Excellent hotel. Food was excellent for the whole week. Bar staff throughout friendly and fun. Very accessible to beach and local amenities. Entertainment team Simone, Kath, Raphael, Greg, Rhianna, Basia, Barbie and Mia were excellent hosts and kept the kids and adults entertained with games all week.

In general it was a nice stay.

Starting from negatives:
- Firstly I wouldn't say it's a 5* hotel,as it's advertise itself.
-The room we were staying despite being very spacious looked very tired. Not many shelves in wardrobes and not enough hooks in bathroom to hang towels and bathrobes, I ended up hanging them over our room on wardrobe doors and room doors (we stayed in a room with a private plunge pool). 
- a la carte restaurant, I was surprised that upon the booking, you needed to select what are you going to eat-preorder, and you had to pay for drinks, it was first time I have visited a la carte restaurant in this form. Additionally, you could only book it once regardless you were staying a week or two, but it didn't matter as we wouldn't consider to book it again
- food was ok, not much choice though, and I think meat should be bit warmer, also I missed the fruit choice, especially in the morning. Over two weeks stay beloved grapes I have seen only twice and watermelon never was available in mornings. I ended up buying fruit in the local shop
- drinks, it was first time where on all inclusive holidays fresh juice wasn't available at least for breakfast. Drinks from machine weren't great, and again I was buying drinks in local shop. I don't drink alcohol,so can't express my opinion on that, but my husband said it was ok.
- there were few areas in the hotel which looked like they are not in use any more. Actually if you look on the TripAdvisor professional pictures, it looks like these areas are still in use, for example current baggage storage on these pictures looks like entertainment area, the same about roof restaurant, so it's bit misleading.

Positives:
- entertainment team makes your stay, they work super hard from the morning till late evening, making sure you will have loads of fun, so if you like being busy, make sure you will stay by activity pool
- resort was very clean, you could see staff working so hard from early hours till late, making sure the grounds and rooms are clean
- generally all staff was very polite, hardworking, and with smile on theirs face and happy to help anytime.
- if you book a trip through the hotel you will get prepacked lunch to take away with you

Summarises, it's a nice hotel, but it wasn't entirely what we were expecting to be, anyway staff will make it up, also it is within nice settings, lovely beach is across the road. Not far walk from the hotel there are amazing spots to watch incredible sunset and sunrise.

Tips: slides are working but only three hours a day from 11am -1pm and 5pm-6pm , we thought they don't work at all, but then we spotted the note on the gate of the slide.
There are loads of sunbeds, unless you decide to spend time by the activity pool, then may not be possible to get a sunbed in this area, as people leave their towels there over the night, some of the towels I have seen for a week, but hardly could see the owner.

Good stay

Bearing in mind we stayed here four years ago & was very pleased with this hotel leading us to book again, having returned we would not stay again unfortunately.

The positives:

The manager is very polite & helpful ( please see situation at the end)
Very good facilities for families, having several pools & water slides to entertain the children & excellent animation team.

Food quality is good, something to eat even for fussiest of people.

Drinks also good quality along with very pleasant bar staff, the all inclusive does finish at 10pm but you can move to another bar where you pay, so no problem there.

The negatives:
The standards at this hotel have dropped dramatically, there's no pride in this hotel.

The pool areas are not tidied up or hosed down at the end of any day & people take advantage of this, leaving their towels out on same beds all week, this doesn't make for a pleasant view to & from the restaurant or from your rooms morning & night & also leaving tiles dirty, not once in a week was it cleaned.

The pool slides had a slight leak 4 years ago which is now much worse & left all the slide steps & rails covered in rust.

The reception team apart from night staff (very pleasant & helpful) don't seem to be able to answer a question or make a decision without telling you to come back 3 times later to eventually get somewhere!

Housekeeping is not the best.

ON THE BEACH TRAVEL COMPANY:
So we booked two weeks before with On the Beach, standard annexe room, thinking we stayed in this part before & described in small print as 3 star, well we arrived & this was the start of 24 hours of lost holiday.
We were checked in late arrival by very pleasant young man who started to tell me where to find everything when we told him we had stayed previously, he looked horrified & passing us our key said if you don't like your room come back to reception in the morning & we will change it.
The room was across a road apart from the main hotel & oh my god, our balcony overlooked a court yard covered in dog excrement, weeds, rubbish etc, it was disgusting, dogs barking all night, road traffic! we had been put in the staff quarters!
The room had fresh made beds but the bathroom was disgusting, dirty sink, shower, taps, broken toilet seat. The wardrobe had 3 hangers & the safe was the size of a large mobile phone, the drawers had broken fronts & table tops still dirty.
Next day we were told by reception to keep going back to see if they could sort it three times before we eventually got to see the manager, we were hot & bothered & lost the joy of our first day.
The manager was very polite & helpful, found us another room but did point out that is what we had booked with on the beach.
Firstly, the hotel should not be selling these rooms (it's happening all the time according to staff).
Secondly, On the Beach are miss- selling this has a 3 star room which it doesn't deserve one star & should be taken off there site.

So unfortunately whilst the hotel has good points we wouldn't reccomend this hotel again or return, its sadly not what it was & needs its pride back!

Stayed before but won't return.

At best, the hotel is average by European standards. To be fair, Gouves looks to be suffering a little post COVID/
Greek economy.

 We Stayed in a junior suite which was actually good and had clearly been updated recently, overlooking one of the pools. 

Rest of hotel is decidedly tired and needs cleaning, tidying, updating, but it is in a good position, close to the beach and some reasonable bars/restaurants locally.”

Evening entertainment…. Lets not comment. Far better for the hotel to Re-think this. Could be massively
Improved!!

All inclusive deal in my opinion is poor value. 
- Volume not quality based
- Mixed quality food. 
- Breakfast ok
- lunch/pool bars are junk food. 
- Evening meal variable but broad choice, but its like a canteen
- Crockery and cutlery cheap and nasty
- all inclusive drinks very low quality

* if you want to stay drunk for 7 days and don’t care… its ideal, Self service wine/beer not a good combination. 

People drinking at 10am and partying hard well into the night. Many people using the pools at 1-3am. Great when I was 18, not with my 15yr daughter!!

Best time…… 7am - 10am - quiet and peaceful everywhere.

A complete absence of staff away from the reception, we found that odd. People can walk in from the road.

Dirty swimming pools, green algae and far too shallow at 80cm depth, dangerous in my opinion, sharp edged tiles, both my daughter and I had minor cuts. 

Cleaning staff are friendly and cheery, did a good job 👍

Spa - costly and very low rent. Gym is a mess.

At the end of our stay, the hotel stored our luggage and provided shower and dressing area once checked out, which was good and meant we could travel home relaxed.

Overall, not terrible but as a regular international traveller, it is of a lower standard than you would find elsewhere in western europe.

A little disappointing

This hotel is definitely not as advertised. Three star at the most,not 5 star.. free WiFi? NO A/I Only till 10pm. Drinks served in plastic cups unless you give a good tip then you can have a glass!!Choice of restaurants? NO once per stay for ala carte. Otherwise just buffet 
Whoever gave 5 stars has not been to a proper 5 star hotel.

We are staying here now.We booked a superior room and we we're shown to a room that only had one very small window mezzanine bedroom and bathroom downstairs. 
When I went back to reception I was told no other rooms available. And told to return the next day as no supervisor available. I refused and we were given another room that wasn't much better. Right by the pool bar which is the only bar open!! So very noisy children running around until 11pm
On returning once again to reception the next day. I was told that we could not change rooms again as we had already changed once. Again no supervisor to authorise it. Reception staff are not at all interested in guests.
We have resorted to going out of an evening. Never again,waste of money.
