The Royal Senses Resort and Spa

Such a wonderful hotel. We had a lovely family holiday here with our two teenage boys. The hotel is modern and luxurious. The facilities are amazing and the breakfast and dinner buffets are exceptional. The views from the hotel are stunning. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. All those who we met were friendly, caring and hardworking… I thank you all for making our stay so special… the man that came and took our bags from the bus, the staff at reception who greeted us on our arrival with cool hand towels, the person who took our bags and us to our room in a golf cart, the housekeeping staff that cleaned our room everyday, the huge team of staff in the restaurant who welcomed us and remembered our drink preferences at breakfast and dinner everyday and to Visalis at the gym for being such an amazing and encouraging gym instructor. I hope we are able to come again soon!

We booked this place on a whim, just a few weeks before arriving. We have two young (4/6) kids, and wanted somewhere relatively quiet, relaxing, peaceful, but still fun for the kids - and this place delivered.

Firstly, the aesthetics. Everything is wonderfully modern and clean, and the surrounding area and views are incredible. Honestly eating every day at the restaurants watching the sunset over the sea didn't get old - absolutely beautiful.

The room was great, rolling doors to separate the kids sleeping area (two good sized sofa beds), two big TVs, and a very nice large bed. The bathroom area was a bit odd as the sinks were "in the room" rather than in a separate bathroom area - and it was a small shame there was no bath, but overall I loved the room so won't take away from it.

The place itself, wonderfully quiet, slow, relaxing - possibly the most relaxed I've been. The main pools were by the stunning views, the water was incredibly warm, the little baby pool was great for the kids, and there were plenty of floats/toys about. Every lounger had a button to buzz for service, as well as being able to order to your table right from the app you can get set up with. Service was fast too!

There was also a splash-park area that had buckets, slides, all that kinda stuff, and the kids loved spending a couple hours there every day.

The kids club was AWESOME - big thanks to all the staff there. The kids absolutely loved it, we put them in for a couple of hours after breakfast and there was a lot of variety and they came back experts on Greek mythology :)

The beach was a very quick shuttle away that came every 30 minutes, very nice still and cool water, nice sandy area for the kids to play. I loved the beach although I will say Crete is wonderful for beaches and there are definitely others worth checking out if you like getting smashed by waves!

We took advantage of the on-site car rental vendors and photographers too, got a family photo shoot and rented a car for a couple of days to explore Crete - again can't fault those services at all!

There were a few entertainment events we went to - DJ at the beach in the evening, a magician, and a traditional Cretan night, nice ways to spend the evenings, the kids are still talking about the magician!

And the food - for a hotel buffet it was wonderful, a strong variety, felt like high quality food and ingredients, and some really good meat and fish on offer every day. For the first time in my life I was actively loading 50% of my plate with salad. And the desserts were brilliant. We went to the a la carte restaurant which was also great but the kids loved the buffet so we stayed there predominantly.

Our son had a birthday whilst we were there, and the staff made him feel so special all day and presented us a wonderful chocolate cake and a song at dinner too - a lovely touch that ended such an awesome day for us.

Finally - the spa facilities. I had to try and work off some of those desserts - the gym was a decent enough size and there were plenty of fitness classes on, but I was happy to just hit the weights and ride the spin bikes on the terrace overlooking the sea! But wow - the spa itself - absolutely incredible. I've been to quite a few spas in my time but this definitely ranks up there as one of my favourite. I actually wish I went sooner in my trip as I'd have gone more times!

Anyway as you can tell, I had a wonderfully pleasant time here, and it was just a wonderful slice of paradise to kick off the summer holidays - and one I'll never forget.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful and everything went perfectly. The staff was incredible, especially Rafaela, who helped me organise a surprise for our wedding anniversary on the very same day. Her kindness and dedication made the occasion even more special and unforgettable.

The cleanliness was excellent, and the hotel is new and offers outstanding facilities and comfort. Every member of the staff was extremely friendly, professional, and always willing to help.

The food selection was impressive, with a huge variety of options, all very well prepared and delicious.

We truly enjoyed our stay and felt very well looked after. We will definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an exceptional experience.
