Eliros Mare

Just back from 2 weeks in the Eliros Mare as a family of 4, great staff, lovely grounds and impeccably clean.

Rooms We had 2 Rooms 201 & 202, these were facing the pool and bar area right next to reception and the initial thoughts were the rooms would be noisy but that couldn't be further away from the truth they were quiet and perfectly located, strange thing was in an all inclusive hotel a mini bar was not included, we had one issue with a blocked sink and the issue was resolved in 15 minutes tremendous service, the shower was excellent the best water pressure of all time ☺the rooms were a little dark even with all the lights on.

Food Breakfast had everything you could need very fresh top quality, Lunch in the beach side restaurant was limited and not my favorite but was ok for a quick snack, but there was a good selection in the main restaurant, evening meal in the main restaurant was good sometimes the food wasn't as hot as it could be and it was missing something like a griddle station for steaks and chicken, fish etc. we also went to the beach side restaurant once in the evening which was good but the menu didn't change so we only went once.

Drinks Excellent quality of drinks on the all inclusive package (except no mini bar), we spent most nights relaxing playing cards outside and were looked after really well by Alexandros.

Pool In my opinion the pool is probably too small for the size of the hotel, its a really nice setting but there aren't enough sunbeds, and the sunbeds although they look comfortable they are completely flat and after a while made my back hurt ! something that could be improved is staff collecting empty drinks from tables during the day but this never happened

Beach The beach was stunning with plenty of reclining sunbeds and parasols, most days the sea is quite choppy and some days it has a red flag, but in all its a great beach and where we spent most of our days.

Location Supermarket over the road is handy especially with no mini bar, and a few shops and tavernas, Georgioupoli is 5 minutes taxi away and isnt much to write home about although it has a few nice tavernas, Rethimno 25 mins away in a taxi is a stunning place with a buetiful old town and harbour and some amaxing restaurants

Overall a great hotel and worthy of a 5* review there is some room for improvement, but not much.

Loved our stay at Eliros Mare, everything was wonderful - food was tasty and varied for all meals (breakfast and dinner included in half board, dinner can be switched for lunch on request), rooms were beautiful and with a lot of nice details that made the difference, the animation team was great (stretching on the beach, aqua gym in the sea). Beach was wide and not too crowded, sunbeds comfortable, beach bar drinks were great. Would recommend it anytime and would return here again!
