Akti Beach Club

After reading some reviews I was a little apprehensive but can honestly say it's a lovely hotel. All areas are spotless and staff work tirelessly all the time. We were there for 10 days and all the same staff everyday. There's a nice shop near the beach a tad cheaper than the hotel shop but that is also well priced. The room we had was spacious with 3 beds. We were given a shared room pool on the second floor room 812 which was a nice suprise. The only criticism I have is inconsistent housekeeping, some days we weren't given enough towels and only twice our bed was made with sheets . Most days they made the bed with blanket and left the sheets at the bottom of the bed so we had to make the beds ourselves a little thing I didn't want to do on holiday. Twice we didn't even get sheets so had to sleep under the blanket which was coarse. Our patio door didn't lock and it took 3 requests for it to be fixed. The air con in the room is great. There's a fridge but no water. Reception are friendly . The pool towels were new and fresh. Never a problem getting a sunbed. We stayed round the main pool and liked the atmosphere. I went over to the animation pool once and it was very noisy and didn't have a nice feel like the main pool. Kostas on the bar is a lovely guy and we often talked about music as he plays in a band. The food was the best I've had at an all inclusive always a good choice of dishes. Beer wine water and soft drinks are self serve. We attended the mermaid restaurant during our stay. The food was ok some overcooked. It was a bit dark in there and lacked atmosphere. The beach is narrow and coarse and big rocks there are sand bags which make it easier to get in the sea but could go out further as it's still very rocky and slippy. You do need water shoes. Pedalos and kayaks are free but it was too windy on the day we asked so couldn't use them. There's a fish spa priced at 10 euros which we enjoyed. They also offer spa treatments but found them abit pricey . The entertainment at night is over at the amphitheatre we only went to the greek night and it was very good. There's a music quiz at the main pool bar on a wednesday which was fun. We took the trip over to bodrum and highly recommend it. Booked through Jet2 as the price wasn't much different to other operators and included the port tax and transfers. We also did the greek night on Zia but didn't get enjoy that so would say spend your money elsewhere. We also went into kos town and that was nice to walk round. Kardamena is lovely we went a few times on the free shuttle bus. The bus is a free for all and could be better organised. The shared pool was nice we only used it once a water station would be nice. If your on the 2nd floor it was a hassle keep going to your room for the loo and a trek to the bar for a drink. It is also very shallow. I wouldn't have paid extra for it to be honest. Overall we really liked there but wouldn't go again as we like to try new places but would definitely consider another akti hotel. Travelled with a 14 year old. Tourist tax is 15 euros per room per night.

Can’t fault it to be honest, this was our third time here, first time was 2021 for 7 days, once covid restrictions allowed travel, then we went back 2022 for 10 days as we enjoyed is so much.

Previous visits we was a family of 5, now a 3 as our two eldest are 21 and 19 so it was my wife and I plus our 14 year old daughter.

We came across is again when looking for this year and thought “why not!”

We had room 806 with a shared pool, ground floor which was really convenient, we had all we needed within the room, aircon is brilliant! Fridge was restocked daily with whatever you used from there during the previous day which was a a nice touch. Safe key given when checking in, no extra charge, if only more hotels did this as it’s a little thing that I feel makes a difference.

Cleaners came in every day however it felt a little hit a miss, some days they went all in, others it felt like they did the minimum. This would be the only improvement I would say management need to look at, should be more consistent.

We stayed at our shared pool during the day although there is are others, one with the music and entertainment and one near the main building so you can pick and choose what type of day you want.

Beach is nicely set up with a bar close to hand, someone comments below re the beach but it’s nature so what’s to be expected!?

My wife had a massage at the Spa and really enjoyed it.

Restaurant is nice, always found a table, always keen and staff very attentive, food is good, loads of variety at all meal times and snacks available throughout the day.

Kardamenia is great village to walk around and have a few drinks, shuttle bus makes it easier, it can be a bit of a scramble but that’s to be expected. Can highly recommend the “Bands bar” for good music and drinks! “Gia Masa” Greek night is brilliant with good food.

When all is said and done, Akti is a great place to visit, you get all you need to have a relaxing time or a lively time, stay there or travel about, which we didn’t do this time but in 2022, we hired a car and toured the island.

We had a wonderful experience, and a special thank you goes to Gevorg, our bartender, and Aurora, our waitress. They were both absolutely fantastic — friendly, attentive, professional, and always happy to help. Their excellent service and warm attitude made our stay even more enjoyable.
