This recently renovated resort complex comprises 4 annexe buildings and is surrounded by gently rolling hills from one side and the Aegean Sea on the other. Sitting at less than a kilometre from the sandy beach in the peaceful countryside it is ideal for a relaxed family vacation. It is located at 3 km from the town of Pefkochori and 6 km from the picturesque village of Paliouri, at the southern end of the Kassandra peninsula of Chalkidiki. Guests that enjoy minimum cluttering of furniture will appreciate the minimalistic decoration of the rooms and their airy atmosphere. They include all the required facilities, such as a well-equipped kitchen, fridge, comfortable beds and a nice balcony or terrace, but there is plenty of space too. Guests that enjoy sports will be spoiled for choice, besides the swimming pool there is also a fully-equipped gym.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
After reading the reviews for this hotel prior to our holiday, we were very nervous. However, having just returned, there was no need for our concerns. This is a lovely, clean family run hotel. Every member of staff we encountered were very welcoming and friendly. Special shout out to the shuttle bus driver, the lifeguard and the bar staff who were fantastic.
The rooms are basic, but they are clean and tidy. The air conditioning worked absolutely fine. The beds are very firm and not comfortable, and this is the only negative of our stay. Other than that, the rooms are as expected. The beds are made daily and towels changed every 3 days. Rooms also have a fridge/freezer which is very useful.
The pool is a great size and depth. No issues getting a sunbed during our stay. There is a fairly busy road that runs alongside the hotel, but this is completely hidden by trees/bushes and you soon forget it's there.
The food was delicious. Breakfast had the same options daily with a variety of different foods available for lunch/dinner. Plenty of choice and we all ate well. Ice cream for the children available every lunch/dinner too.
I would recommend a visit to Pefkohori. Free shuttle from hotel takes 5-10 minutes. Loads of shops, bars and restaurants to visit.
Overall, a fantastic holiday and would recommend a visit!
Great Hotel, shame about TripAdvisors ridiculous password change right in the middle of writing a review though. Go there you will love it, you can get away from the narrow minded rip off UK, its GREAT FOOD, FREE BOOZE (go all inclusive) and 4 EUROS for a packet of cigarettes, WONDERFUL STAFF, SUNSHINE and feeling HAPPY, PALM TREES and OLIVES everywhere, Ignore the pompous reviews just GO You won't want to come back.
This was our first visit to the Port Marina Hotel, but we will definitely be going again. We went in the first 2 weeks of September, and the Hotel was fairly quiet. Although the rooms are quite basic, they are well attending by the housekeeping staff. We went 'all inclusive' and the food was excellent with a mix of cuisines to suite everybody. (even fish fingers, chips and sprouts!) I cannot speak highly enough of the Staff. They were all very friendly, polite and helpful. I am disabled but the Hotel was easy to navigate. One of my daughters has special needs and the Staff were very kind to her and made her feel special (something that's not often experienced!) The minibus (and driver) is an amazing perk. It took you into Pefkohori and brought you back and also to the local beach and back. It was great not having to worry about getting out and about. The pool is exactly as it looks in the pictures and is well maintained; it was also actually warm enough to swim in! Overall, I would say that this Hotel is definitely value for money and would wholeheartedly recommend it.
Our stay at Xenios Port Marina Hotel in Halkidiki was a complete nightmare. The room was dirty, extremely noisy, and most importantly, completely unsafe for a child. We were unexpectedly placed on the ground/basement floor (as we noticed special area for all not Greek families) where the room opens directly to a staircase leading straight to the pool. There are absolutely no safety barriers, railings, or gates from the room side, meaning a child can run out into the deep pool area in a second.To make matters worse, there was a disgusting, constant smell of sewage inside the room and not hygiene sanitary tools. Also we had broken glass window within entire stay with sharp glass edges… It is a complete sanitation and safety hazard. When we filed an official complaint, the management flatly refused to relocate us, claiming the hotel was fully booked. Instead of fixing these severe safety and plumbing issues, they tried to profit out of our misery by offering a paid All-Inclusive upgrade with a "discount"! The management doesn't care about child safety or hospitality once they get your money. Do not risk your family's safety, choose another hotel!
Ok, ok. Im not going to knock the complex but arrive early hours in the morning due to Jet2 problems but still paid the 5 euro tax for a night we wasn't there. Rooms are very bland. Clean but not as described. Don't get fooled..... No drinking water in the fridge upon arrival. Had to ask for cups of water at reception. No tea/coffee making making facilities when you first wake up so have to wait for the restaurant to open. Out of the 5 kitchen cupboards and one full set of drawers there was not one item of cutlery / plates around. TV is not multi lingual and very limited maybe 2 english speaking channels. The complex is nice with a nice pool but getting bar snacks... well forget that. No evening entertainment either so you have to travel to pefkohori for a nice night out. In my opinion dont waste your money.
