Galini Palace

Very clean, great food and friendly staff — closer to a very good 4-star experience

We booked a two-week all-inclusive stay at Galini Palace. Overall, our experience has been very positive, especially the cleanliness, food and staff. However, several details fall short of what we would expect from a five-star resort.

🧹 CLEANLINESS & ARRIVAL • The resort is exceptionally clean and tidy. • Daily housekeeping, with fresh towels and sheets. • Pools are cleaned every day. • Quick check-in, with cart assistance to the room. • A lovely welcome selection in the fridge: water, wine and sparkling wine.

🛏️ ROOM & COMFORT • Excellent air conditioning. • Remote-controlled sheer and blackout curtains—the blackout curtains darken the room properly. • Fridge, TV, hairdryer, good storage and plenty of power sockets. • Excellent water pressure and consistently available hot water. • Mattresses and pillows were adequate.

Room drawbacks: • Soundproofing between rooms is practically nonexistent. Fortunately, noisy neighbours were not an issue during our stay. • The shower has no closing door, so water splashes onto the bathroom floor. • One-ply toilet paper feels out of place in a five-star hotel.

🍽️ FOOD & RESTAURANTS • Food was one of the highlights, with dinner clearly the strongest meal. • Breakfast, lunch and dinner have distinct selections. • Breakfast is essentially the same each day, but still offers a good variety. • Buffet and à la carte dining options are available. • No restaurant queues, tables always available and dirty plates cleared quickly.

Desserts lean heavily towards Greek flavours such as honey and pistachios. If those are not your preference, the dessert selection may feel less enjoyable.

🍹 DRINKS & STAFF • Friendly staff, and everyone we encountered spoke English. • Cocktails were properly prepared with care. • Pool-bar service was good. • No notable all-inclusive restrictions during our stay, although shisha costs €23 extra.

🏊 POOLS & BEACH • Our private pool was small but practical and enjoyable. • Main-pool temperatures were comfortable during our stay. • Plenty of loungers and umbrellas—we never struggled to find a place. • The beach is immediately outside the resort.

Things to know: • None of the pools are heated, including the indoor pool. • There are no showers near the main pool area.

🏋️ GYM & SPA • My brother used the gym and found it adequately equipped, clean and comfortably cool. • A spa and indoor pool are available, although I did not personally use them.

📶 WI-FI One of the biggest everyday frustrations. Speeds were around 20 Mbps download and upload when connected, but frequent disconnections made it unreliable. This needs improvement for a five-star property.

🌧️ RAIN & BAD-WEATHER PREPARATION The resort seemed poorly prepared for rain: • Occasional power outages. • Flooding in the kitchen, bar and other shared areas—not in our room. • Some surfaces became slippery.

This was disappointing for a hotel in this category.

🚗 PARKING Conveniently located near the entrance, but with no shade at all. Cars are fully exposed to the sun.

⭐ OVERALL IMPRESSION We have enjoyed our stay. Cleanliness, food, friendly service and the easy availability of loungers are the main strengths.

However, unreliable Wi-Fi, poor preparation for rain and several room details prevent it from feeling like a true five-star resort. I would describe it as a very good 4-star experience.

We visited galalini palace for the second time in 6 weeks and The second visit was just as amazing as the first, leaving me and my partner not wanting to come home. The manager Andrea's is most probably the nicest manager of a hotel I have met in my many years of travelling all over the world and staying in 100s of hotels. Taking his time to greet and guests, and on hand to deal with any issues or just there to answer any questions top guy. The staff are so friendly and willing to help in any way they can. Always making sure our needs of fluids and snacks are met, cleaning around pool areas threw out the day. The room we stayed in was excellent value for money with our own pool. The cleaners came in daily cleaned to a excellent standard. The food daily was amazing buffet offering many options, always something for everyone. Snack bar is always full of options from pizza burgers or even gyros served fresh. Children's slides and pool area available for children in a very safe maintained location, with their very own snack bar. I am already planning my next visit for June next year to take my grand children. Highly recommend this hotel for a nice relaxing,chilled holiday. Shop is within walking distance 3 min up the road, then 15 min walk out left of the main reception takes to you a little village with shops cafes and pubs, also shops. Any questions when there reception staff are there at hand to help out.
