Located in a paradisiacal setting and overlooking the sea, immersed in a relaxing and beautiful Mediterranean atmosphere, this marvellous hotel is the ideal choice of accommodation for everyone in search of a place to stay where they can recharge their batteries. Those interested in history may appreciate the main two archeological sites in the region. The property is a mere 12 km from the popular Agios Nikolaos city and there is a bus stop only 70 metres away. All guest rooms and suites are individually designed and fully furnished with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Each of them is decorated in warm and earthy hues, allowing its visitors to find their balance between body and soul. Guests can enjoy the stunning views from the roof top garden and enjoy a relaxing bath at the great swimming pool or at the convenient private beach with free parasols and sun-loungers.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Just back from a week in this fab hotel lovely room and location just across from the hotel pebble beach everyone was so helpful and friendly, breakfast plenty of choice , a roof top pool and fab sky bar on 4 th floor thanks for a fab week .
Positives The hotel was spotless. The staff (except 1 bar tender) were exemplary - polite, welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable. The food was delicious! Breakfast had lots of choice and we ate at The Sea Bar on a few occasions and were not disappointed. The hotel owns a section of beach with sun beds and this was perfect to relax and enjoy the sun with the sound of the sea lapping at the shore - perfection! We didn’t struggle for beds once on the beach. Location is excellent - only a 10 minute flat stroll to Elounda square and all along the walk there are bars and restaurants. The sea views are lovely. Eating breakfast on the shore line and lunch on the jetty was delightful every day.
Negatives You have to queue to get your coffee each morning which is not in keeping with a 4 * hotel where a pot of coffee is brought to you when you sit. On one occasion there were 7 people queuing up at the machine (only one machine in the restaurant). The views from the rooms are not great - over looking barren gardens and other buildings so we didn’t spend time on our balcony - but it didn’t bother us - just highlighting to people who like to sit and chill on the balcony watching the sea, sunsets etc. There are no drawers in the rooms, just a wardrobe so we did live out of our suitcases regarding t shirts, shorts, underwear etc. Maybe an idea to put drawer units in the rooms rather than the settee which we didn’t sit on once. I’m sure (and hope) this was a one off, but on our second evening the male bar tender at The Sky Bar was extremely abrasive and curt with me. It was unnecessary and really embarrassed and upset me. We left straight away, he knew he’d done wrong because when my husband went to the bar to pay the bill, he asked him ‘Have I upset you?’ because of this, we never returned to The Sky Bar which was a great shame as it is a lovely bar with spectacular views. I just wasn’t willing to spend my hard earned money in a place where I had been treated so rudely. I also didn’t appreciate him asking my husband if he had upset HIM, when it was ME, he knew he had upset. The pool at the top of the hotel has limited sun beds and we never got the chance the whole time we were there to lie by the pool. This is something that needs addressing as obviously all holiday makers want to spend time by a pool. That said - we did love lying on the private beach every day. There was no evening entertainment the whole time we were there - the hotel is just not big enough (only 70 rooms) and this was fine for us as we preferred the smaller venue. The restaurant and Sky Bar are open to the public - so this needs pointing out. The location, cleanliness and food far outweigh the negatives I have stated, but I wanted to leave an honest account of my experience.
First let me say what a great holiday we had and we happily revisit The location for us was perfect, a short walk into elounda which retains is more traditional harbour roots but with many a good restaurant and cocktail bar without all the noise etc We were blown away with our balcony, yes it is not ally an upgrade but wow space for table chairs and 2 sun beds and a sea view, the perfect place to watch the sun and moon rise each day. The roof top pool is small, however not once did we fail to get a bed and actually with it not opening till 9am you didn’t have the 7am towels go down, that was reserved for the beach opposite. We were bed and breakfast and glad we did, breakfast was great plenty of choice but it also allowed us to try many of the local food places and wow that was great. The hotel is clean, well looked after just 2 suggestions not issues The rooms are modern great bathroom but no drawer space at all, a small wardrobe but you could really do with a chest of drawers The second one is beach/pool towels You offer them, you don’t have to but you do at a deposit of €5 each, that’s fine however if you want to change the towel then it’s a €2 charge per towel cleaning, personally either offer beach/pool towels or don’t, to charge for cleaning them I’ve never come across, that said you supply a safe in each room and it’s free, I’ve always paid for a safe so perhaps you could charge for the safe and then supply the towels free, just a suggestion. Overall a great location, great hotel and the area for us was perfect We will return one day
Myself and my partner stayed at this hotel in early July and absolutely loved it. We have been coming to Elounda for a number of years but never stayed here. It will be our only choice from now on! Although the rooms aren't large (which we knew before we travelled) they were modern, immaculate and have everything you need. We had bed and breakfast and there was a very good choice of food which was replenished constantly. The Sky bar is lovely too either in the afternoon or evening with fabulous views. However, I must say the thing we loved the most was how fantastic all the staff are. Every one of them was more than helpful, constantly cheerful and able to have a chat - they are an absolute credit to the hotel. We have already booked for next year!
We are currently staying here, it really is fantastic. The staff are extremely professional and very friendly, the food is exellent, a full choice of continental, full english, or cereal fruits yogurts for the health concious, the hotel itself is spotlessly clean as is our room (cleaned daily) no need to ramble on there are no negatives here, if you dont stay here you've missed out. This is a 5 star experience and the best of Cretan hospitality.
