Pool

We has a lovely holiday in Crete and spent a week at the Village Heights resort . Our apartment (1201) was lovely, with great views of the sea. It was very clean, it was cleaned everyday, The air conditioning was very good. The bed was extremely comfortable. The kitchen was compact with a good range of utensils, crockery, etc. The shower was very good. 
The pool areas are lovely, with three to choose from, the big pool by the main restaurant was very good with great space and lots of sun, there were always sun loungers available.  The pool near snack bar was good although did get quite busy and noisy at times.  The third pool, by the gym was smaller and shaded.  
We used the buffet restaurant for a few nights which was very good with a wide selection of foods, although the options were very similar each evening and not a lot of variation in selection.  The buffet was quite expensive compared to local restaurants in the nearby town of Hersonisos.   The restaurant did get quite busy but there are lots of tables to choose from and a very pleasant outdoor seating area.  We ate at the al carte Elia restaurant which was a lovely evening and the food was perfect.   
I was very happy with the support prior to arriving at the resort and this excellent service continued during our stay, with every request/question resolved immediately.  
The resort is quite secluded and I would recommend having a car as there is nothing nearby.  There is a bus that travels to the town of Hersonisos regularly throughout the day however, whilst a lovely town it is not somewhere I would need to visit more than once or twice.  However Village Heights is a large resort spread over a wide area with some hills and slopes.  There is always someone available to take you in a buggy if needed.  It is a great space to walk around and the gardens and open space areas are beautiful.  There is a lot of activities on site, tennis, volley ball, mini golf and a gym.  


A full service resort

This resort is not on the beach but on a hill  facing the sea, which is a pro, due to the high temperature in summer and the noisy beach life. It has a shuttle service to the closest village and sea shore, in case you don not fancy to use the car requiered to visit the island, every time. It looks like a traditional village and it is divided in several buildings about 4 apartments each with good master bedroom and shadowed terrace. Good privacy. Bathroom amenities a cleaning utilitues in the kitchenette. The resort has lots of activities to take part in, beside sports opportunities, a la carta restaurants and buffet, with special prices using them up to 4 meals. Late check out has a reasonable extra charge to spend up 8 hours more. It has airport service too.
The place is very safe as it has a security control in the entrace and lot of staff around.
The location is not so far from the good southern beahes, Heraklion, Knossos Palace Rethymmo, Spinalonga and  Mirabello. Some closer beaches as Potammos, Potammos dunes and Marina are good places. 


COMFORTABLE AND CONVENIENCE

Welcoming and friendly staff. The resort offers so much to do in both the day time and evening. The choices of food is fantastic and affordable. The Aegeo spa is fantastic. Despina was so amazing and attentive. She made me feel the most relaxed I've felt in years

Nearing our final day we will be sad to leave.  We have had a lovely time here, the resort is clean and tidy and maintained very well. The staff from housekeeping to bar/ restaurants are super friendly and helpful which makes a massive difference to a hotel stay. There is a mixed range of food in the bars /restaurants and buffet, I’m vegetarian and never found a problem to eat.  We were all inclusive and yes there is a limited amount that you have included but it’s enough of a selection and didn’t mind paying extra for the odd cocktail or meal. 
We had a gorgeous spa by Anna and Despina which worked magic on mine and my husband’s achy muscles and the treatments smelt wonderful felt like a new person with great skin after the scrub and massage. 
We walked from the hotel on the first day to Hersonissos (not our kinda place maybe back in the day when 20yrs old 😆) but an enjoyable walk and walked through a lovely village en route. 
We hired a car and ventured to south of island to a beach resort, amazing stunning scenery through the mountains and saw mountain goats and vultures which fly over frequently such a cool sight. 
They have a couple of cats 🐈‍⬛ around and it was a delight to see them looked after and well fed at their own cat cafe, they say hello but do their own thang! 
The pools are both clean and good size plenty of sun lounges nobody rushes to save a bed, it’s very chilled vibes at Citrus bar we were looked after by Maria and Jorge daily and they were very attentive to everyone’s requests.

Chilled vibes with Awesome Mountain View’s

We have just returned from an amazing holiday at Village Heights with some fabulous memories to share with our family and friends. 

The resort was lovely with friendly staff and a chilled vibe. We were a little worried about the location as it's up a hill away from the busy town of Hersonissos but to be honest this wasn't an issue at all as the hotel has so much to offer. We did hire a car (we always do), but the hotel also has a frequent shuttle to and from the coast. 

The facilities were amazing, with the option to have cookery and a wine-tasting lesson which we did and thoroughly enjoyed. The Cretan night was fun with professional and authentic dancers who gave us a little insight into traditional Cretan entertainment. 

Our room probably could have benefited from a lick of paint, but apart from that, the studio room we had for the two weeks was spacious and well-kept by our very friendly and wonderful housekeeper. 

The 'village' feel enabled us to not feel crammed as we also enjoyed the two pools, the grassed areas and the mini golf which were available for us too. My only slight criticism would be the closing of the pool at 6pm as in most hotels it tends to be a little later. Even a further 30 mins would be more usual.  

Beyond the hotel, I would recommend the ambience of the various old towns which aren't too far away as we enjoyed the old towns of Hersonissos and Malia. For more of a racy time, then just head to the coast where there's plenty of nightlife to enjoy. 

All in all, a wonderful time and worth a visit. We will certainly be visiting again, thank you Village Heights Resort.
