We stayed here for a couple of nights before moving on to another part of the island. It is perfectly placed for visiting the old town and was a delightful place to stay. We were greeted by Renate on reception who is just so lovely and who welcomed us with a delicious homemade drink, I can’t remember what it was but it was divine. We stayed in a suite with a small private pool which was excellent. Our son had a proper bed and not just a sofabed which was really appreciated. The room was tastefully decorated, was spotlessly clean and had fabulous local made toiletries. We also had a lovely bottle of wine welcoming us. The staff are really really nice, particularly the lady upstairs in the pool bar. We thought the food up there was great and very reasonably priced. The pool was fantastic and great for a cool off when it was so hot. This is an excellent choice if you are in Chania.
The Sansal Hotel in Chania offers an incredible stay, and its location is hands-down the absolute best part of the experience. We were just a short, easy walk from the harbor, making it perfect for heading down every single night for dinner and wandering through the local markets. On top of the prime location, the hotel features a beautiful view of the water that was truly amazing to look out at, and the breakfast each morning was great. The room itself had a sleek, minimalistic modern design, but during our four-night stay, we found that clothing storage was a bit limited for two people. Fortunately, the bathroom was huge, which came in handy because the room's closet wasn't long enough to properly hold my formal attire dress and my husband’s tuxedo, forcing me to hang them up in the bathroom instead. While they have a very nice pool on-site, we didn't end up using it. Overall, it is still a wonderful place to stay in Crete!
Sansal is 10 minutes from the old town in one direction and 10 minutes to the beach in the opposite direction. Our sea view £300 per night room was comfortable if a little bland which tends to be the design concept throughout the hotel. Considering the hotel has absolutely no communal facilities other than a relatively small rooftop pool and bar the hotel could not be considered to be particularly cheap. They also have suites that range from £600/700 per night. Sansal has no in house restaurants. Staff our delightful and go out of their way to help. The hotel is extremely clean and well managed.
Very welcoming hotel in Chania. Balcony rooms with seaside views. Rooftop bar and pool. Location is terrific for walking to Chania Old Town but quiet enough to not feel crowded. Front desk staff are top notch and go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. Very nice breakfast.
Great location and lovely hotel but best of all were the staff. All lovely friendly helpful people! Would highly recommend this hotel (and Chania in general) for a fantastic holiday
