Not 5 stars and no luxury.

We are currently staying at Euphoria Resort, which feels more like a budget hotel where costs have been cut across the board — from the beach towels to the in-room amenities.

We booked a Signature Room with a shared pool. Unfortunately, the location means that our terrace receives no sunlight, while the standard rooms enjoy plenty of sun. The hotel also advertises a premium welcome package. That was three apples and two iced teas. In addition, the hotel promises regular replenishment of espresso capsules, but this has not been happening.

The hotel is clean and well maintained, and if you are comfortable with a very basic experience where there is little to no sense of luxury, this may be the right place for you. However, if you expect a genuine five-star experience that lives up to the standards associated with a five-star hotel, I would recommend staying away from Euphoria Resort.

What a pleasant stay as a family with two small kids

We had a wonderful stay at the resort, food was good, they even have fresh baby food purees. The hotel is well kept, clean and staff friendly, the pool is kid friendly a very big so you will never feel too crowded even in July. We went there in July, but didn’t find the weather being too hot since the hotel is right next to the sea. As a cat lover, I was very happy to see the cats at the hotel are quite in a good condition. We fed them every day with our leftovers during our stay but I wish I have brought some cat food with me. So if you are going there and you love cats, please bring some cat food with you. At the reception they even have a box where you can donate some cash for the stray animals there. I happily support hotels that support stray animals. I only wish the hotel had a capacity to feed the cats there and provide them fresh water daily. Would be happy to come back there again - it is a very family friendly hotel, my kids really enjoyed the stay and even made some friends there 😊

A wonderful hotel that exceeded all our family’s expectations.

A wonderful hotel that exceeded all our family’s expectations.

From the moment we arrived, we felt cared for. We were welcomed with cold drinks and refreshing towels, and we were checked in immediately after our arrival (2 hours before the official check-in time).

The hotel has a very convenient layout. Everything you need is there, and everything is close by. At the same time, our room felt private, peaceful, and quiet.

I also tried tennis for the first time during our stay. The tennis coach was amazing. Both the group and private lessons were enjoyable from beginning to end. I really didn’t expect to find such a high level of coaching at a resort.-poplł

The kids’ club was also excellent. Sometimes our son even didn’t want to go on the water slides because he preferred going to the kids’ club.

The service was friendly, and the overall atmosphere was very calm and relaxing. Both the staff and the guests made the hotel feel peaceful.

The entertainment program was never intrusive, but there was always something to do.

We also really enjoyed the à la carte restaurants. It was nice that they even had a children’s menu.

We came home with so many wonderful memories.

There were only a couple of small downsides for us.

The room cleaning could definitely be better. Sometimes it felt like the room hadn’t really been cleaned, and only fresh towels had been brought.

The towel station could also be improved a little. Sometimes we had to wait for a staff member to arrive.

Overall, though, you can really see that the hotel is doing its best. They care about the service they provide, and it’s clear that guest satisfaction is very important to them.

Amazing (again)

This was our 3rd time at Euphoria and can honestly say would still go back again. From check in to check out, everything about the place is brilliant. Look at previous review, everything remains true, but for those looking to go, here are the main areas which matter:

Room: Spotless, no damage, no chunks out of walls or scuffs in the paint. Bathroom was beyond clean, no black marks in shower you see at other places. Bed was very comfy, and all the extras were extremely welcome (fruit in room each day, drinks in minibar etc). We were in 721 with a swim up room, and the pool was always so clean and clear you could drink it. At 1.4 metres deep it is perfect for swimming, or relaxing in. The air con worked perfectly. It was 35 degrees some days and yet you'd come back to the room to a perfect temperature, if you wanted you could get it as cold as in a car with air con on.

Breakfast: As we had the signature room (just pay the extra and do it) you get breakfast in the small restaurant by the beach. Amazing views, amazing food, lovely staff. Always ample choice and all freshly made in front of you. Nothing beats waking up and enjoying your breakfast with views like that, in the sun, with a sea breeze on you.

Lunch: Plenty of options either in the big restaurant, the smaller by the beach, by the pool or by the slides. Again, always massive choice. We mainly went by the pool as you could grab something and take back to the room and have by the swim up pool there.

Tea: The choice on an evening was amazing and the quality was unreal. All the staff were extremely welcoming and attentive. Within minutes you had drinks order taken and delivered to the table. The restaurant was always spotless and the staff were always cleaning spills and the like. I ate like an absolute king for a week and other than salad I don't think I had the same thing twice. Whether it be prawns the size of small lobsters or unreal puddings, the food was amazing! You'd have to be either the most fussy person ever or be allergic to everything not to enjoy the food.

Main pool area: One thing I cannot stand is people who get up at 6am and reserve sunbeds to then not turn up till 10am. There is a special place in hell reserved for them. One enormous plus at Euphoria is no one does that. You can enjoy breakfast, walk down to the pool at 9am or even 10am and there be plenty of beds available. The pool area was always really clean and the staff were constantly walking taking drinks orders or taking empties. There is the vitamin bar with the happiest man ever and they are lovely, a nice health kick before hitting the cocktails. One thing I did notice this year from last is the pool was cooler, and I don't mean you'd gone from bath to arctic, but a few degrees down you notice getting in but you are not cold once you get in, just the usual area to get past before you're comfortable. There is a little ice cream cart which does the rounds and is a welcome treat to cool you down, again the ice cream is really nice, not the cheap stuff.

Drinks: Cannot fault them. Proper brands not the cheap paint stripper you get at some places. Think the longest I ever had to wait to be served was 1 min, and I'm not joking. Excellent choice in cocktails and always freshly made to order and they are not tight with measures either so you can actually enjoy a proper cocktail. I wish I'd paid more attention to names as would definitely like to call some people out who were beyond friendly and made the best drinks. The ladies in the pool bar were all brilliant.

So far, everything is perfect. There are are few areas to improve on:

In the signature rooms, restocking the mini bar would be good as when you are sitting by that pool enjoying being there, it is a bit of a trek to the bar to get a drink. However, it is not the end of the world getting some steps in during the day

The indoor/outdoor lounge area - minimal seats so on an evening you are lucky to get a place to sit.

There clearly is a resident cat and it had spawned a load of kittens around the area our room was. Now you'd think some people had never seen a cat before as children and adults spent most of their time holding these kittens and bringing them food from the restaurants. It was a bit tedious having to navigate past the scores of people come to gawp at the cats and bring them offerings and a bit further down there was a distinct smell of cat s**t which isn't the nicest smell ever. Food trays were left scattered everywhere which I'm sure the staff were sick of having to clean up constantly. Whilst I'm not against having a cat but there must be a better way to ensure they are looked after.

Those are literally the only bad points. Seen some of the 1 star reviews and honestly it sounds like a different hotel to the one we stayed in. I say again, I would go back again in a heartbeat. Euphoria management, if you ever do a prize giveaway, would be more than happy to be in the draw.

Lovely resort but with flaws

I always try to give a fair balanced report and will not let the negatives completely overshadow the positives but I do need to comment on the negatives of this resort.

This is a lovely , well maintained and clean resort. The staff are overall very friendly and welcoming.

Pros: Food - we enjoyed every single meal we had . I cannot fault the food. My daughter did struggle to find her usual boring plain food so if you have a fussy kid eater then bear this in mind . The À la carte restaurants were a hit for us. My daughter loved the chefs grill where she had the best steak ever and me and my husband loved the Asian and Greek restaurants.

Drinks - The cocktails were fab. Nice strong drinks mostly using premium branded spirits . What I liked was that during dinner you could have a bottle of wine on the table so you didn’t have to keep relying on asking for more drinks. The only thing to note with the service is that we found they don’t really like you going to the bar to get drinks, especially the lounge bar. The a bit more relaxed at the pool bar. They rather serve you at the table. Even though they pride themselves on being an eco friendly resort they also get quite flustered if you go to the bar with your own cup. It’s something we do at every resort to keep our drinks cold but because of their computer ordering system I think they lose their rhythm if they then have to find your cup for your order.

Pool/waterpark - The main pool is massive and there are loads of sunloungers. We went for breakfast at 10am and there were still empty loungers around. There is also a quiet area if you want peace. We enjoyed the couple of slides at the water park . It’s great for kids 4+ .

Cons

The reason I had to give 3 stars because these negatives did actually impact our stay.

Check in - The check in process is disjointed and all over the place . You go to the desk, they tell you to sit down and check in on your smart phone. You have to painstakingly input everyone’s details into the form which is irritating after a long day of travelling . You then go back to the desk where you then have to wait for someone to show you to your room. You felt you were here there and everywhere.

Room/ Noise - We had a signature room with access to the sharing pool. So had our own terrace / sunbeds. We hate fighting for sunbeds so this was the only option for us. But, unfortunately from 11am onwards these terraces are completely in the shade. It’s mind boggling to me that these room types are in complete shade. We noticed that hardly anyone was sat on their terrace and hardly anyone was in the shared pool. Something to note - the shared pool is quite deep so not great for little ones. There’s also a sign saying no inflatables in the shared pool . No one was listening to this rule though (I agree! ) . The sun loungers on the terrace don’t lay flat either . You can only sit up on them.

Behind our room area (block 300 +) backs on to people’s houses . Starting at 4am every morning a dog starts barking and it doesn’t stop for hours. No exaggeration. My first proper day there I was exhausted from lack of sleep. I had to go and buy ear plugs from the shop. Even then , you could still slightly hear this dog barking . It starts barking again early evening when you’re in the room getting ready for dinner and it honestly drives you mad. I’m astounded I havnt seen anyone mentioning this on reviews . When you go to a 5 star resort you expect peace , relaxation and a good night sleep. Ive visited many 5 star resorts and I had my worst night sleep here. I’ve slept better in city centre Premier Inns. I thought it pointless mentioning it to reception because realistically what could they do about it with it not being on their property? Also, the walls are paper thin and we were unlucky to be next to some families whose children had screaming tantrums (not toddlers…older kids ) and their being a lack of good parenting.

The room design itself isn’t great. We were in a junior suite which has a partition between the bedrooms for privacy. We thought this would be lovely seeing as we were sharing with our teenage daughter but the bathroom area has no privacy. The shower and toilet rooms open out onto the main room. There’s no separate bathroom room. So when my daughter was in the shower we had to go into her bedroom to give her privacy . There’s also not enough places to hang anything up like wet swimwear. There’s also some god awful smells that come up from the shower.

Bar - there is no where near enough seating in the lounge area for drinks in the evening . A massive resort and a serious lack of bars / seating for the evening .

Overall , we had a nice family holiday but it was let down by the cons above . We won’t be back. Someone mentioned a couple of reviews down about the hotel collecting donations for the cats . I didn’t see this myself and I didn’t see any sign of the resort itself caring for the cats that are around. If anything they tell you not to feed them. All of them were not neutered. They are mostly friendly though and if you could bring some dry cat food to them they would be incredibly grateful to you as they have tough lives.
