Perched close to the crystal clear sea, and boasting great views of the beautiful island of Kos, this luxurious hotel provides excellent facilities and high quality services sure to satisfy even the most seasoned travellers. The spacious guest-rooms offer elegant details like wooden ceiling beams, and the light fabrics and fantastic sea-views create the perfect atmosphere for guests to relax with a book or a refreshing drink. Those visiting Greece in the company of friends or family can opt for the maisonette or villa accommodations, and truly feel home away from home. Besides the fantastic beach, other entertainment options include a tennis court, as well as canoeing and windsurfing. In addition to the delicious Greek and international dishes, the restaurant serves boutique wines, bottled especially for the hotel guests. The airport of kos is 12 km away and the city is 29 km away .
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Lovely resort, with so many pool and restaurants! The staff were lovely, polite, accommodating. They made our favourite cocktails. The house wine is very good which we know at all inclusive the drinks aren’t always great. Very clean, tidy and the rooms are spacious, with comfy beds etc and looks of toiletries. The only thing I would say is there could be more of a vibe around the pools with some music in the background.
My review of blue domes.
Hello just thought I would do a a review on the hotel.
HOTEL it’s a very very big hotel, lovely view of the mountains from behind, and lovely views of the beach. Good reception area. There is a mini market with plenty of stuff in in, but can be quite expensive. There is a mini market at the side of the hotel on the beach front which isn’t connected to the hotel which I found cheaper, plenty of stuff in there.
We also recommend using the bus service to get into town as it’s a 15€ taxi each way, which is shared with other people. There is a bus timetable at reception 2€ each way, they do come quite often, just not on Sundays.
POOL Plenty of pools to choose from to swim as there is 9 pools. Very hard to get a sunbed around the pool area. Plenty of bars around pool, you can get pool service for drinks but they take ages so best getting up and getting one yourself.
BEACH lovely beach, plenty of sunbeds, lovely clear sea, recommend bring beach shoes as it’s a shale beach, you can buy these in the little market on beach front. Also bring snorkelling gear as there is plenty of fish to look at. There is a Greek van which has gyros in (chicken, pork, vegetarian options) really nice. There is a bar too. You do have a waiter and he is very good, always bringing drinks with a smile, great man) there is a water sports area at addional costs, and also an aqua park. Blue flag beach. Warning, hang your stuff up on the sun brollies as there is big ants.
ROOM we had a garden bungalow, we had abit of a sea and pool view. Really nice room, we are a family of 3 which was a tight squeeze as they put a pull out bed in there. Would suit a couple. 2 showers and a bath in bathroom, very big. We did have issues with power kept tripping out so had maintenance out twice. Not happened since. There is a kettle with tea and coffee, also a coffee machine. Mini bar with fizzy pop, wine beer and water, changed daily, but they do come early, around 8am. Balcony is very hot due to the loud air con machine on it, it’s a shame as it would have been nice to sit out there with a morning coffee. Also there is no plug near a mirror and no dressing table.. We was room 478. Right in the middle.
FOOD it’s like a cattle market in the buffet area, kids running around unattended which is dangerous and annoying, parents need to keep their kids under control at meal times. Plenty to choose from, breakfast bacon sausage to continental, cereal omelettes etc etc lunch can’t comment on as we had gyros from beach. Dinner again a cattle market plenty again to choose from, you won’t go hungry. Also make sure you sanitise before and leaving the restaurants as that’s how the germs spread.
Al a carte, we only managed to use the pan Asian which was nice but nothing spectacular. These are located at the beach which is lovely setting. I would recommend booking these online in the Mitsis app as soon as you can before you leave for your holiday as you won’t be able to book here as it’s always fully booked.
There is an American hut, sweet hut, healthy hut which is located in the middle. Really nice burgers, salads and sweet treat (waffles, icecream etc) these are open all day.
It’s about 20 mins journey to airport. About 10 mins into town. About 45 mins to Kos town.
All in all would we return NO just because, for us it’s too big and busy.
And NO we didn’t catch the bug that’s going around here. It’s a case of use common sense with basic hand hygiene and wash your hands, and if you sick stay in your bloody room.
Very nice hotel I really liked it and the staff are so freindly and the food was amazing
Perfect huge hotel with everything you need..many pools, amazing food and very nice staff, who was always willing to help with every request. Me and my boyfriend had amazing time. Thank you so much. Teressa
Disappointing experience — not what I would expect from a 5-star resort
After staying at many 5-star resorts across Europe within a similar price bracket to Mitsis Blue Domes, it is disappointing to say that, in our experience, this resort falls short of what I would expect from a 5-star hotel.
On the surface, it is a beautiful resort with gorgeous aesthetics and impressive surroundings. However, it became increasingly clear that there are cost-saving processes in place that ultimately result in an underwhelming level of service and facilities.
Some of the things we found particularly disappointing included:
It is a real shame that we experienced so many issues because the resort itself is genuinely beautiful to look at. However, for the price we paid and based on our experiences at other 5-star resorts across Europe, we expected a significantly higher standard of service, facilities and overall experience.
Unfortunately, we would not return to Mitsis Blue Domes and, based on this experience, we will also be avoiding Mitsis hotels in the future.
