What a lovely start to our family hoilday only our 2nd hoilday abroad, diogenis Blue Palace crete is amazing, the beach is just on the doorstep, the staff, management, cleaners, chefs are all very attentive and all very friendly and can't do enough for you 😀 The food is AMAZING, Fresh pizzas every evening, a wide range of food especially for our 1 picky eater, there is literally something for everyone, breakfast pancakes, eggs all different types, toast, meat cheese, cereal etc, dinners there is always fish or chicken on offer and the puddings are out of this world definitely worth trying 😋 The hotel is clean and so is the pool, a wonderful atmosphere throughout. Our room is Amazing, clean, open and what makes it even better is that we come out of our door and have a view of the sea 🌊 We are currently staying in room 404 and cant wait for the rest of the week
Just back from 2 weeks here, it’s a fairly small family run hotel. We had a lovely time, if you are expecting lots of busy stuff going on and facilities this isn’t the place for you. But if you want a chilled and comfortable time in a good location then it’s great. Food: one restaurant buffet. Standard all inc breakfast, lunch and dinner pretty good always spag bol, salad, soups and chips and fresh pizza oven if others doesn’t take your fancy but I’d urge you to try as there’s some great dishes. Greek night weekly is delicious. Snacks are a small fridge at 4.15 with sandwiches and fruit. Drinks: one of my few criticisms, wine (not good wine) beer, ouzo, raki or Brandy alcohol wise, soft drinks slushie, others which didn’t taste great. Staff: very friendly and helpful, they work really hard. The entire place was constantly being maintained and cleaned. We paid extra €40 for late checkout as we had late flights. Other guests; mixture of European guests everyone was pretty friendly. Sunbeds normally gone by 8am but there’s not a huge rush or a huge issue with them. Hotel: small and in need of some updating in areas. You can see they are taking steps to modernize. Our room was again a small gripe for us, not great. Big room, nice view. We had a family room with mezzanine floor. This was not great a bit shabby, not room to stand, floor bed and the aircon doesn’t reach up there, it was hot and uncomfortable. The beds are extremely hard. But it was clean and the bathroom recently refitted. The pool was clean and really nice. Pool area tiled and regularly cleaned. They don’t blast music at you which I liked. Location: right on the sea front with stunning sunsets and pretty little beaches. Bit if a walk to the main area in Gouves but it’s pretty well served with shops and places to eat. Not a party place more for families and relaxing. Overall a very lovely stay, thanks for having us.
I have been to some lovely places around the world, but have to be honest and say this hotel is never a 4 Star, I would struggle to give it a 2 Star. The staff are great, and I would give them 4 Star, but not the Hotel. The Hotel description is like a Fairytale, it states a Coffee shop ?, no coffee shop, Poolside Bar ?, no Bar near the pool, only bar is near front of building, Snack Bar No Snack Bar, All inclusive ?, Lager, Red Wine, White Wine, Ouzo or Raki. No cocktails, no Gin & Tonic, whiskey etc Meals are very repetitive, same every day, we decided to eat out every night, also the only place you can go if you do not smoke is in restaurant, everybody smokes everywhere, round by pool, on terrace area, even barman was smoking when he served a drink. The beds are like concrete, pillows like sand, the bathrooms very poor quality, they would use any colour of tiles to patch up wall, or floor. I could go on and on, I have never given a bad review in all my years of Traveling abroad, but this Hotel is very Bad, nothing like the photos, some of the beach photos show another suppliers private beach, unbelievable, I would never go back to this Hotel EVER.
We had such a wonderful experience with Chef Ilyas! His pizza was absolutely delicious — fresh, full of flavour, and clearly made with passion. 🍕 Everything we tried was beautifully prepared and tasted amazing.
Amazing beach, wonderful crete and good hospitality ✨special thanks to ilias
