We are a family of 5 so booked 2 rooms in this lovely hotel. The rooms & bathrooms are huge, as are the balconies so lots of space to relax. The rooftop pool is the selling point here, it's fabulous and the views are stunning. It's also the bar area. It's v small so easy to get chatting to other holiday makers and staff. Location is excellent and a short walk to the old town. Breakfast was good. The staff were so lovely, especially Renata at the front desk, she was so nice and helpful, thank you!
The service was a 10. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Roof top pool and bar with an amazing view was throughly enjoyed. Location was ideal, conveninet walk yet out of the congested old town center. Parking was easy.
Thank you, Renata, for being so kind and helpful. The room was very comfortable and had a wonderful panoramic view. Breakfast was ok and the staff members in the breakfast area were very kind. The location is very convenient; you can easily walk to the Old Town and to Nea Chora. The hotel was generally quiet; however, you can hear residents talking on the balcony even when you are in the room with the windows shut. Easy to get to the airport by taxi. Our feedback to the hotel, as we know they care, is that the communal stairs were not always clean. Thank you for preparing a breakfast box for us as we left at the time when the breakfast commenced, and maybe one might have hoped for a better one given that this is a 4-star hotel- we did not mind and got breakfast at the airport.
Really nice boutique hotel in great location with helpful and knowledgeable staff - we stayed in the executive suite as a family of four - fantastic balcony!
Our second visit to the SanSal having booked immediately on our return in Jun 25 and we were not disappointed. The hotel yet again met and exceeded our high expectations born from our 2025 visit. The room was as described with views over the sea from the balcony and over the Castle from the floor to ceiling wall window. This window did get the sun from early morning and certainly heated the room - thank goodness for air conditioning!! The views from both were spectacular. The room was cleaned and the towels changed daily. The housekeeping staff were excellent and really helpful, going the extra mile with a cheerful smile. Renata and Alexia, the main receptionists were nothing short of brilliant, always smiling, cheerful and helpful. They and other staff were brilliant when I injured myself on a trip asking after my health every time they saw me, I couldn't ask for more. The breakfast buffet was good but could do with the addition of teapots rather than having to make use of a tea bag in cup - a really fussy complaint!! We made use of the beach towels most days and walked to Neo Chora beach, a short 15 minute stroll. The beach is sandy, water shallow and beach beds plentiful. The restaurants in Neo Chora are mainly fish based and are worth visiting. However, most evenings we preferred to take the short walk into Chania old town and harbour to sample the excellent cusine on offer, we weren't disappointed at the quality of the food, service and wines. The views from rooftop bar and pool are special and make the sunsets worth the cocktails.
We will revisit but would request a room on the Hilton side of the hotel as the concerts held occasionally in the castle grounds can be noisy. They are beyond the control of the hotel and did not spoil our stay.
