Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Checked in for a weeks stay booked in August last year to be informed that the pool access room booked and paid for could not be given to us for the first 3 nights due to a systems error I travel extensively and have never ever encountered this More worryingly was that other guests whilst talking shared similar experiences One couple noting that another couple had to stay at another hotel for a night The promised room delivered was stunning but the down graded room was nothing special We received 3 lunches as compensation and some money back ( a day later ) but had I have known this was going to happen I would have not Stayed here So if you book a pool access room please know you may not secure that room on check in Restaurant food is fantastic Staff at breakfast lovely although coffee way to strong for my liking View from pool is beautiful and adequate shade and beds Unfortunately no information given about pool towels being left on beds for guests to use we thought it www guests bagging a lounge Definitely room for improvement in communication
The staff in this hotel are outstanding!! Everyone we met was welcoming and could not do enough for us, all of them are a true credit to Thalassa Boutique Hotel. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and we had petals and a bottle of wine to welcome us what an absolute beautiful way to start our week!! It is very quiet around the pool so very relaxed and for a bit of life we did a beach day, boat trip and hired a car as the Island needs to be explored!! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, thank you for a fantastic week with you x
Staff are fab .food is fab . Xxx
My wife and I stayed for 9 nights early June and had a super relaxing holiday. The superlatives within other reviews speak for themselves and are all justified.
Whilst we were on a B&B basis, the quality of food and drinks was so exceptional and reasonably priced that we ate at the hotel restaurant every lunch and evening apart from when we spent a couple days touring the island.
The pool area had 2 lovely pools and was very well laid out with plenty of large beds and comfortable sofas to sunbathe or chill out with a book and a drink. The gardens surrounding the pool area and restaurant were also a beautiful backdrop of mature Olive trees and wild flowers.
All staff were excellent, but given we spent so much time eating at the hotel a special mention must go to Restaurant Manager, Greg who helped to guide us through the beautiful menus and wines.
The world has so many amazing places to see and stay, and it is not often we return to a hotel more than once, but Thalassa Boutique Hotel might just make us break that routine...
Overall this is a beautiful hotel and worth having on your radar.
Firstly, the breakfast & bar/restaurant staff are fabulous, helpful and engaging. Ilva (days) & Chris(nights) are helpful on reception, but some of the others on reception not so much.
The room we had was lovely (214 deluxe pool view) and by far the most spacious (c. 6ft x 6ft) shower area we've ever had when travelling. Bed is spacious and very comfy, although a little more lighting would be useful in the sink area.
The pool area is absolutely fabulous, with two fresh water pools, loads of double sunbeds/cushions/daily fresh towels, & seating areas, either shady or full sun, and no scramble at dawn to get one is a real plus!
Food wise, the breakfast is excellent with loads of choice and what a view. Lunch poolside was lovely, as was the evening menu the one time we ate in the hotel.
There are two lovely sandy beaches within a 5 to 7 minute walk, however, those with mobility issues may struggle to get to them.
A note re the Lassi area, it's exactly a half mile to the very busy main road, along which there are plenty of restaurants and a few bars. Although we didn't have a bad meal, there is a real lack of diversity across the menu's. Trentis bar has fabulous sunset views from it's spacious balcony. Aqua Marina is nice for lunch & evening, & on Mondays & Thursdays has live greek music & dancing. Tsogia's is well worth a lunch visit, just make sure you're hungry as they clearly enjoy feeding people.
Improvements.... there is no provision In the hotel for late checkouts to have a shower (our pick up was at 8pm) therefore you need to use the poolside shower and reception toilets to change. If you want a late room, it's only available if the hotel is not full, and then at a cost of 110€.
Would we come back? Simple answer is No. The hotel is soooo nice, however the Lassi resort doesn't offer enough variety to make coming back realistic for us.
