Wonderful room Great staff Delicious food
This is an incredible Hotel, but you do need to know that it is at the end of the island area and a straight track uphill. It is extremely treacherous to get to your room with your luggage. This is not a hotel for anyone with mobility concerns. It is a wonderful hotel with beautiful views, and that makes up for the treacherous Trek to your room. As for the rooms, they are fine, somewhat dated and could have been cleaner. There was a bottle of wine in our room to welcome us which was lovely. It was amazing to sit on the front porch and look at the amazing view! There is an incredible pool area which was lovely as well. The food at breakfast was mid. Things were not kept at a hot temperature so eggs and meats were cold. It was a very nice stay aside from those things mentioned. And again the Trek straight up hill is a very difficult!!
Disappointing for the price The hotel is in a beautiful location and the views really are amazing. The pool area is lovely, and one of the best things for us was that there was no problem getting a sunbed, even later in the day. The balconies are also a great size, with an airer for drying clothes, and the views from them are fantastic. However, there were quite a few negatives, especially considering the price we paid. The hotel is built very steeply into the side of a hill, with the apartments spread out, so I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with mobility issues. The lift to the top of the hotel was broken during our stay, which made getting around even more difficult. Given the layout of the hotel, this is a pretty significant issue. When we arrived, the door to our room was broken, which immediately wasn’t a great start. More generally, the hotel is clearly poorly maintained and in need of investment. The room was dated and could have been cleaner, and the air conditioning was extremely poor. It barely seemed to cool the room, which made it uncomfortable. Breakfast had a decent enough choice, but unfortunately the hot food was cold. For the price being charged, this really isn’t good enough. We only stayed for one night at the end of a week-long holiday, and sadly it wasn’t the relaxing final night we had hoped for. Even getting something as simple as an ice bucket was a struggle, with staff having difficulty finding ice for us. I do want to mention that the porter was lovely and very helpful, and he was one of the positives of our stay. Unfortunately, the overall experience just didn’t match what we expected from the hotel or the price we paid. If you’re considering booking this hotel, I would strongly recommend reading the reviews carefully and looking beyond the beautiful photographs and amazing views. There are clearly some recurring issues around the steep location, maintenance and dated rooms that are worth being aware of before booking. Overall, the location, views and pool are fantastic, but they can’t make up for the number of problems we experienced. The broken room door, broken lift, poor air conditioning, dated and not particularly clean room, cold breakfast and general lack of maintenance really let the hotel down. It’s a real shame because the hotel has so much potential in such a stunning location, but for the price we paid, we expected considerably better.
We initially booked the Hotel as we thought Agia Efimias was a good location for us to explore the island as it was quite centrally placed. Really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel, we were predominantly out exploring but when we did use the facilities found them to be good and always clean and maintained. Staff were super, whether at reception or at breakfast .... very good. Even the house keeping staff deserve a mention, our room was always immaculate. Room was as we expected, quite spacious and very clean. We used the elevator for breakfast and did not find it to be a big deal.
June vacation for 2 adults bought as a package via British Airways. Absolutely love Kefalonia for being scenic & not packed out. We used the hotel as a base for exploring due to its fairly central location. In my opinion, I thought it was a quiet location at the far end of the small town/bay. Breakfast and accommodation was ok and when the towel rail fell off, it was rectified the same day. 10 min walk to Tavernas, quayside & shops. I don’t normally return to the same location as life’s is to short not to explore, but I was satisfied with the Hotel offering and would recommend if asked.
