swim-up bar, the Plaza Pool bar the Piazza bar and the Theater Bar in the afternoon or the Beach and Snack bar during the day.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We just returned from a fantastic holiday at Blue Lagoon Village ⭐️
The resort is spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and the facilities are incredible. The swimming pools are massive and there are plenty of sunbeds for everyone. Food at the buffet and à la carte restaurants was excellent with so much choice.
We had an amazing time. the rooms were comfortable and beautifully maintained, and the entire atmosphere of the village made us feel welcome and relaxed.
What truly made this stay special, however, was the incredible staff. Everyone was kind and attentive, but a very special thank you goes to Bellboy Sahan Akalanka he were outstanding, He was the one who took us around the village in a club car on the day we checked in and explained everything clearly to us. He also works as a lifeguard at the village. he is a credit to your village and keeps a really high standard of professionalism, always friendly, caring, and attentive to every detail. We genuinely felt that our wishes were anticipated before we even had to ask.
Thank you to the entire team for making our first family vacation We highly recommend this Blue Lagoon village to anyone visiting Kos and will definitely be coming back!
Absolutely fantastic hotel. We’ve stayed twice already and have planned a third visit.
The staff are outstanding: friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful in every interaction. Whether it’s reception, housekeeping, or the restaurant teams, everyone goes out of their way to make your stay smooth and enjoyable.
The hotel itself is extremely spacious, beautifully laid out, and never feels crowded.
There are plenty of pools, quiet areas, and open spaces, so you can always find somewhere relaxing without noise or congestion. Rooms are modern, clean, and well maintained, with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Food quality is excellent across the restaurants, with lots of variety and consistently high standards. The beach is lovely, the facilities are superb, and the whole resort is kept in immaculate condition.
We have recently returned from 7 nights here and had a brilliant holiday. The grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept throughout. The staff we always very attentive and polite wether this was at a bar or in the restaurants. We enjoyed the food and liked having lunch at the Ocean restaurant which had a lovely setting. There are plenty of pools to choose from and one had a swim up bar. Entertainment was good especially thr Michael Jackson evening. Drinks were perfectly fine for us and they have a great cocktail bar open till late. The hotel on the beach but location wise there is not much in walking distance. This is not the hotel for you if you want bars and restaurants near by. On thr plus side it was only a 10 min transfer from the airport. Overall we had an amazing stay and will be looking to return next year!
I will start by saying that the hotel is lovely and staff are friendly and helpful.
However if you are a couple and want a quiet holiday, this is not the place to go. There are so many children even out in school terms ( was expecting some little children but certainly not the amount).
The restaurants are very noisy, not just people but also loud music. The main buffet restaurant is very big and the food is split over several rooms and sections. The food was never hot it was always warm. I’m am Gluten free due to health and had pre order all my meals, I don’t always know what I want to eat 24hrs before I eat and it didn’t matter if it was different restaurants my menu was exactly the same. My portion came out huge and I don’t eat big meals, it puts me off the meal if it’s too big. My favourite thing was the lava pudding. There is no ice cream, I could only have sorbet, but the pancakes were lovely. My husband managed to find food but as I said it wasn’t generally hot.
The pools at the time of year are very very cold. With the amount of pools on site it could be possible to have one dedicated to adults only, I believe there used to be an adults only area for rooms on the site but they aren’t there now. We fortunately had a swim up room, so could get a little privacy (no peace because of location)
Lastly this is a very remote location and without either going out on tours or paying for expensive taxis there are no ways off site.
Overall, we had a lovely stay, but I would say this hotel is closer to a 4-star experience than the 5-star standard stated by TUI.
Food: Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite meet our expectations for a 5-star hotel. Some dishes lacked a little flavour and were often only lukewarm. There was plenty of choice, but the temperature and taste could definitely be improved.
Staff & service: With one exception at the beach snack bar, the customer service throughout the hotel was outstanding. Reception staff, restaurant staff and the teams at the other bars were all incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. The pool waiter service deserves a special mention — absolutely outstanding. He was efficient, friendly, constantly tidying and always checking whether guests needed anything.
At the beach snack bar, the lady serving us came across as quite sarcastic, with a rather insincere smile, and was eating a ham and cheese toastie while serving customers, which didn’t give the best impression. Thankfully, this was very much an exception compared with the rest of the staff.
Entertainment: The entertainment team were amazing, especially with children. They were always coming over, chatting and getting everyone involved without ever being too pushy. There were plenty of daytime activities for both adults and children, and the team were consistently friendly and enthusiastic.
Room: We stayed in a swim-up room, which was beautiful and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. However, the rooms could do with a little TLC — there were areas where paint needed touching up and some broken plaster that could easily be repaired.
Pool: The outdoor pool was absolutely freezing during our stay. Barely anyone seemed to use it, and when the kids did get in, they were often straight back out because of the temperature. This was disappointing as the pool area itself is lovely.
Other things to note: There was no iron provided in the room, and apparently you have to use the hotel’s laundry/ironing service. This is an additional cost — for example, we were quoted €13.50 to have a dress ironed.
Overall: I wouldn’t personally describe this as a 5-star hotel based on our experience, despite TUI rating it as such. However, if you go expecting a good 4-star hotel, I think you’ll have a much more realistic expectation. Considering what we paid, I would still recommend the hotel. The fantastic entertainment team, excellent pool service, friendly staff and beautiful swim-up rooms made for an enjoyable holiday overall.
