This hotel apartments were small but adequate for a holiday, contained everything that was needed. The bathroom facilities was a big walk in shower which was easy to use and wet room flooring. The bar staff were all very pleasant and happy to help, although I do think those working in the restaurant area could and should have been more accommodating. They asked some people if they wanted any drinks but not everyone. We were only asked once during our stay. We had to obtain drinks from the bar ourselves, or not have a drink with the meal. The bar area was difficult at mealtimes due to being busy. Yes would have been nice to enjoy a drink with our meal together. The restaurant area itself was laid out quite well with adequate seating, always found a table to sit at. The food was plenty although not topped up if you were on the later side, which was disappointing. Also the food was never hot. This is my only real downside of our stay. We had a lovely time. We were across the road from the main buildings, with a pool right outside our door. We had to go over to the main area for drinks which although not terrible meant you would probably have less from the bar than you would have done. In fact we bought drinks from the shop at the end of the road for around the pool area and in our room.
I had a very unpleasant surprise when I arrived at the hotel. The double room I had reserved six months in advance was not available on the day of our arrival. Instead, we were given an apartment, but after only one night we were forced to move.
I asked whether I could pay extra to keep the apartment, but I was told that I would have to pay for three additional days because the apartment was only available for that period. I refused. We were then given a twin room with a connecting door to the room next door, where complete strangers were staying. Unfortunately, every night we could clearly hear someone snoring very loudly through the connecting door, which made our stay even more uncomfortable.
The service in the restaurant was also disappointing. The waiters did not always ask whether we wanted something to drink, and the restaurant staff generally seemed very slow. The food was quite repetitive and, in my opinion, not of particularly good quality.
There are two rather small swimming pools. The reception staff were not very helpful or cooperative, which was especially disappointing considering the problems we experienced from the very first day.
Two sun loungers and an umbrella on the beach cost €20. Also, despite the hotel being all-inclusive, no free drinks are provided on the beach.
Positive points:
Unfortunately, these positive aspects were not enough to compensate for our overall experience. I have bad memories of this hotel, particularly because of what happened on our first day and the attitude of the reception staff.
For the amount of money we paid, I expected a much more professional and reliable service.
I will definitely not return to this hotel.
Great pool 2 to chose from, great entertainment, Great food, lots of choice although not much taste in deserts. We made use of gym, air conditioned. Close to beach, have to pay for lounger and not much space to lay down a towel. Nice stroll up to church, great views, we did a boat trip from Agios Nikalaus onto Spiralonga, interesting, well organised. Hersonissos worth visiting, beauty. Coke at hotel not great, lemonade better, ice cream good, beer pretty good. Dimos was fab, organised transfers before our trip, no issues even though flight delayed. Small issue with shower but sorted next day. Would recommend.
The room itself was fine, very clean and housekeeping was in everyday to change towels, clean up etc. The food was awful, one member of our group got food poisoning on night one. Selection does not change each day and did not look appealing in the slightest with everything looking and tasting cheap and in oil, meaning we had to eat out every night due to lack of trust that what we were eating was actually safe to eat meaning it was an even more expensive holiday. We Stayed in the smaller side of the hotel with our own pool and could not get WiFi. When asked the receptionist was very rude and brushed us off and said it was because of the wind, gave the benefit of the doubt but every other day we stayed there wasn’t even a breeze and could not get a thing, adding an extra cost on as we thought WiFi was a given especially for the price paid for the holiday. Wanted to book a massage at the hotel for the last day so inquired the afternoon before to which we were told that they couldn’t book it that night and to come back after breakfast (even though it says to book it in 24 hours before). We came back and they said not yet and to come back again, meaning that when we went back they hadn’t even bothered to try to get something sorted meaning we had to go to another hotel to get a service they advertise. Overall wouldn’t recommend going all inclusive and the staff was not overly helpful
We had a fantastic holiday here in Gouves. The food was excellent, with a great variety from one meal to the next as part of the all-inclusive package. As for drinks, the all-inclusive option included unlimited soft drinks, beers, wine and a selection of superalcohol from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., as well as an afternoon ice cream break and a snack break. The room was also tidy and clean.
