Maya beach hotel is a four-star (4****) elegant seaside hotel, completely renovated in 2017/2018, comfortable, which lays harmoniously within the large new green gardens and great sea view as its situated 10 meters from the shore. All our rooms are fully renovated the year 2018 with a modern design by our award winning architect team as is all the main reception, restaurant and public spaces of the hotel. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Gouves, about 18 km from the airport of Heraklion and about 10 km from Hersonissos.The center of Gouves where you can find shops, taverns and bars is about 800 meters from the hotel. The hotel is situated just 10 meters from the rocky shore but the sandy beach is located about 150 meters from the hotel.The Easy access to the main road makes it easy for anyone who wishes to visit Knossos, Cretaquarium and Heraklion which is the capital of the island where the second largest archaeological museum in Greece is located. Adults only accommadation .The hotel offers outdoor swimming pool, terrace with sunbeds and Umbrellas, Gazebos, a snack bar and a restaurant, a lovely garden, table tennis ,darts , parking area, luggage storage, 24h reception, lobby and lounge, multilingual staff, wake up service, banquet facilities, room service, at exra charge , internet corner, non smoking areas and rooms .

Not a 4☆ Been to other places in Greece of lower star and been better
Got home early hours this morning after a good time here. On arrival we drove past the Children's play area on corner of hotel. I said to my Husband I bet we are put in a room by this? What did they do? Yes right opposite the inflatable Garfield showing his bum and Friends . With being a couple aged 62 and 55 I was devastated and said "Im coming to an Adults Only with no kids then why would I want a room by this?" At first was told manager wasnt in but she appeared and we were moved to a different room away from everything facing an expansive piece of waste ground a ping pong table with no bats and a dart board attached to a tree!!! Its definitely not a 4☆ I've been in better 2☆. The Pool is lovely but it needs a bit of tlc freshen up paint in places. Food area is absolutely wonderful the staff are so lovely and helpful couldnt do enough for you. Choices for both breakfast and evening meal just lovely and plenty of choice to suit everyone. The snack bar was also lovely during the day. Ants in room and round pool area was a slight problem too. We'd come in a few nights and they would be all in the bathroom which wasn't very nice but weren't there all the while. Overall we had a lovely holiday met some lovely people and Sunset from hotel is just amazing. But just be aware of certain things. Not a lot round the area wouldn't come back.
Great Hotel
Stayed for a week and would have preferred longer! The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was fresh, plentiful and varied. Evening menus are geographically themed and you’re spoiled for choice. The à la carte dinner available was most enjoyable.
A highlight for us was the rock band on the Friday evening.
Some guests took the opportunity to reserve sunbeds from very early in the morning despite only using them later in the day. The pool is not enormous but more than adequate and nicely relaxing without intrusive music.
Our only reservation was that the pricey massage was sub par so would not recommend. This of course may vary depending upon the staff.
Well worth a visit.

Relaxing holiday
Staff very welcoming on arrival, complimentary drink offered which wasn’t expected. Room clean and tidy. Bathroom a little bit dark when in shower, could have done with extra light facing into shower. Light outside our balcony/terrace area didn’t work so was a little dark when trying to get back in room on a night. Would recommend that people don’t eat around pool area due to ants but daytime snack food fantastic, and cocktails. Evening meals were lukewarm and not really to our taste but good choice. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely return and recommend to friends if you’re looking for a relaxing holiday.

Nice, clean, quiet, excellent hotel staff, great food - good idea /every evening a different cuisine - italian, mexico, asia, greek, ... very fresh/. Also breakfast excellent. Plus a bottle of red wine on the house. I want to go back there right now !
