Overall loved the place and the service. We were given a nice room on top of the hill - the view was amazing. Walked into beautiful plates of fruits and snacks. Overall great value for money. In and out of the property was a breeze with ample parking. We’re surprised us with a going away box of turkish delight. The only complaint we had was that the gym had only 2 working treadmills and these 2 ladies would hog it for a long long time everyday - since there is no time restrictions - management should really look into this - we had to drive 20 mins away to get our daily runs

Great relaxing sea view time off

Disappointed with the whole experience. Hotel and rooms on first glance all look nice. However...cleanliness levels were poor from the restaurant to the rooms to the pool area. The restaurant floor never seemed to be cleaned thoroughly and was always plenty of ants and bits of food lying around. The room was cleaned everyday however the same dirt was found on the balcony floor and bedroom floor the whole holiday. There was also always plates left lying around for extremely long periods in the walk ways everyday. Also we were in a large group and we always felt like an annoyance to the staff...particularly the only blazer wearing chap (assume he was in charge) in the restaurant who came across as extremely rude to all of us and seemed horrible to his staff also...maybe his attitude is rubbing off on a few others! A fair few other smalls things just felt below average which was a real shame as the hotel could be and probably was lovely previously.

Expected so much better after the reviews here!!

Just returned from a lovely trip to this beautiful hotel. Staff were exceptional and really made us feel all welcome (including our 1 year old). Always felt they went the extra mile.
Food was fantastic! Half board was more than enough. Desserts were amazing and plenty of delicious fresh food to choose from. Some of the best hotel buffet food I’ve ever had. Drinks were generally normally priced for this sort of hotel (4 euros for soft drinks, 7 euros for glass of wine, around 12 euros for cocktails).
Things to note:
- spa is worth a visit - enables you to use their sauna and steam room too for the holiday and the treatments were fab
- it’s very quiet near to the main pools but because the hotel is on a hill, you can hear a bit of road noise when on your balcony - didn’t quite anticipate this but that was my fault for not checking!
- the shared pools outside the rooms are freezing - look great on photos and still lovely to have. But if you’re after a heated pool, you’ll need a private pool.
- the beach is a short walk away or a 2 minute drop off - it wasn’t the most beautiful beach of all time. If you’re after long sandy beach walks, probably not the one to go for!
Otherwise, a really lovely stay and just what we needed.

Relaxing break

Our holiday at this hotel was exceptional. We were made to feel so welcome on arrival with a complimentary refreshing drink & snack. The decor is beautiful, room was gorgeous with wonderful sea view only down side was no sun on our balcony (this may have been due to visiting in October when the sun is lower).  Food was excellent with a superb selection of food on offer at the buffet. All the staff were fantastic but especially Eirini & Eleni in the restaurant & George at the terrace bar. The pools were lovely & we found the salt water one the most refreshing. Visited their sister hotel the Royal Blue which is a gentle downhill walk which is also lovely & there's a small man made beach. 
We would highly recommend staying at The Royal Senses, Crete for a very relaxing, luxurious holiday.

Luxury Stay.

I can only recommend this property. Food was great, facilities more than luxurious, and the staff friendly, helpful and informed.

But let me get into some details. For context, we stayed here in the last week of the ‘24 summer season end of October. The hotel closed for the season after our departure and thus might be one of the last reviews of this season. We travelled here as a family of four, with two children aged 7 and 10. 

We’d booked two rooms which the hotel management had ensured were adjacent. The hotel does not have connecting rooms, but went above and beyond to ensure we were close and comfortable. On our second day they even upgraded us to a royal villa so we were essentially in one lodging as a family. If you’re staying with kids the villa’s are a great option. Besides the plunge pool, outside lounge and sitting area, the two bathrooms and ample sleeping space in the couch-turned-bed for two is plenty of space for four. Having said that, there’s no door separating the master bedroom (upstairs) from the living and sleeping area downstairs. So if you’re looking for a bit of parental privacy, book two separate rooms.

The facilities are solid. Our kids would start this review raving about the large water slide installation on the children’s pool, the kiddie pool water play area, and the kids club. Really solid setup. Besides that, there are two olympic length swimming pools (one with seawater, and one heated with pool water) in the main hotel area. Both are open and enjoyed by children. There’s a smaller but idyllic adults only pool by the spa area. The gym is well equipped and the two tennis courts are bookable at reception for free (first come first serve) and the hotel has tennis equipment to borrow.

To the important stuff: Breakfast is really a great spread. I’ve attached images as always.
